Proving to someone back in the day that my memory manipulation method of spawning gear worked against DayZero's anticheat.

My idea for a server wipe was to teleport to each person one after another with infinite ammo and aimbot. Worked pretty well lmao

At the time, the normal Arma2 God mode methods didn't work. DayZ mod reimplemented health - instead of the damage table, you had a 'blood' level. 0 blood meant death. I don't remember how I implemented this particular God Mode, but God Modes tended to fall into two categories - Script god mode, which stopped zombies and players from hurting you Engine God mode (vanilla Arma 2 health system God mode), which stopped falling and doors from killing you (back in the day, closing a door on yourself would break your legs or kill you) I figured out Engine before script, but eventually figured out how to manipulate script variables from memory. I think what I did for this God mode was found the Blood script variable, and boosted it back up to full. This was obviously a race condition - if someone shot me in the face with an AS50 blood would go below 0 and death would occur.

We played Rust for some reason. At the time, it used a totally different engine and had no anti cheat. I figured out position setting and I think I used velocity because I didn't have enough information from the game world to do a teleport, so I'd make myself skate around the world real fast. We didn't play Rust long, so I never came back to this.

This put me on the map. To my knowledge, I was the first person to implement (or at least, release) a method for spawning items through memory manipulation. At the time, everyone was calling engine functions to do it. Which is fine, except Battleye started breakpointing them and checking the call site, which he used to pop people who used it. So, I manually constructed the objects for items in memory and mapped them into my player. This crashed the game eventually, btw, because I was using normal allocators and not Arma's TBB4Malloc allocator. Eventually, I would figure out that I needed to allocate memory using whatever Arma was using, and we'd have stable item spawning from memory. Those were the days.

I don't remember exactly what the zoom/optic structures looked at in Arma 2. But, I figured it out back in 2013, and decided to slap some sort of DMR scope on a 9mm Glock and shoot people with it. Of course, I forgot the killfeed would announce to everyone that I was popping people 300mm away with a handgun.

This was when I was originally figuring out how to make weapons fire different bullets. I originally did this by making a sniper rifle shoot rockets. Here, I had integrated selecting a munition into the hack itself so you could choose. Turns out if you made a Machete use bullets, it would fire them out like one bullet per frame. So I was messing with it and slaying and accidentally took out an admin driving a bus - which is what's in this video.

2022 Douggem here - still don't know what I was accidentally increasing to cause this effect. Back in 2013 I believe I was trying to make teleporting not cause your 3rd person character to disappear, and I ended up accidentally messing with something that caused this.

This was my very first hack. I was trying to find player position using Cheat Engine and found my way to range instead. I got the base address and offset scan using CE's pointer scan.
