DEAD DRUNK: Brit Drinker Died After 22 Shots In Crooked Strip Club
A British boozer died of alcohol poisoning after being given 22 shots in just 90 minutes on a visit to a Polish strip club, it has emerged.
The victim, named only as 36-year-old Mark C. due to local privacy laws, was already drunk when he arrived with a pal at the Wild Night club in Krakow.
But despite trying to refuse drinks, investigators said he was plied with nearly two dozen powerful shots before he collapsed and later died.
After he collapsed, staff at the club robbed him of 2,200 (GBP 420) in cash, according to the Polish authorities.
Holidaymaker Mark was in Poland as a tourist with his pal, who has not been named, and the pair were apparently lured into the club by an offer of free entry.
Poland's National Prosecutor's Office says that he had a lethal blood alcohol content of at least 4 per mille at the time of his death.
Polish media said that Mark died last month (March), with the police saying on 13th April that they had charged 58 people with being part of organised crime group.
In a series of raids on nightclubs, as can be seen in the footage, police seized suspects and confiscated electronic devices, computers, cash and phones.
The Polish Central Police Investigation Bureau (CBSP) said in a statement obtained by Newsflash that they have filed over 700 criminal charges against the group.
They said the clubs ran a racket where they systematically got punters drunk before robbing them.
Some were even persuaded to take out loans to cover 'debts' run up by the fraudsters.
The authorities said they have arrested the group who forced Mark to drink himself to death.
They said: "One of the leads investigated by the investigators in the case concerns the victim who was driven to a state of intoxication, causing loss of consciousness, and then death as a result of acute alcohol poisoning."
They also said: "The man was not given medical assistance during the incident. Provisional arrests were made against those suspected of this act."
The investigators also said that "CBSP police officers detained another seven people suspected of robberies and fraud on customers of go-go-clubs.
"There are already 58 suspects in the case."
The statement also said: "The officers of the Central Bureau of Investigation of the Police are conducting an investigation into an organised criminal group extorting money from customers of go-go nightclubs."
"According to the findings of the investigators, the activities of the group were aimed at committing crimes to the detriment of club customers by leading them to a state of deprivation of awareness and perception [...].
"The perpetrators, taking advantage of the mental and physical condition of the victims, made payment transactions using payment cards or other financial instruments for goods and services allegedly offered in the club.
"In some cases, through electronic banking, on devices owned by customers, loans were also allowed to be taken or deposits or savings accounts were closed, and the funds accumulated there were transferred to the accounts of companies operating clubs."
The statement continued: "To the persons detained during the recent activities, the Prosecutor presented among other charges, allegations of participation in an organised crime group, committing robberies and fraud to the detriment of clients of clubs from Krakow and Warsaw."
The authorities added: "They include e.g. leading or participating in an organized criminal group. In the case, 31 arrests were also applied, property sureties in the amount of almost PLN 1.6 million [GBP 305,000] and property with a total value of over PLN 6.8 million [GBP 1.3] was secured."
The investigation is ongoing.

MEW MUST BE JOKING: M-Cat Drug Dealer Used Puss Dressed As Baby As Cover
A meow-meow mephedrone dealer who used a cat dressed in baby clothes as a disguise while she made her deliveries has been seized by police.
Officers in Russia arrested the woman as she was dropping off packages of M-CAT to her customers in Nizhny Tagil.
When they searched her and found nothing, they looked at the baby in her arms, and were astonished to see the cat's furry face peering out from under a baby's bobble hat.
It was then that they discovered the confused cat dressed in baby-grow and fleecy papoose coat.
And inside the papoose the officers found bundles of several packages of the cocaine-like drug.
Police photographs of the arrest show the car dressed head to tail in smart baby clothes and the woman even wearing a hat with cat ears.
A video shows the officers removing the puss from the papoose as they search for the drugs.
Then they start to strip search the cat which is even wearing a nappy to make the disguise complete.
A search of the woman's apartment found scales, plastic bags and a further 170 grammes of mephedrone.
The stimulant is better known by its street name 'meow meow', apparently for its links to the East African khat plan.
A spokeswoman for the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk, said: "The cat was wrapped in warm clothes for newborn babies, and she was carrying in her hands as the police approached.
"On closer examination and realised it was a domestic cat.
"After they removed the cap from the clothing, they discovered five bundles with a white powder inside which turned out to be N-methylephedron.”
Local media reports that the dealer is in custody and her real-life daughter and the cat are staying with relatives.

CAUGHT IN A LIE: Man Arrested For Falsely Accusing Officer Of Excessive Force During Traffic Stop
A Florida man has been arrested after he reportedly filed a false complaint claiming he had been abused by officers during a traffic stop.
Suspect Breion Brown was taken into custody by deputies with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and was charged with Making a False Official Statement.
Brown was arrested after he filed an administrative complaint accusing an officer of using excessive force and conducting an illegal search during a traffic stop taking place in Jacksonville, in the US State of Florida on 5th April.
Brown claimed the officer choked him with his vehicle's seat belt, but body camera footage showed his allegations were false.
The Sheriff's Office initiated an Internal Affairs investigation, and detectives from the Integrity and Special Investigations Unit reviewed the evidence.
They found no criminal or policy violations by the officer, leading to Brown's arrest.
He now faces criminal prosecution by the State Attorney's Office.
Sheriff T.K. Waters emphasised the importance of holding individuals accountable for false complaints, stating that victimising officers to push an agenda will not be tolerated.
He reaffirmed the department's commitment to maintaining community trust and serving with integrity, transparency, and respect.

Police Dogs Catch Man Who Stole Refrigerated Semi-Truck With More Than GBP 150,000 Worth Of Food
A man who stole a refrigerated semi-truck with more than GBP 150,000 worth of food has been jailed after he was caught by a couple of police dogs.
Police in the city of Ocala, Florida State, USA, arrested Alain Marti-Rosell, 39, after they were alerted about a stolen semi-truck at around 10.40pm on Sunday, 9th April 2023.
Since the vehicle was equipped with a GPS tracker, officers located Marti-Rosell through the Berkshire Oaks Plaza, more than two miles from where he had stolen the truck.
But when officer Barker attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the 39-year-old got out of the vehicle and ran into a walled retention pond area.
Cops then brought in police dogs Brinkley and Diesel to track him down.
Soon after the dogs spotted Marti-Rosell waist-deep in the water near a dense thicket of trees, who police claimed had his back turned towards them.
The Ocala Police Department said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: "With his hands hidden from view, Officer Brinkley commanded K-9 Diesel to take action, leading to a swift and successful apprehension.
"The stolen semi-truck and refrigerated trailer contained fresh seafood and meats worth over USD 200,000 [GBP 159,850].
"Officers also discovered the lock on the trailer had been cut and a box of tuna fish opened."
The offender - who police discovered was not a US citizen - was taken to the hospital where he was treated for a dog bite, after which he was transported to Marion County Jail.
He was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle, grand theft of cargo valued at USD 50,000 (GBP 39,957) or more, grand theft, dealing stolen property, and resisting without violence.
The Ocala Police Department thanked everyone involved in the operation for the successful mission.

MOOSE ON THE LOOSE: Elk Enters Hospital Lobby To Get Some Morning Greens
An elk startled staff and patients at a hospital in the USA, after it entered the lobby and munched on the decorative plants.
The hungry animal reportedly stormed right into the lobby of Providence Alaska Medical Centre in the city of Anchorage, Alaska, USA, after it spotted the potted plants on Thursday, 7th April.
A video shows the moment the elk strolls through the front doors looking for some morning greens, leaving hospital employees and patients shocked by the unusual view.
Medical centre spokesperson Mikal Canfield said in an interview with Newsflash: "The initial reaction was surprise.
"Alaskans see moose in the community all of the time, but they rarely come inside of a building.
"Once people became aware of the moose, everyone moved away from it to give the moose some space.
"When the security team arrived, their focus was on ensuring the safety of everyone inside the lobby, including the moose.
"And of course everyone was taking pictures and videos."
Canfield suspected that the creature came inside to get to the plans, which he claimed that "unlike everything outside right now - are green and pretty inviting to a moose spending its days in snow".
He added: "Many people joked about the hospital salad bar receiving moose approval."
The Providence Alaska Medical Centre employee revealed that the automatic doors which the elk entered through, were propped open to help get the animal back outside.
He said: "Members of the security team created a wall around the moose by moving some of the lobby furniture.
"Thankfully, the moose became aware of the people and things around it and went back outside.
"Once security arrived, it took about 15 minutes to encourage the moose to leave the building."
Canfield said that the situation would have probably had a different turn of events if the elk had been an adult, and added: "The moose was young and more curious and confused than anything else.
"Adult moose tend to be more aggressive. Nobody was injured.
"To people who live in Alaska and see moose all the time, the whole incident was viewed with amusement and just another day in Alaska."

The NYPD 19th Precinct's Harbor Unit responded to the scene and used a catch pole to rescue the animal from the strong currents.
The female coyote was subsequently examined by a veterinarian and handed over to New York Animal Care Centers, which will return her to the wild.
The precinct noted that while coyotes are common in New York City, finding one swimming in the East River is a rare occurrence.

ARTFUL TRACTOR: Amazing Picasso Tribute In Field
This is the amazing tribute to Pablo Picasso made in a field by an Italian artist with a tractor, plough, and rotary harrow.
Artist Dario Gambarin based his incredible creation on the Spanish painter's famous 1907 self-portrait.
Titled "Free Picasso!", the Italian carved the work - without the use of technology - into a 25,000-square-metre field outside Castagnaro, Verona Province.
He created it to mark the 50th anniversary of the passing of Picasso, which happened on 8th April 1973.
Gambarin, who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna 30 years ago, told Newsflash in an interview: "I would call my land art 'eco land art' because I only use the land for a week in the window after the harvest and before reseeding.
"Wheat, soy, or corn stubble become the colour of my canvases. It is an ephemeral art. The portraits last from a few hours to a week and then vanish because the sun, the wind, and the rain deteriorate them."
Gambarin, who is also a lawyer and psychotherapist, said: "I only work with my imagination. I'm like a blind painter when I'm on the tractor. I can't see anything.
"I have a great sense of space and proportion. I fix the image in my head, I draw the portrait several times on the table, and then I go and execute it in the earth.
"For this art form you have to use your imagination - not being able to control the space. When you work are in artistic trance.
"It's a great satisfaction after seeing the work I had imagined by seeing the aerial photos.
"I work a few weeks a year to continue working with tractors so as not to lose the manual skills that are very important for my job.
"They must be filmed immediately as soon as they are finished. My works are performances that must be performed and completed without interruptions. They do not admit mistakes - it's like having cut a canvas.
"I don't use GPS or other systems. This job is really hard and you can't go wrong."
As well as his eco land art, Gambarin has worked with acrylic and oil on canvas and has specialised in faces and portraits, as well as neo-expressionist abstract painting.
He has more than 50 international exhibitions to his name.
He is also a musician who plays the piano and sometimes conducts small orchestras.
On what inspired him to create his latest work, he told Newsflash: "I hope others, when they see my work, will understand that the Earth too can give deep and true messages, and, above all, that a conscience develops to respect our planet."

TOP OF THE BILL: Rare Pelican Chicks Delight Zoo Fans 2
These are the rare zoo newcomers that wildlife fans just cannot wait to chick out.
The endangered Dalmatian pelican youngsters are growing fast thanks to their diligent mum and dad and a constant flow of regurgitated fish.
Fans got a chance to see them in the nest with mum thanks to video footage from keepers at their home in Schoenbrunn Zoo, in the Austrian capital Vienna.
In the footage - shot when they were just days old - mum keeps up a steady flow of food the two chicks seem to squabble like any other siblings.
Now - three weeks later - the chicks are starting to come into the striking white and grey plumage of their parents.
Keeper Kathrin Stoiser said in a statement obtained by Newsflash on Thursday, 13th April: "We're over the moon!"
The species - Pelecanus crispus - is regarded as the world's largest freshwater bird with a wingspan of around three metres (8.8 feet).
It reportedly got its name due to the ruffed feathers on their heads, the zoo explained.
Native to Southeastern Europe and Asia, Dalmatian pelicans rarely breed in zoos and are listed as 'Vulnerable' on IUCN's Red List of Threatened Species.
Their population decline is predominantly due to habitat loss and attacks by fishermen and tourists.
Stoiser said: "Pelicans are colony breeders. They value the safety of the group.
"We thought that our group was still too small and didn't count on having offspring.
"Recently, however, pelicans from the Salzburg Zoo, which once hatched here, have arrived.
"It might have helped that they were used to the routine and domestic usage on our pelican island."
Stoiser added: "Both parents take turns warming the chicks.
"You can see the little ones best when the parents are taking turns at the nest and when they are feeding the little ones with pre-digested fish."

FEMALE BROTHEL BOSSES SEIZED: Police Free Trafficked Vice 'Prisoners'
This is the moment a special police unit frees women tricked into prostitution and drugs by female vice bosses.
The shabby brothel, in Valencia, south-eastern Spain, was raided by a heavily armed National Police unit who arrested five suspects in a series of raids on 11th April.
It was part of a crackdown on brothels in the tourist hot spot, according to police.
Eight women were freed in the raids, who were kept in "subhuman" conditions like prisoners, according to the police.
Police video footage of the raid, obtained by Newsflash, shows sex workers crammed into one bedsit with bunks and grubby mattresses covering the floor.
As they smash their way in with battering rams and sledgehammers, police swarm through the building armed with handguns and body armour.
All other rooms in the property were used as bedrooms where the women - victims of human trafficking - were forced to have sex.
Surveillance cameras had been installed in the rooms, filming them as they had sex with clients.
The police described the living conditions as subhuman.
Brothel keepers - reported local media - ordered them to perform specific acts from a sex tariff depending on how much clients paid.
The woman, they say, had to be available at any time day or night.
The sex workers also had to take part in so-called 'white parties' where sex and drugs are given to clients.
Many, say local media reports, were brutalised before they submitted to work as prostitutes and there were severe punishments for anyone who refused.
Police confiscated EUR 72,000 in cash (GBP 63,300) in cash and seized stashes of cocaine and marijuana.
A laptop, mobile phones and diaries - believed to contain details of punters and their appointments - were also taken away by police.
Spanish police said five suspects had been arrested and eight women freed in the raids.
The female gang boss allegedly told the women how to dress and forced them to hand over half of their income.
Five suspects - who remain in custody - face charges of forming a criminal organisation, organising illegal prostitution and breaching public health regulations.
In a statement obtained by Newsflash, the National Police said: "Agents of the National Police have arrested five people in the province of Valencia and have released eight victims of sexual exploitation who lived crowded on mattresses on the floor.
"They have broken up a criminal organisation that sexually exploited its victims. They deceived them through advertisements on contact pages with false economic promises, taking advantage of their irregular situation and vulnerability.
"Those involved determined what type of sexual practices their victims had to carry out, imposing economic sanctions if they refused and having to be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week."
Police said the gang bosses forced the girls to work by imposing "abusive conditions" on them.
They explained: "The victims remained in subhuman living quarters.
"The leader of the organisation gave them instructions on how to serve customers or if they were made up or dressed correctly to serve them.
"It also controlled the time spent on sexual services and the money they obtained for it.
"The victims were monitored with video surveillance cameras installed on the dating floors, in such a way that they captured their every movement."
Investigations into the sex cartel are ongoing.

TURTLEY AWESOME: Conservation Win As 86 Giant Tortoises Introduced On Galapagos Island
This heartwarming footage shows how conservationists released 86 young giant tortoises bred in captivity into their natural habitat in the Galapagos Islands.
The Galapagos giant tortoise (Chelonoidis niger) is the largest living species of tortoise, with some specimens weighing up to 417 kilogrammes (919 lb).
Its 13 extant subspecies are classified by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) from "extinct in the wild" to "vulnerable".
The recently-released specimens were bred in captivity on Santa Cruz Island and introduced on Espanola Island after they reached five years old.
They belong to the Hood Island giant tortoise (Chelonoidis niger hoodensis) subspecies and are listed by the IUCN as "critically endangered".
The Galapagos National Park, Ecuador, said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: "The Galapagos National Park Directorate, in conjunction with Galapagos Conservancy, released 86 hatchlings of the Chelonoidis hoodensis species from Espanola Island, aged between five and six years, into their natural habitat. The specimens were from the breeding and rearing centre in captivity on Santa Cruz Island.
"These tortoises were part of the captive breeding programme for the Espanola Island species, which was closed in 2021. They have now reached the ideal morphometric measurements to be safely incorporated into the ecosystem of the island. Prior to repatriation, they underwent an extended quarantine process, internal and external deworming, and each one was given an identification microchip. They were then transported by helicopter to the south-central part of Espanola with the purpose of accelerating their dispersion through the tortoises' living area so that they can fulfil their role in the environment."
Danny Rueda Cordova, director of the Galapagos National Park, said: "The conservation efforts implemented by the National Government, in synergy with our strategic allies, have been fundamental to carry out successful ecological restoration programmes like this one, which has been a work of more than five decades. This captive breeding programme, combined with the management actions implemented on the island, gives us the peace of mind that we have saved a species that would otherwise have become extinct."
And Washington Tapia, executive director of Galapagos Conservancy, added: "The repopulation of Espanola with tortoises has been a key element in the ecological restoration process of the island, as they are the main herbivores and contribute to clearing the areas where albatrosses land when they come to the island to reproduce and nest. Although the tortoise breeding programme for this island closed in June 2021, around 267 hatchlings remained in captivity until they reached the appropriate age for repatriation. This time, 86 tortoises were released into their habitat, and we will gradually return the rest."
The Galapagos National Park said: "The group of tortoises that have not yet reached the conditions to survive on their own in their native island will remain in the Fausto Llerena breeding centre. This programme included the famous 'Diego', the male tortoise that was recovered from the San Diego Zoo (USA) and became a symbol of Galapagos conservation, as it is estimated that approximately 40 per cent of the tortoise repatriated to Espanola Island are his descendants."

KNIFEMAN SEIZED: Machete-Wielding Suspect Arrested During Burglary Investigation
This is the dramatic moment officers arrest a machete-wielding suspect who tried to flee after police responded to a commercial burglary alarm.
The incident began when the alarm sounded off at a South Hill orthodontist's office in Pierce County, in the US State of Washington on 25th March.
Upon arrival, the deputy saw a man exiting the business and ordered him to stop and show his hands.
However, the suspect refused and walked away, revealing a machete tucked in his sleeve.
The deputy followed the suspect, maintaining distance while using de-escalation tactics.
When the suspect armed himself with the machete, the deputy requested a less-lethal backup and a K9 unit.
Backup arrived, and the deputies fired less-lethal bean bag rounds at the suspect, but they proved ineffective.
After a continued foot chase and additional less-lethal rounds, the suspect finally surrendered.
The 27-year-old man was arrested and booked into jail on charges of first-degree burglary, resisting arrest, and obstructing.

HEROES ON DUTY: Firefighters' Body-Cam Footage Shows Daily Dangers As They Battle House Fire
This shocking footage shows firefighters battling a raging inferno that engulfed an entire house and demonstrates the dangers first responders face daily.
Body-cam footage obtained by Newsflash from the Fort Smith Fire Department shows firemen trying to put out a massive house fire in Fort Smith, in the US State of Arkansas.
The footage captures the challenges and risks firefighters face almost every single day, which often go unnoticed by the public.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the fire.
However, the video highlights the increased risk of cancer among firefighters.
In 2022, the International Association of Firefighters added 469 names to their memorial wall, with 348 of them succumbing to occupational cancer.
First responders are 14 per cent more likely to die from cancer than the general population, according to the Firefighter Cancer Support Network.
Many fire departments across the country have adopted protective uniforms, decon buckets for cleaning, and exhaust vents in their stations to mitigate these risks.

Naked And Bloody Burglar Suspect Has Been Arrested After Breaking Into Two Houses
A naked and bloodied man in the USA has been arrested for burglary after he broke into two houses under the influence of drugs.
Deputies from the Volusia Sheriff's Office in the city of DeBary, Florida State, USA, rushed to apprehend Blake Tokman, aged 34, after they received a call he had broken inside two homes at Highbanks Road.
He had reportedly smashed out the windows of one house to break in, before leaving and forcing his way into another home at around 2am on Friday, 7th April 2023.
Both homes were occupied at the time of the break-ins, police claimed.
When officers arrived on site, they spotted Tokman fully naked in the back yard of the second house, who then took off running and jumped in the swimming pool.
He then reportedly climbed out of the pool and leapt onto a trampoline where he laid flat but resisted the cop's attempts to cuff him.
Police revealed that Tokman's body was covered in wheel bearing grease, peppermint oil, and blood during the incident.
He also appeared to be under the influence of drugs, according to officers.
Volusia Sheriff's Office said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: "It took four deputies to get him into custody, plus three more medical professionals to secure him on a stretcher for evaluation and treatment of injuries he caused himself.
"During the incident, Tokman kicked or struck three of the deputies, one of whom sustained a laceration to his arm."
He was later charged with two counts of occupied burglary, three counts of battery on a law enforcement officer, two counts of criminal mischief, and resisting arrest with violence.
After going through further medical evaluation and treatment, he was booked into Volusia County Branch Jail.

The 20-year-old suspect - not named by police - had taken officers on a high-speed chase through city streets in Dearborn, in Wayne County, in the US state of Michigan on Friday, 7th April.
But when he realised he could not outrun them, he abandoned the car outside a Walmart store and pretended to be a shop worker.
Police followed him in and saw through his ludicrous disguise in seconds as he pretended to check stock in the warehouse.
Michigan State Police said in a statement obtained by Newsflash on Sunday, 9th April: "The suspect fled inside of the store and attempted to disguise himself as a Walmart worker."
They went on: "The suspect was identified by troopers in the back stockroom and the suspect ran through the store again until he was taken into custody near the front door.
"The suspect vehicle was towed from the scene. The 20-year-old male from Redford was lodged."
Police footage of the chase shot from a police helicopter shows the Dodge weaving in and out of traffic before screeching to a halt outside the store.
The police statement continued: "While on patrol over the district, MSP Aviation (Trooper 2) observed a black in color Dodge Charger driving recklessly at a high rate of speed on the freeways and on surface streets.
"A trooper saw the suspect vehicle and provided the suspect driver’s description but was unable to attempt a traffic stop.
"A sergeant attempted to make a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle but the driver did not stop and there was no pursuit.
"Trooper 2 continued to follow the suspect vehicle for approximately 45 minutes all over Wayne County roadways.
"A sergeant was finally able to get the plate on the suspect vehicle when it slowed down due to traffic congestion. The vehicle was reported stolen.
"Trooper 2 continued to follow the suspect vehicle until the suspect parked in the Dearborn Walmart parking lot."
Police spokesperson Mike Shaw said: "This suspect pretty much checked all the boxes for what we have been seeing lately.
"Reckless driving, failing to stop for police and having a stolen car. But again you can't outrun a helicopter, so now he is in jail."

SPIDEY SENSE: Homeless Woman Replaces Spider-Man Bike Stolen From Three-Year-Old Boy
A homeless woman living in her car has been hailed a superhero after she bought a new Spider-Man bike after a thief stole a three-year-old boy's treasured toy.
Mum Liz Fuller-Wright had left the bike outside a store while they shopped in the city of Rockland, in the US state of Maine, at the end of March.
Liz said: "We went to Walgreens, and we stopped and put his bike on the sidewalk and then decided to give him a little candy treat and say, 'Woo hoo, you made it half a mile.'"
She added: "We came out, and the bike wasn't there. And I walked up and down the length of the sidewalk thinking because there's those big cement columns, so I thought maybe I just couldn't see it. But it wasn't there."
"It was a mix of emotions. I mean, sad, disappointed, you know, angry at the state of humanity. He's three years old. This is his first bike
"And you don't want to think that anybody would do that."
CCTV footage released by police shows a man on a bike with what seems to be the stolen toy.
Astonished police were later contacted by a homeless woman who had heard about the theft.
Despite having to give up her home and live in her car, she had bought an exact copy of the missing bike complete with Spider-Man helmet.
And in true superhero style, she insisted on keeping her identity secret.
Rockland Police Department broke the good news in a statement obtained by Newsflash.
They said: "Last night, a superhero (who wishes to remain anonymous), stopped by the Rockland Police Department and donated a brand new Spider-Man bicycle, matching helmet and bike lock for our young victim!
"The hero wanted nothing in return, but in speaking to one of our officers, we learned a little about her own recent struggles that made this gesture even more heartfelt.
"The woman, who lives all the way in Oxford County, saw our post and felt as if she just had to do something to help.
"Unfortunately, she was recently forced to choose between making her rent or vehicle payment.
"Not wanting to default on the car loan, she is now currently unhoused and living out of her vehicle."
They added: "Her own struggles did not deter the woman however; and she selflessly purchased a new bike, helmet and lock at a local Wal-Mart and made the drive to Rockland.
"The women’s generosity was contagious and a clerk who heard what she was doing, gave her money to help pay for tolls.
"Today officers were happily able to hand over the donated bike and equipment to the victim’s mother; who was overwhelmed by the generosity of others."
Mum Liz told local media: "I was able to give her a call and we spoke for a few minutes, and she told me her story.
"And I just couldn't believe it. She's not someone flush with cash.
"But she gave so much, so generously to a little boy she'd never met, never known. Because she wanted him to be happy.
"She didn't want him to think that there were that there were bad guys in the world. She wanted him to have faith in humanity."
The woman's generosity has triggered an outpouring from locals wanting to help her.
The police said that while they were not allowed to raise money themselves, they wanted to point people interested in helping the homeless woman towards the Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition, who they said were "collecting funds for those who wish to donate to the woman."
The Mid-Coast Recovery Coalition (MCRC), a local non-profit that was created to support individuals and families dealing with addiction issues, had reportedly collected nearly USD 1,200 (GBP 965) in donations for the homeless woman as thanks for her generosity.
