The Forgotten Virtue of Mercy - Beatitudes - Sermon on the Mount - Jesus Christ
Honestly, when was the last time you thought of someone as merciful?
Mercy is the forgotten fruit of the disciples of Jesus yet mercy was so present throughout Scripture. In fact, there are many strong words regarding those who do not show mercy and great blessing for those who do.

Jesus in his teaching on the Sermon on the Mount spoke of mercy. He said blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
There are two main expressions of mercy that will be found in this video. In addition, this video answers the following questions:
1) What is mercy and how does it differ from grace?
2) Is mercy found only in the context of judgment? Or is there more?
3) How do we go and do as Jesus said, "be merciful."
Hope this blesses you and challenges you as it did me in the area of making mercy a reality of my life. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Hungry and Thirsty for More - Blessed are those Who Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness
Have you felt that longing? That there has to be more to this life? And there's a deep place in your soul that isn't satisfied. It isn't satisfied with religion, work, money, and more.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. (Jesus, Sermon on the Mount, Beatitudes).
But there is a satisfaction for the soul and Jesus talks about it in the Sermon on the Mount. In this beatitude, he speaks of hungering and thirsting for righteousness. What is it to hunger and thirst for righteousness?

Meek Isn't Mousy - Beatitudes of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount
Does Meek = Week? Or is it something entirely different? And what does it mean that the meek will inherit the earth. These are the teachings of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5.

We often think of meekness as weakness. In this video, we look at the etymology of the word meekness, what Jesus meant by it, and it's context in the Old Testament, specifically Ps 37. It is interesting as it has great significance for our times.
It has been said that meekness is from a stallion, a war-horse, but is that true? If that's the case, where is the Greek literature to support that? So in dealing with this, we need to look at what we do have available.
Beyond that if we look at meekness in the context of Jesus' quote in Ps 37, we see that meekness has rich implications for today. Especially during these times.

Does Mourning Mean Death Here? Blessed are Those Who Mourn - The Beatitudes - Sermon on the Mount
What a strange thing to say! There's more than one way to mourn, so does Jesus here mean the death of a loved one? Maybe, or perhaps there's more here. A virtue we don't often talk about.
The Sermon on the Mount is considered one of Jesus' greatest messages of all times. He teaches truths of the day that are absolutely revolutionary.

This is no less the case here. When you understand there is blessing in mourning based on the context here, you will see how this even goes against the grain of today's culture.
Perhaps it is for this that the world is burning right now.
This is one of many teaching's of Jesus that you do not want to miss.

What Does That Mean? Poor in Spirit? Jesus Beatitudes from his Sermon on the Mount
If Jesus told you (which he did) that you needed to be poor in spirit, would you know what that would look like? Is that a good and happy thing? What does Jesus' mean?

Jesus' Sermon on the Mount is considered one of the most powerful sermons in history. The Beatitudes are especially famous and so counter-cultural.
The Beatitudes open with this statement, "Blessed are the Poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
We will look to dive into each of these beatitudes to understand what they mean, but more importantly, so that we know how to live them.
What does Jesus mean by 'blessed are the poor in spirit'? And what does it mean, 'kingdom of heaven'?
Jesus was saying an important message for all of us, and he was saying it in the context of masses who were hungry for something real. Jesus delivered that as he spoke the truth in love and spoke love in truth. Both.
The message that he gives, one of humility, is a message that that the humble will seek out God. They know who they are and who are they not. This is in contrast to the proud who believe they have it all together.
Jesus' teachings were refreshing, earth-shaking and were of a different kind than what the people were getting. This is why the masses flocked to Jesus.
The followers of Jesus will always be imperfect people, frought with the frailties of man. But when our faith and our worship is centered on Jesus, we will never be ashamed.
