Southern Right Whales and Calfs very close to this spectacular shoreline
A little video from Fitzgerald National Park in Western Australia...showing how close these Southern Right Whales hug the shoreline at this little known Nursery in South Western Australia. They come here to give birth and stay here for a few months until their young are big enough to be able to swim further out to sea on the long migration.

A pod of Southern Right Whales
Here we have a pod of Southern Right Whales...2 mothers and their Calfs, frolicking in the waters off the south coast of Western Australia. Notice the little white one? only 4% of Southern Right Whales are born this way..and there is estimated to be only 10 - 15000 Southern Right Whales left in the oceans today. Its so nice to capture this at the local whale nursery every season.

Calm, Shallow Waters Are The Perfect Whale Nursery
A whale nursery in the beautiful National Park in Western Australia. Almost guaranteed to see Southern Rights, humpbacks, hundreds of dolphins, lots of seals - and the odd great white shark roaming the waters in this area. So shallow and calm most days makes for some great footage.

If you're happy and you know it...Slap your fin!
A southern right whale playing just off shore. Such a delight to see him slapping his fins in the water like this. Check out the beautiful beach in the background, this is Banky Beach in Bremer Bay - Western Australia. Every year the whales migrate past here and there are literally thousands this year. From Humpbacks, to the rare Southern Rights (seen here), and the even more elusive Blue Whale. Please follow my footage for more videos of all the above beautiful creatures.

Humpback Whale Tail Slapping
Here we have a humpback whale, aggressively tail slapping the water just off the coast of Bremer Bay - Western Australia
Whales slap their tails to communicate, warn away predators or other males, and impress a potential mate. Different species of whale lobtail differently. Humpback whales will lobtail repeatedly. They will often raise their tail back and forth to slap the water.
There were quite a few whales in the area and it is breeding season right now..so I'm guessing this one was trying to impress a mate nearby,
It was awesome to be able to catch this behaviour on video

A Pod of Humpback Whales cruising the South West Coast of Australia
Here we have 4k drone footage of a pod of Humpback Whales cruising along the Coast of South Western Australia, near Bremer Bay during the whale migration.
Notice one of the Humpbacks is blowing bubbles underwater:
It’s been established that humpbacks release large quantities of bubbles in rings out of their blowholes to corral schools of krill and small fish, which makes hunting the one to one-and-half tons of food they need to eat each day much easier. But researchers now think humpbacks’ bubble blowing may have other uses, too, first and foremost as an important form of communication. And it’s a form of communication that comes with a serious risk: drowning.
Enjoy this footage as much as I enjoyed recording it. It was "breath taking"
