A Ukrainian Leopard 1A5 is disabled by artillery and abandoned by its crew somewhere south of Andriivka. The tank skirts a tree line before traversing an open field, where an artillery round lands nearby. The tank reverses, attempting to back out of harm’s way, but another round impacts close aboard, bringing the vehicle to a stop. According to the source, shrapnel from that artillery round damaged the engine, disabling the vehicle. Several more rounds land near the tank, forcing the crew to abandon the vehicle. A Ukrainian drone provides a final inspection of the Leopard, which, despite being disabled, shows few signs of damage. There is a good chance that this tank can be recovered and returned to service. The designers of the Leopard tank theorized that contemporary anti-tank weapons could defeat most armor, and so focused their attention on mobility and firepower. Though this is by no means a catastrophic kill, the fact that an artillery round can so easily disable a Leopard is testament to the platform’s poor protection. Knowing the tank’s shortcomings, one would think that the Ukrainians would put more thought and care into its employment. Sending a tank, or any vehicle for that matter, trundling through the countryside alone and unafraid is a good way to lose tanks, no matter how tough they are.

An Iranian drone tracked US Navy ships in the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group (CSG) transiting the Strait of Hormuz on the 26th, releasing footage of the ships recently. The Strait of Hormuz is a short stretch of water between the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman, and only 35 miles wide. On one side (North) is Iran, the other, UAE/Oman. Footage provided by a Ukrainian drone equipped with a thermal camera. Two Russian soldiers appear center screen, one sitting and one curled in the fetal position. The heat signature indicates that both are alive, and the sitting soldier fiddles nervously with the pistol-grip of his rifle. The drone drops what appears to be a modified grenade on the sitting soldier, which glances off his helmet and lands next to him, but the soldier appears not to react. The camera is good enough to distinguish some facial features, but there seems to be no reaction on his face, and his fingers restlessly play an unheard tune on his rifle. The grenade explodes, sending blast and shrapnel into the man’s leg, chest, and face. He rolls over onto his belly, clutching his face. The employment of drones has changed warfare, and drones with thermals mean that even the night offers no rest or respite.

This IDF-provided footage shows the Maglan commando brigade's day and night activities in Gaza. The Maglan brigade is officially a "Sayeret" (reconnaisance) unit, but it performs a blend of special operations activities and is considered one of the most demanding units in the IDF, with an 18 month training pipeline and 2/3 washout rate. In a recurring tactic in this video, the soldiers fire into spaces before occupying them, blending CQB with recon-by-fire. That is, with the exception of a soldier with a recoilless rifle at 0:53 who has elected to forego room clearing by removing the rooms.

TSA Agents at Miami-Dade Airport used the screening process to distract passengers so they could steal hundreds of dollars. Josue Gonzalez and Labarrius Williams were arrested in July, and documents from the investigation describe the Federal employees using the screening process to distract passengers so they could steal hundreds of dollars in cash. Gonzalez reportedly weaseled out of prosecution as he qualified for a deferment program that allows him to take a class. Williams has a court date set for October. By the fluidity demonstrated in their recorded thievery, this likely wasn't their first time stealing from passengers.
