It's Friday the 13th... in October! ...and Luck is still randomized, like always. Luck is a term we ascribe to external factors that affect us which we do not have control over. A funny thing crops up when you look at how the concept works... it can only exist if you do not understand it. It quickly goes from playing a game of Poker with the guys to merely counting cards till they kick you from Las Vegas. The more you work, the "luckier" you become. Got it? Good. Now go buy your lotto ticket, so I can get my bag of potato chips. Your taking too long picking out your numbers.

Memory plays a key part in our lives. We remember the things we shouldn't do to survive. We remember the things we should do to succeed and thrive. We mustn't remember everything, though... because then we would remember why our don't do this list is so much larger than our do this list.

The human brain is a wonderful thing. It allows us to do many stupid things in our heads before having someone to hold our beer to actually find out. When we need to do things that require a certain set of actions or skills to accomplish, our brains can actually rewire how it works to accommodate for that role. We have the saying "To do something you have never done before, you must become someone you've never been." and many of us do that mental shifting of gears every time we put on our work uniform.

We don't always say awesome things for the ending of our lives... it's usually the equivalent of "Well... Poop." and then our bodies do just that. Denotation is the literal definition of a word. Connotation is the implied context associated with the word. When people say to use a different word than what has been used historically, they are probably trying to muddy the waters. For example, please use the word special rather than retarded... well, or elected official, or for today's society, WWII Freedom Fighter for Ukraine on the side of Germany... rather than Nazi. That word is actually reserved for anyone with whom we disagree.

Persistence is the ability to return to a task to accomplish a goal. This helps us overcome distractions, and consciously return to doing something. Habits are the tasks we utilize repetitively to accomplish a goal. They are formed and broken over time to unconsciously return to doing something. Working together, amazing things can be accomplished. They can conflict with each other, as well. For all instances... if the goal is considered ridiculous / absurd... Well, that's just OCD.

If human Society would be analogized as a flowing river, it would be of a winter river, Culture flows ever onwards through the scene constantly shifting it's course in small ways, but staying within it's preset path. Government would be the ice shell that forms over the river. It would be composed of the river, and help protect it's course. If that shell gets too thick and burdensome, it stifles the river's flow and forces it to shift it's path... for it MUST flow. How does that sight speak to our current divergence in society?

Science and Industry encapsulates the art of How something can be done. Philosophy and Religion encapsulate the art of Why something should be done. Science without Philosophy is much like knowledge without wisdom... a great way to set up the latest future dystopia film... and rather destructive due to misapplication. Remember: the best recorded scientists who have significantly advanced science, were also very religious philosophers.

Well, it looks like there are two main groups... Games that are played and meant to be stopped. Ex. Checkers, Chess, and Horseshoes. They start, stop, and have rules that don't don't change during the game. The other type of games is played to keep it rolling. Ex. Minecraft, Wall Street's stock market, and even languages. Sometimes folks can't even remember when they started... or when it will end... but one thing is for sure... sometimes the rules are played with, to keep things fun and keep folks playing.

When looking at the flaws and faults of others... the ones we see most easily are usually the ones we are fighting with most in our own lives. Even if we aren't able to identify it, we definitely notice it. It seems kinda handy that we can look at others to improve ourselves.
