New early access playthrough of soon to be released (October 2020) indie horror game Visage, by Sadsquare Studio. Jumpscares and terror abound! What up Cynizens? I was feeling pretty crappy and under the weather during this playthrough, so hopefully you'll be able to overlook my somewhat lower than usual energy on this video. However, Dolores scared the crap out of me more than once, and that definitely got the blood pumping! This is part 5 of my Visage gameplay series, where I continue further into the madness of Dolores and start to unwrap more pieces of the puzzle. I didn't get super far, but I got far enough to where I think I will be able to finish her chapter for part 6. With so many mirrors to break and rooms to explore, my already diminished mental capacity was spent mostly on trying to keep everything straight on this go round. One of my scariest new gameplay experiences so far! Jumpscares, photorealistic graphics, a creepy demon lady with a knife. All of this added up to be a recipe for terror that I was not prepared for. The full release of chapter one isn't happening until December of 2020, but after playing through this demo, I'm not fully convinced I will want to play the full chapter. The full playthrough was almost 2 and a half hours long, but I was able to cut it down to an easier to swallow 34 minutes - as most of that time was spent wandering around and trying to figure out what to do next. I was originally going to put up a poll on Instagram as to whether or not I should continue Visage or start this one, but in the spirit of trying to keep things fresh and interesting, I decided to go ahead and descend into this nightmare. I had full expectation that this game was going to be scary, but there were so many things about it that just unsettled me long after I was done playing, and even while I was re-visiting it during the editing process. While not quite as visually impressive as some more recent titles, it in no way detracted from the scare factor. I believe this is going to end up being a 4-part series, as I heard the game is about 3 hours long to finish. I will definitely be continuing this one! Thanks to the handy Instagram polls, in a fierce competition between Visage and Infliction, Visage was able to squeak out the final victory. The Cynizens have spoken, and I am prepared to deliver. In a sick and strange way, I was actually excited to get back in and play this game again; as usual, it did not disappoint. I was instantly re-immersed into the creepy and terrifying familiarity of the house and it really never let up. I didn't finish Dolores' story on this video, but I got through the introductory bits and started unraveling the opening pages of her disturbing story. What up Cynizens? So I was finally able to finish this crazy game...at least I think I finished it. I was a little underwhelmed by the ending but it's possible I missed some things and therefore got the boring one. I took almost an hour and a half worth of footage and cut it down to less than 17 minutes. - HEADPHONES RECOMMENDED FOR BEST EXPERIENCE - Warning: This game contains violent imagery and sound effects that some may find extremely disturbing. What up Cynizens?! I figured I wouldn't wait another two weeks to post my next video and got myself back into the terrible world of horror games. This game (actually a playable demo for a game that was never released) has a dark and messy reputation; the original having been pulled from the PlayStation Network in 2015 over legal issues and even the fan remakes being discontinued by Konami itself - the developers of the original. However, those who got a chance to experience it before it was removed have given it a well-earned notoriety for being absolutely terrifying. It was hard to find, but I was able to track down and download the most true-to-the-original remake that was actually forced to shut down from further distribution by Konami in 2018. Amazingly, this was made by a single 17-year old fan of the original named Qimsar, who remade the entire thing in a matter of a few weeks with very limited Unreal Engine development experience. Even though Konami forced him to take it down from his site, apparently they were so impressed with his work that they ended up offering him an internship at their company. All I can say about the game itself is...I wasn't ready for any of it. There were so many things that disturbed me throughout the entire thing that I lost count. Not that I was keeping count. That was hyperbole. And ultimately, in what could be the biggest YouTube gaming fail of 2020, I ended the video right when I got to one of the last scenes, because the game "crashed" and "started over" which was supposed to happen. But not realizing that, I assumed I messed something up. However, I plan to do a Part 2 where I play through it one last time with that knowledge in the back of my head and see how this nightmare ends, so stay tuned! What's up Cynizens?? Has this ever been done before?! This was unreal! 10 shelves stocked (and two Creepy Baby hunts) completed in under 5 minutes with NO GLITCHES, NO CHEATS, and NO EXPLOITS! After I put my first item on the shelf, I started the timer (since that is when the game "starts") and ended up with a pretty impressive finish time I think. Because I didn't want anyone to assume it was an editing trick and I was trying to deceive everyone (you never know these days); after I started stocking the shelves, I did ZERO jump cuts until after I stocked my last shelf. So from the time the game starts until the last item is on the shelf, it is one, single continuous shot (hence the awkward silences that I would normally cut out, lol). I did have a brief audio glitch a little after the 6 minute mark of the video, but it resolved in a little over 20 seconds. Not sure what happened, but I was glad it didn't completely ruin this amazing video I was able to capture. The stars aligned for me on this one, and it was a combination of strategy and pure luck that I was able to pull this off. I couldn't delete this game fast enough, but I did it with the pride of knowing that I smashed through it in legendary fashion. Hopefully you guys will really enjoy this one. What up fellow Cynizens?! Sorry that it has taken me so long to get this video out to you guys. I had some serious technical difficulties and considered scrapping the entire thing. About 6 and a half minutes in, my laptop mic was somehow unmuted from my game recording software and it began picking up my voice as part of the game audio (therefore it could not simply be scrubbed or deleted). This resulted in serious delayed echoes throughout 75% of the video. So...I had to get creative! I removed the game audio after that point and I replaced it with my own sound direction, borrowing from previous game audio and adding my own flair to it. This was not a quick and easy process, as I tried to have the utmost attention to detail and a commitment to quality on how and where to use the sounds, to create an appropriately immersive and scary atmosphere in lieu of the normal game soundtrack. And this also gave me a chance to create my own soundscape, which was more fun than I expected, as I had much more creative control...there may or may not be some pretty sneaky surprises I put in. I cannot confirm nor deny this. 😏 In any case, I hope you are able to enjoy this video despite it not going completely to plan.
