The golden monkey (Rhinopithecus roxellana) is a mammal belonging to the family Cercopithecidae, also known as Old World Monkeys, which includes species of monkeys native to Africa and Asia, such as baboons. It is endemic to a small central area of southwestern China, occupied by old temperate and mountainous forests. The golden monkey habitat is distributed in these forests, located between 1,500 and 3,400 m in altitude.
