Close to my new place are vast rice fields. When my drone approached them a lot of white birds got stirred up. With a little research, I suggested that these were herons or egrets according to habitat and looks. They seemed not to be amused by my presence. So they swarmed around me obviously attempting to scare me away. Needless to say that my drone stood its ground despite being outnumbered... 🤣🕊🕊🕊

Flying over sugar cane fields in gusty wind. Ghian's little Mini did fairly well in these conditions. You see here almost endless sugar cane fields and patches of simple residences, which belong to the field workers. Pretty isolated and lonely looking.

Ovans is a trademark name in Balayan when it comes to the food and restaurant business. This restaurant is a newer one with a great ambiance and unique style. The food served here is perfect. Sunday morning and a group of four guys travelled to Taal Lake with a view of the Taal Volcano. We did not experience an eruption but got stuck in a mud pool. But we made it out with the help of a friendly neighbour. Great day at the lake and on the hill, thanks to Maynard... Thank you.

Sunday family day and a nice lunch with part of the clan at Agot's, a restaurant right in Balayan, which exists for a couple of decades already. The menu is not that extensive, but what is being offered is really excellent.

Living beside a national highway is noisy, but also comes with a lot of things to look at. For example, this mini market is being held every weekend in the late afternoon until sunset. Only local produce is being offered, mostly typical Filipino food. It is simple and colorful, simply real life as I love it.

Not having been at the beaches near Balayan for a long time, I decided to change that and take a look using my drone to see what has changed. Flying out to some anchoring ships, the wind picked up from a "wrong" direction, making my drone fly home directly into the wind. This was the time when panic was creeping in...

Not far from us is a lost beach resort for sale, which has been abandoned, as it seems, for quite a while. The lot is huge. And you find some unfinished structures on it, which seem to tell, that this was intended to be turned into a somewhat classy beach resort. Now it looks deserted and very spooky...👻😱 🎼Sounds🎶 by OMS

Black pigs are a local breed, which is not seen so often. Piggeries normally raise the imported big and pink skinned breeds, maybe for more yield in terms of weight. Brown out day, and we came from the construction site to check out some places in Calaca, our neighbouring town. We found this river resort, which was officially closed. We had a short talk with the owner and were able to catch some short impressions of the place. Interesting and beautiful - even more once it is open. This is a reupload, since the original was changed by some technical issues on YT side.

We are still in the process of building our house. Time to get some additional construction material. I took the opportunity to roam around and look at some goods here for sale. And I looked at the prices of some of them - at a day at Wilcon

I had to pick up a new car in Manila. On our way back and forth we had to pass Tagaytay and the Taal volcano. Recently there were some activities/minor eruptions. Will we see some spectacular pictures? Or have some volcanic debris falling on our head? Time for the adventure...

One week of heavy rains and one more week of rains to go... rainy season has arrived in full force here on the island. We have to sit it out and try not to get too wet. Not like me running outside and collecting some shots...

Our gate is heavy and hard to open. Gate builders from "Rhino gates" came up and put on some e-motors to get the gate open and close automatically. 2 days of intense work. Magandang umaga - good morning, Balayan. A new bike and early in the morning. A 1-hour trip through the neighbourhood, to the town proper and to the seaside of Balayan showing some early morning impressions of Balayan.

I needed a hair cut. Time to activate my new bike, since the parlor was not too far away. And with the fresh hair cut it was cooler and easier to ride through the Sunday afternoon of Balayan, exploring some other parts of the town.

Racing through the town for the Baywalk. Every morning, they say, the Zumba Beauties there are on the loose. No time to waste to catch up to watch the action...
