Lord Shiva is known as Mahakaleshwar or ‘Lord of time’ and the historic temple in Ujjain worships this form of the Hindu deity. As per Hindu mythology, the construction of the Mahakal jyotirlinga is attributed to Lord Brahma. The Mahakal Lok corridor, flanked by Nandi Dwaar and the Pinaki Dwaar, is adorned with 93 statues that depict stories revolving around Lord Shiva, such as Shiv Vivah, Tripurasur Vadh, Shiv Puran, and Shiv Tandav Swaroop, as per Indian Express. The first phase of the Mahakaleshwar Temple corridor development project also includes features like lotus pond, open-air theatre, and lakefront along with various facilities for the visitors.

Harsiddhi Mata Temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeethas. Sati Mata’s elbow fallen here when Lord Vishnu cut Goddess Sati’s body in 51 pieces. Harsiddhi Mata Temple is quite famous with the devotees and is just 400 meters away from Mahakaleshwar Temple. King Vikramaditya worshipped here during his rule. The Marathas rebuilt the temple thus it has a Marathi style architecture.
