It's monsoon season and I just had a good downpour that lasted about 20 minutes.

Xena has one chick and Marzipan has five. They're about a week apart. The turkeys are getting big. Randy still wants to kill me.

1 out of 6 eggs hatched. Randy needs to step up his game with the girls obviously. 17% fertilization rate is bad.

These Bluejays will harass the chickens sometimes to get to the water feeder.

This is their first day out of the brooder and meeting the chickens face to face in their yard.

Any beekeepers out there that could explain this behavior?

single chick hatched out on Jan 29. This is the first day mom has taken her out of the brooder for a walk in the yard and a bit of sun. it is still getting below freezing at night but mom is doing a great job keeping her baby warm.

Got a few more inches on top of what we already had. it's 0°F in the shade.

About 7-8" in the last 2 days with temps dropping into single digits. That doesn't stop the boys from wrestling.

I have a pack of coyotes hanging around the north end of the ranch. They are getting a little too bold so it's time to push them back onto the state trust land that butts up along my property. If they won't leave me and the boys will just have to take them out one at a time. There is an open bounty on them because they are a threat to the free ranging cows here. I'd leave them alone if they weren't also a threat to my chickens.
