Spider Walk Guitar Exercise Day 30
Made it to Day 30! I've definitely improved a lot since starting, so for sure the time I invested was well spent! Also, I'm thinking that if I keep it up I'll get better, so maybe I should give it another week?
My original mission was to practice this for at least 15 minutes each day and see how much my finger independence (which is currently TERRIBLE) will improve. I'm doing it fairly slow at only 80bpm and will only increase the speed when my accuracy and consistency improves. I've still got HUGE problems with accuracy and consistency in both my fretting and picking hands, but finger independence has improved a whole lot. When I first started this on Day 1 (which I don't have on video), fingers 3 and 4 were always moving together and I could hardly keep the strings down. I still have to make effort to keep the strings down but its much easier than before - my finger strength has certainly increased over the past week.

Spider Walk Guitar Exercise Day 22
Day 22 of the Spider Walk Guitar Exercise
Realized that over time I've drifted away from my original focus on finger independence as I play the exercise - I've been lifting my fingers to try and get the notes sounding individually. So today I'm going back to basics.

Spider Walk Guitar Exercise Day 20
Day 20 of the Spider Walk Guitar Exercise
Something that I realized today - back when I started my fingers were tiring quickly, and by the time I was done practicing they felt sore and stiff. I'm beyond that now, now it feels like I could do this all day without any pain afterwards, so that's another area of progress I'm thankful for.

Day 16 of the Spider Walk Guitar Exercise
Lots of annoying mistakes! I've improved a lot since I first started and was struggling to get my fingers to move across each string - it was really hard to even hold the strings down - I wish I had recorded the first few days so you could see how much I was struggling then! Still got a long way to go though and I'm already halfway through the 30 days.

Day 15 of the Spider Walk Guitar Exercise
Not a great day - seems I made more mistakes than usual - not sure what the deal was. Also for some reason the sound barely came through - maybe there's a short in my cable. Nothing I can do about it now though, so here it is.

Spider Walk Guitar Exercise Day 14
Day 14 of my 30 Day spider walk exercise challenge. 2 weeks in and I've certainly seen big improvement with finger independence, which is the number one thing I wanted to improve. For that reason I'm trying to let the strings ring out and not really trying to mute to make the transitions clean - maybe once I'm satisfied with the independence of movement I'll focus on that next
