A peek at my local area's ancient monuments: Rudston Monolith, Danes Dyke and Skipsea Castle, which is really an ancient mound and earthwork. These are all within the Wold Newton Triangle, which is an area of mystery, a bit like Yorkshire's Bermuda Triangle, with more unexplained paranormal occurrences than average. A note on what could be happening at Rudston Monolith energetically -- When a crystalline structure is compressed it creates a piezoelectric effect. The weight of the monolith on the chalk therefore creates a piezoelectric effect. A note on my barefoot practice - in Qi Gong we often recommend to keep your shoes on in cold weather in order to keep cold energy from traveling up the legs into the kidneys. In the standing practice I was doing in this video, I ignored that advice for brief moments of time to be able to feel the earth energies and get energy from the ground. I am working on my production quality - I know the sound wavers and the camera wobbles occasionally, but I am still happy I was able to record my impressions in real time in the midst of a busy life. Also you can hear my child interjecting, haha. I'd encourage anyone in the vicinity of Yorkshire to visit these places as there is no entrance fee, no fancy car park, and nobody there. The Chinese and Indian spiritual systems haven't changed for millennia - What was different about their approach?

Part 2 of a discussion on Choiceless Awareness practice. I begin with an exploration of the ego's desire to control. An alternative is to give up control, and let the attention go where it wants. Eventually you lose all interest in the mind, and the present moment reveals itself. Part 1 of this talk is called Letting Go in Choiceless Awareness Practice.

In this practice we make a conscious effort to let go of the controller, and let the awareness dance where it wants. You could also call it Dancing Awareness practice, but I prefer to use the term "Choiceless Awareness" borrowed by my teacher, Da Dennis Trisker, from Krishnamurti. It's about dropping all resistance and just allowing, observing without judgment. You could also liken it to Zen sitting. Whatever you call it, it's best practiced either out in nature, or with a seasoned guide and company of other practitioners. Both complement each other. Is an enlightened person nice all the time? (spoiler alert: nope.) Some recollections and musings of teachers I've met, as well as stories shared by my teachers. And reflections on the role of a spiritual teacher.
