For the 30th consecutive year, the Lt. Cmdr. Edward Lea Camp, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, conducted their Battle of Galveston Commemoration Ceremony on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the Trinity Episcopal Cemetery in Galveston.

Following the ceremony used by the Grand Army of the Republic when a Union veteran of the Civil War passed away, the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War provided the same for a Union veteran buried in Humble, Texas.
