It features "over-the-shoulder" third-person shooter gameplay similar to the original, while drawing from the remakes of Resident Evil 2 (2019) and Resident Evil 3 (2020). Resident Evil 4 features redesigned visuals, designed to create a tenser atmosphere, along with new character designs and backgrounds. It offers six control schemes, including one styled after the original game. Occasionally the player must solve simple puzzles. In some sequences, Leon must protect the president's daughter, Ashley. She uses a simpler health system than in the original, and can be instructed to stay close or far. As in the original game, the player organizes their inventory with an "attaché case". New to the remake, a crafting system enables the player to create items and ammunition using resources collected throughout the game. The fan-favorite Merchant returns, allowing the player to buy, upgrade, and trade items. He will provide new side quests that may be completed during the main story. Similarly to the original, the focus of combat is shooting enemies and reloading. However, Leon can now move and use weapons at the same time, allowing him to evade attacks while firing. Leon can also use melee attacks to injure enemies and push them away. A new parrying mechanic allows him to block, counter attacks, and kill a downed enemy with his knife. Unlike the original, Leon's knife now has a durability meter, if broken the player will have to speak to the Merchant to get it repaired and he can also increase its durability. BUCKSHOT ROULETTE Buckshot Roulette is a 2023 short indie tabletop horror video game developed and published by Mike Klubnika on itch.io. It was released on Steam by Critical Reflex on April 4, 2024, to coincide with a new update. The game has been likened to the 2021 roguelike game Inscryption, featuring gritty and industrial visuals as opposed to Inscryption's more rustic and mythical style. Klubnika developed the game in the Godot game engine, and also composed the game's soundtrack. Released on December 28, 2023, Buckshot Roulette became popular online in early 2024 and was praised by critics and players for its strategic gameplay and replay value. The player and the Dealer can respawn indefinitely during rounds 1 and 2, but during round 3 the defibrillator's wires are cut if a party has two or fewer charges left, with the affected party entering a "sudden death" mode that forces the player to restart from the beginning if they lose. If the magazine is emptied and neither party has lost all their charges, the Dealer loads the shotgun again with another load of shells. Starting on round 2, a set of items is distributed to each party along with every load to give different advantages; two are given during round 2, and four are given during round 3. EA announced a remake of Dead Space in July 2021, to be developed by EA's Motive Studios. Among lead staff include senior producer Philippe Ducharme, creative director Roman Campos-Oriola, and art director Mike Yazijian, all whom had worked on titles within the Dead Space series. The remake was built in the Frostbite Engine, rebuilding all the systems from scratch for it and introducing new features such as volumetric and dynamic lighting.
