It’s practically impossible to consume any source of media without being reminded of the vast amounts of death, division, and destruction plaguing our world on a daily basis. With such a great need for peace It is quite reasonable for one to ask the question, did Jesus bring peace to the earth?
According to Romans 5:1, Jesus brought to earth the ability for man to have peace and be reconciled to God through His death, burial, and resurrection. When we place our faith in Jesus Christ and Him crucified we gain access to peace with God, which cannot be obtained otherwise.
Why then did Jesus say, I have not come to bring peace, but a sword? What did He mean and how can both verses be true? This is what we will be studying as we continue, let’s take a closer look together…
Is Jesus The Peace Of God

It’s so interesting Jesus wore many hats and had many titles. Jesus was called the Son Of Man, Son of God, Wonderful Counselor, and Mighty God. In Matthew 16:13 Jesus even asks, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is”? He is also called the Prince Of Peace, but is Jesus the Peace of God?
Jesus is the means by which we can have peace with God. Just as I said above the whole purpose of Jesus’s first advent was to make it possible for man to be reconciled to God the Father by paying the debt of sin that man owed, thereby bringing peace between us and God.
When we talk about Jesus and Him bringing peace we have to look at it in two different ways. There’s peace between man and God and there’s peace on the earth. These are two different things but eventually, Jesus will address both of them. During Jesus’s first advent the Jewish people had been waiting for a great king that would come and liberate them and restore the nation of Israel to the past glory It enjoyed during the time of King David. That will still occur but that’s not why Jesus came at that point.
Just like the Jewish people during the time when Jesus first came many people today are wondering what’s going on. Why is God allowing all of this death and destruction upon the earth? If Jesus came to bring peace why won’t he do something to stop all of the sufferings that we see every day? What many people don’t realize is that the problems that mankind face today are a direct result of us turning away from God and rejecting His law. Only obedience to God’s law will bring peace, disobedience will always bring death and destruction.
God is not double-minded. Consider this verse in Galatians 6:7-8, “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life”. What kind of God would He be if He said we reap what we sow and then rescued us from our reaping? This is why it’s important to your peace to know what seeds you’re sowing because once they’re sown you can’t take them back.
In other words, if we don’t sow peace we shouldn’t expect peace. God wants us to be peacemakers and many people don’t have peace because they don’t promote peace. We must give what we wish to receive. Consider this verse from Galatians…

How Can I Know The Will Of God? [How-To-Be-Sure-Of-God's-Will]

Friends, I want to invite you to download our free guide, “5 Ways To Fight Worry, Anxiousness, And Anxiety With God’s Word”, I’m sure it will bless your soul.
Wanting to know the will of God is the worthiest of endeavors for anyone walking on two feet any day of the week. Unfortunately, knowing the will of God is not readily understood by just any and everyone which leaves most of us having to ask, how can I know the Will of God?
Specifically speaking, one may know the will of God by emptying one’s self out, fully submitting to God’s Word, and being led by His Spirit. The knowledge of God’s will is reserved for those who have come to their own end and have made the commitment to fear and obey Him without exception.
God wants us to know His will and to live a happy life of obedience to Him but we must do our part and diligently seek Him until we find Him. It’s from this perspective that I want to study this title and you are invited to discover with me what the spirit of God has to say to us today,
In order to learn what God wants of you or to know His will for your life the very first thing that must be done is to draw close to Him. There are many ways to go about this which is what we are going to talk about for a bit. One of the best ways to draw closer to God is by fasting. Fasting does a few things that help us draw closer to God. Fasting is a sacrifice to God. It shows God that we want Him so much that we are willing to even seek Him straight through our meal times. We are telling Him I need you so much that I’m not even going to stop seeking you to eat.
Usually, when a person commits to a fast they don’t just fast from food but from everything but God. When I fast I turn off or stay off all of my devices and I use that time exclusively for prayer and Bible study. I call this time a time of consecration where God has my full attention. It’s during this time that God will draw close to us and begin to reveal different things to us. God loves when we put Him first especially when we put Him before our own desires. Part of learning God is learning to trust Him with our lives without us worrying about tomorrow.
This too attracts God to us in a powerful way. When we demonstrate faith in what God has said He responds to us and draws us closer to Himself. Anyone who wants to know God and His will would benefit greatly from this approach. Consecrate yourself through fasting and allow God’s Spirit to begin speaking to you, you’ll be amazed at what He says.
Anyone who has read the Bible would have probably noticed that prayer and fasting are pretty much a married couple. Prayer and fasting compliments each other so well and when combined together they produce incredible results. Let me take a moment to make a point, the things I’m writing here are for those who are seriously seeking God for an answer. Many people think that their modern-day regular routine of just attending church once a week will give them the answers that they are looking for. Let me be the first to tell you, that won’t work.
Serving God and learning His Will is a full-time effort. It’s important that when we engage in a time of consecration with God that we spend lots of time in prayer asking God for the leading of His Spirit. When I sit down to write I always ask God to help me to shut up and be used as an instrument of righteousness. If you talk to God He will talk back, God desires us to come to Him and have a relationship with Him. He desires to reveal Himself to us. Consider Proverbs 3:32 where the Bible teaches us that the secret of the Lord is with the righteous.
Time spent in prayer to the Lord is the best time that anyone could spend. There’s not another activity that a person can engage in that would benefit them as much as a prayer to the Lord. James 5:16 says, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much”. Anyone desiring to know the will of God has to have a regular prayer schedule in their arsenal.

[What Is the Will Of The Father] According To Jesus?

Friends, I want to invite you to download our free guide, “5 Ways To Fight Worry, Anxiousness, And Anxiety With God’s Word”, I’m sure it will bless your soul.
Jesus during His first advent constantly made reference to His Father and the need for Him to do the Father’s Will, but what did He mean? During His ministry, Jesus accomplishes many well-noted miracles and acts of righteousness, but what exactly is the will of the father?
The will of the Father is that we believe in His only begotten Son and what He taught. In addition, it is the Father’s Will that we obey the teachings of Jesus, internalize His teaching, and share them with all who will receive them as outlined in Mark 16:15.
Since Jesus said in Matthew 7:21, “Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven“, I think it’s super important to drill down into what is meant in detail by the term, “Will Of My Father”
When we think about the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ it would be easy to understand the reaction of the centurion soldier recorded in Matthew 27:54, “Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God”. There was so much validation around the ministry of Jesus that one would be hard press to refute His claims. One such occurrence happened on the “Mount Of Olives” when Jesus was transfigured before Peter James and John.
Matthew records this event in the 17th chapter, and in the 5th verse, and it reads, “While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him”. Again, the Father wants us to believe the Son and His message that the Kingdom Of God is at hand, He’s urging repentance. The Father is pointing at the Son and telling the world to follow Him. Acts 4:12 also makes this point when it says, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”.
If you ever follow the life and ministry of Jesus one of the things that you will notice about Him is how on task He stayed. He always seemed to be in tune with what the Father wanted Him to do at any given time, it is a wonderful example to see. The Father points us to Jesus because belief in Jesus is His salvation plan for man. A person can not be reconciled back to a right relationship with God, the Father without faith in what Jesus accomplished at the cross. So yes, It’s the Father’s will that we follow Him.
In John 3:16 this very familiar scripture tells us, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. God doesn’t want anyone perishing this is why He provides a way of escape for anyone who wants it. If we go all the way back to the garden of Eden from the very beginning, at the fall of man God provided a solution for sin. When Adam and Eve sinned and were found naked God provide them with animal skins to cover themselves, not just themselves, but also their sins as well.
In Egypt when God sent the death angel to kill all of the firstborn of the Egyptians, the children of Israel were spared because they were covered by the blood God instructed them to place on their door post. Throughout the entire Old Testament, we see the children of Israel making sacrifice after sacrifice to God for their sins. All of these acts were pointing to the ultimate sacrifice, the Lord Jesus Christ. When Jesus came to the earth He came with a purpose. He wasn’t just born like any other person that comes into the world. Jesus was sent here to redeem mankind for the fall of Adam and Eve.
This is why not just any religion can reconcile mankind to God. When Adam and Eve sinned and covered themselves with fig leaves that represented other religions as well as man’s attempt to restore himself. When God rejected their solution and killed an animal He gave them skins that were sufficient to cover their sins. We know that Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”. Although God’s judgment must be satisfied when sin is committed the best part is He Himself has provided us with a remedy, Glory To God!
