When fall comes the trees put on a wonderful show of color over several weeks. Have you ever wondered why this happens? Why do some colors appear before others? Why do some trees have certain colors? What is the purpose of trees losing their leaves? Why do evergreens not change color? These are some of the questions we will explore in the episode in addition to what this fall transformation can teach us about spiritual transformation and our Creator God.

What’s with Offerings, Praise, & Worship? Basics of Christian Living 7/9
SUPPORT THE SHOW: https://evidence4faith.org/give/

Is there a difference between Praise and Worship? Isn’t singing worshipping? And what’s the deal with offerings? Is there a “correct” amount to give? What about all the abuses around offerings and pastors with mega-mansions and private jets? If you attend church regularly these are questions you’ve likely had in the back of your mind. Unfortunately, they are not always adequately addressed from the pulpit. This lesson seeks to help you understand the Biblical definitions and origins of praise, worship, and offerings, so that you can develop a healthy understanding of how to incorporate these things into your daily Christian life (and be weary of those who would pervert it!).
This lesson is a part of the Basics of Christian Living series. This 10-part series is focused on how to practice daily Christian living according to God’s instructions through the Bible. An uprooted tree will typically die as its roots no longer bring water and nutrients into it. But there is a rare occurrence in which a dying tree can experience abundant life! This natural but rare phenomenon is a great illustration for our own spiritual condition. Without God, we are spiritually dead. We deserve death. But God offers us abundant life through Jesus Christ!

The importance of logic and design for evidence of God [CREATION CLUES S01E02] (Re-Upload)
SUPPORT THE SHOW: https://evidence4faith.org/give/
Reference this lesson and find out more here: https://evidence4faith.org/portfolio/logic-design-evidence-of-god/
In this episode of Creation Clues we are looking at the concept of logic and design in nature. The dominant secular view is that everything came into existence by random chance. But does random create patterns and order? We know and can test that intelligence creates patterns and order. Thus, logic helps us deduce that if something is designed, there must have been intelligence behind it. In this episode we look under the microscope at how even the smallest of clues in nature can give us evidence of a God through evidence of design.

The secret to a good marriage is hard work. The secret to a good Christian marriage is the discipline to follow God’s design for marriage and hard work. The Bible has a lot to say about the relationship between a husband and his wife, their roles and responsibilities, and how they should comport themselves in public and private. A recurring theme is submission to God and submission to each other. But the word “submission” might leave a bad taste in your mouth as it has been used to justify abusive practices. This lesson will help you work through God’s design for marriage and your responsibilities as a married individual. This lesson also covers the controversial Ephesians 5:22-24 verses on wifely submission (spoiler: husbands, verses 25-33 are specifically for you! Don’t skip it!).

CONTENT ADVISORY: This lesson talks about dating, fondling, and other sex-related topics. This lesson DOES NOT go into overt details nor gives instructions on sexual acts. The most explicit content in this lesson is from the reading of Ezekiel 23 which describes a story of prostitution. Parents of minors are recommended to listen to this lesson to determine if it is appropriate for their children. If you are a minor (under 18) who found this lesson on your own, we recommend you only continue listening if you are prepared to discuss it with a trusted adult and (if applicable) the individual you are dating.
Do you feel frustrated, confused, or disillusioned by modern dating? Have you tried searching the Bible for specific verses on dating and come up empty? Why has God not just sent you “the one”? The truth is dating as we know it today only started in the 1960s, centuries after the Bible was put together. You will not find specific advice in the Bible on modern dating for today’s cultural context. What you will find is instructions, advice, and principles about relationships and sexual relationships which apply throughout human history, no matter the culture. In this lesson you will learn how to find God’s instructions related to topics of dating and sex in scripture, and work through common questions and myths about Christian dating.

Online church has become the norm and current trends indicate in-person church attendance is shrinking. But this is not a new problem. With our modern impressions or understanding of church, some may feel out of place or disconnected and really question the purpose of their local church. Is church necessary to a Christian’s faith? This lesson will help you understand what church is meant to be and how to plug into a church to strengthen your faith.

When a person becomes a Christian, they are forgiven of all their sins! But guilt often stays behind and it can be difficult to forgive ourselves and find a way forward. Old and new Christians can find themselves stuck down memory lane and unable to live in the joy of their salvation. In this lesson you will learn about forgiveness, repentance, and guilt and how to deal with past sins that just don’t seem to leave you alone.

What happens when you wake up in the middle of a dumpster fire (often of our own making)? There’s infighting, depression, and stress among your team. You have no confidence in yourself as a leader and feel cold or dead inside. You may also realize that you are in spiritual decay and feel far from God. The good news is that this does not have to be the end. David found himself in a similar situation, down in the spiritual pit, far form the presence of God. This lesson will explain the tools you need to get out of the dumpster fire and back on the path to success with your leadership and your followers.

Today’s lesson isn’t so much about David as it is about a smart woman who intervenes between two hot headed men. As a continuation of our previous lesson on revenge, this lesson is a broader view of how to react to problems when they arise. Letting our emotions guide our response can easily lead to more problems and rash decision making. So, what method do we use to stay level-headed? It involves patience, time, and steady calmness when you want to absolutely freak out inside.

There are two constants in this fallen, sinful, and depraved world when it comes to leadership: you will be mistreated by leaders, and you will mistreat others. The question is, what do you do about it? When opportunities for revenge arise, it is tempting to seek personal justice and humiliate those who offended us. However wise, dependable, and godly leaders and their teams are not forged in the pits of revenge. They are forged through the fire of holiness and holy living. David had several opportunities for revenge on King Saul. This becomes a defining moment for his followers and a teaching moment for us on how to act when the temptation for revenge arises.

“If you have one person in this world you can call a close friend, you are rich.” – James Lane.
Do you feel “lonely at the top”? Or perhaps you know a friend who is “lonely at the top.” An overlooked piece of leadership is relationships, especially that with friends and/or family. Leaders need people in a similar way that people need leaders. If you are a leader, who are your close friends supporting, counseling, and encouraging you in your leadership role? If you are friends with a leader, how are you supporting, advising, and encouraging your leader? This lesson is all about the power of friendship in leadership and will help you discern what kind of person you need to find or maybe you need to be.

The Interlinear Bible is the most literal word-for-word translation you can get! This Bible contains the ancient text in Hebrew, Chaldean, and Greek from the oldest manuscripts available. Under each word is the English equivalent. This Bible is the most accurate Bible in terms of translation, however, it is not the most readable as the English words are not rearranged for comprehension or syntax. You might find that sentences read backwards! But the Bible also comes with helpful guides and structures to help you understand the ancient text. Listen in to find out more about how this Bible is designed and how to use it as part of a Bible study toolkit.

Trouble is brewing! Burnout, depression, and anxiety are not uncommon between victories. It is tempting to run away and hide but that can lead us into darker places. In this lesson we will be looking at one of the “not to do” examples from David’s early life and how to deal with these periods of great mental, spiritual, and/or physical depression after a great success.

The Good News Translation was the first easy-to-read Bible to hit the market. It became popular very quickly with teens and was the most popular Bible in the United Kingdom by 1991. There have been more easy-to-read or children/teen Bibles that have come out since. The GNT was put together by only 7 translators using a dynamic approach (thought-for-thought). Some scholars regard the GNT as a paraphrase and take issue with its potentially misleading doctrine. Listen in to find out more about this translation and how it can be used.

Everyone likes winning, especially when you work hard for it or feel like you deserve it. But much like winning the lottery, victory is often followed by darker companions. After a great victory against Goliath, David suddenly found himself at the end of Saul’s spear. As leaders it’s important we know how to handle victories even when things turn sour shortly after. David’s story provides a lot of insight on how to do this well while keeping the most important thing in focus: our relationship with God.

Depression affects Christians and non-Christians alike, no matter their station in life. One skill that David is remembered for in scripture is his ability to play music and sing. He was often summoned by a troubled King Saul to play the lyre and wrote many of the Psalms to be sung. These songs and music were often played during times of great distress. There are even scientific studies looking at how singing can combat symptoms of depression. Listen in to find out how you can use singing as tool in your own life and lead with a song in your heart.
