Plimer has argued against human caused climate change. He believes in volcanic pollution, claiming that volcanoes account for more CO2 pollution than human activity. In his 2009 book, Heaven and Earth: Global Warming – The Missing Science, he makes the illegitimate connection between religious creationism and environmentalism. He is also an outspoken critic of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, claiming that their work against climate change is not scientific, but purely political.
