What is the story of Elisha and the Shunammite woman?
February 11, 2024 at St. Johns Community Church, we are going to look at a women, who is nameless –She is nameless to us but not to God, she is nameless to us, but not to her family and friends. She was loved and known by the ones in her life she cared about and I doubt that she would care one twit that we at St. Johns or anyone in 2024 do not know her name. We know her as the Shunnimmite woman…we’ll have to wait ‘till we get to heaven to find it out her name.
This story happened 850 years B.C.
This woman simply was willing to give comfort to this man of God!!! 2 Kings 4:8-37; 2 Kings 8:1; 2 Kings 4:8-37; 2 Kings 8:1-6; Deuteronomy 31:6; Matt. 25:31-40.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ
Over the month of January, I spoke on many of the false gospels. I did not look at any churches, denominations or religions that do not claim to be Christian. As I looked into this issue, I was frankly very surprised at the vast number of false Gospels in churches and pastors that do claim Jesus as their Savior. I should have known from the number of warnings we have received from God’s Word that would be the case. Ephesians 4:14; 1 Timothy 1:18-20; 2 Timothy 2:16-18; Titus 1:10-11; Hebrews 13:9; 2 Peter 3:17; Romans 16:17-18; 1 Timothy 1:3-4; Galatians 1:8-9; 2 Peter 2:1.

Social Gospel
Today at St. Johns we looked at a third false Gospel being taught by many so-called Christians. These are false Gospels that will lead many to Hell. They many times sound good and try to use God's word to support their false gospel. I discuss scripturally why they are the false gospels we have been warned about. Next week I will preach on the True Gospel of Jesus Christ that leads to salvation. Bob
Galatians 1:6-9 King James Version 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

What should we, as Christians, believe about Social Justice?
Social justice is often used as a rallying cry for many on the extremely liberal side of the political spectrum. There are literally hundreds of organizations receiving taxpayer money and contributions from large companies that are passed on to the consumer. Most are centered on race, or sex, culture, age, size and many other details that some folks feel need to be supported by taxpayer resources. Deuteronomy 32:4; Deuteronomy 10:18; 24:17; 27:19; Matthew 25:40; James 1:27; Matthew 22:39; 2 Thessalonians 3:6-14; Revelation 20; John 6:15; John 1:29; Mark 14:7; Matthew 6:24; Luke 12:21; Matthew 11:5; Luke 5:20; John 5:14.

“Red Letter Christians”
Now who in the world would think some group would take a good feature like the red letters of Jesus and make something wrong?
Isaiah 5:20 KJV
Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
Matthew 7:21-23 KJV
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Noah a new beginning
Today 123123-and is another new years eve in our lives, so far I have lived through 75 of these, but all humankind had a new years eve around 4,400 years ago, roughly 1,650 years after the creation, when God sealed 8 people into the Ark as the water was going to destroy all life, but Noah and his family and two animals of every like kind.

Jesus and the Pslams
The book of Psalms is a collection of inspired songs used in worship of God, and many of them foretell the coming of the Messiah and predict events that were fulfilled in the life of Jesus Christ.
In total, twenty-five different psalms (one out of every six psalms) include at least one messianic prophecy.
Messianic psalms are quoted in eleven New Testament books, especially the gospels and the book of Acts. Bob

Are atheists more intelligent than believers?
The problem atheists have is not their level of intelligence; it is their struggle with sin. The problem is not that the atheist does not see enough evidence for God. The problem is that sin has so darkened his heart and mind that he refuses to accept the evidence of God right in front of him. The main goal of those under the influence of the sin nature is to make themselves into a god, to have complete control over their life, or so they thinks. That was Satan’s sin, he was not an atheist, he knew God but refused to worship and submit to God, he wanted to be god. All who claim to be atheist wants to be their own god. Biblically speaking, there is no such thing as a true atheist. Psalm 19:1-2 1 The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship.Proverbs 1:7; Psalm 119:98; 2 Timothy 3:15; 1 Corinthians 1:25; James 3:13–18; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Genesis 3; Romans 1:21–22; John 3:19; Psalm 19:1-2; Romans 1:18-20; Psalm 14:1; Psalm 53:1; Romans 8:6-8; Matthew 28:19; Romans 1:16; Matthew 7:6; Matthew 10:14; Proverbs 29:1; Genesis 6:3; James 1:5. 2 Day after day they continue to speak; night after night they make him known.

2 Kings 17:5-7
New Living Translation
Samaria Falls to Assyria
5 Then the king of Assyria invaded the entire land, and for three years he besieged the city of Samaria. 6 Finally, in the ninth year of King Hoshea’s reign, Samaria fell, and the people of Israel were exiled to Assyria. They were settled in colonies in Halah, along the banks of the Habor River in Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
7 This disaster came upon the people of Israel because they worshiped other gods. They sinned against the Lord their God, who had brought them safely out of Egypt and had rescued them from the power of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. Excuses Instead of Service
Exodus 3:10-15, 4: 1-17 tells us that Moses was a reluctant leader for his people to escape the slavery from the nation of Egypt. In Exodus 3:10 God tells Moses to go to Egypt
10 “So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelite's out of Egypt.” Moses is not very happy with this news and responds to God's command with “Excuses Instead of Service.”
