Russia has hit the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, with a wave of Iranian-made kamikaze drones. A number of locations across the city have been hit, including residential buildings, with at least one person killed, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko. It is understood that one of the buildings targeted was the headquarters of Ukraine’s energy company, as part of ongoing Russian efforts to target energy infrastructure ahead of the winter.

CCTV footage released by Ukraine's President Zelensky shows the moment a missile strikes a shopping centre in Kremenchuk. The death toll from Monday's strike has risen to 20 while dozens of people have been injured. Russia claimed a strike on an arms storage facility detonated ammunition which set the nearby shopping mall on fire.

Six people are facing criminal charges over a football stadium crush that killed at least 131 people, Indonesia's police chief said. They will be charged with criminal negligence causing death, which carries a maximum sentence of five years. Those facing the charges include police officers and organisers. The disaster happened last week after police fired tear gas at fans who invaded the pitch in Kanjuruhan stadium, Malang, after a defeat. Hundreds tried to flee through the exits, which caused a deadly stampede.

President Zelensky says the world must act now to stop Russia's nuclear threat. Speaking to the BBC, Ukraine's leader warns that Russian officials have begun to "prepare their society" for the possible use of nuclear weapons - although he does not believe the country is ready to use them. It comes as Ukraine's army has been making big gains, recapturing large swathes of territory from Russia in a major counter-offensive. At least 31 people are believed to have died after a former police officer opened fire at a childcare centre in Thailand, police say. The attack took place in the Nong Bua Lamphu area in the north-east of the country. A motive for the incident is sill unclear. The gunman was later found dead according to local media reports. Mass shootings in Thailand are rare. In 2020 a soldier killed 21 people and injured dozens more in the city of Nakhon Ratchasima.

Engineers are looking for a new destination for a rover that was supposed to go to Mars. The vehicle was originally developed to help bring back rocks from Mars, but officials at the US and European space agencies (Nasa and Esa) axed it from the project. This has left the UK team at aerospace company Airbus scrambling to find an alternative place to send their technology. There's a possibility the rover could now be repackaged to work on the moon's surface.
