Emile is an apathetic twenty-something dealing with the fallout of being cheated on. His life takes a turn for the absurd when he is reunited with his estranged mother, an impulsive free-spirit, with a passion for life.

Jack is a burn-out ex-detective who is obsessed with a cold case he never solved. Jack's girlfriend Catherine worries about Jack, and urges him to let it go. After Catherine leaves for work, Jack's obsession manifests itself and pushes Jack to his brink.
