This throwback Thursday is from 2010 wheh I went to my first concert to see the one and only Sir Paul McCartney....this was shot on an ipod.....

The Hope Saw Mill in Peterborough County was originally built as a carding and fulling mill on the Indian River, a mile north of the village of Lang in 1835. Another sawmill down the river in Lang burned in 1873 and shortly thereafter, William and his son-in-law Richard Hope added a saw house to their mill. By the 1890s,the wool and carding business was discontinued and the Hope family provided much-needed lumbering services to the area until 1966. The original sawmill and wood-finishing equipment have been fully restored and there is a wood-working museum. During the summer months, you can watch the equipment cut and finish lumber just like it was done by pioneers in the area. The mission of the Hope Mill is to preserve and promote knowledge of 19th century water-powered wool and lumber milling technology through the safe demonstration of operating heritage equipment and sharing of historical archives while fostering a cooperative environment for Hope Mill volunteers.

Kawartha Lakes Police made an arrest in connection with a fire in Lindsay on December 17 that left a home on Russell Street E. in ruins and a neighbouring home damaged. Police said on December 22, a woman was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offence/arson endangering life and fraud over $5,000.

A college roommate took a shot of bacon grease....it did not end well.

'Life' starring Robert Pattinson (Twilight film series) and Dane DeHaan were filming scenes in Millbrook, Ont., near Peterborough March 4th 2014. Pattinson plays the role of Dennis Stock, the photographer for Life magazine who took many of the iconic images of James Dean. James Dean is played by Dane DeHaan. Millbrook's downtown on King Street was transformed by the film crew into the 1950s era with primary scenes to be filmed in front of The Pastry Peddler—which looked like a Fifties shoe store. The movie was released in 2015.
