With the attacks on the Civilian Infrastructure of Donetsk and surrounding areas yesterday Ukraine shelling destroyed 2 clothing enterprises and damaged a jail and water distribution point for the city in the center of Donetsk next to "DMZ" steel plant. What was the target of this shelling attack on the center of Donetsk? Was Ukraine trying to hit the DMZ metal plant? Or maybe hurt the Donetsk water supply? Maybe they wanted to destroy a cloth enterprise? Or maybe even still they were trying to kill or break free POWs from jail. With Today being another day of Attacks On Donetsk and the surrounding areas Journalists were racing to many shelling sites. Our team, myself & journalist Alexander Sheremet, filmed many homes and the Makiivka Chemical plant hit by artillery and/or mortar fire. After we reported at several civilian areas we went to Vostochnie Makiivka which was actively being shelled. At least 30 shells rained down all around me and journalist Alexander Sheremet while we were there. Many homes were damaged but we were able to report and made it to safety back in Donetsk. This is our report while under shelling. Donetsk has become a center of attacks in the last weeks and particularly yesterday with a reported over 350 shells hitting the city. One of the main maternity hospitals was hit. On our way into Donetsk, we went to investigate the attacks on the hospital. We found a heavily damaged hospital with hundreds of expecting mothers, babies, and new mothers hiding in the basement. One baby was even born in the basement. The mothers, nurses, and doctors all blame Ukraine for attacking their hospital and other civilian areas in Donetsk over the last 8 years.
