Finally got this goin again. Hopefully I have the alternator wiring and the fan wiring right! The exhaust is way too loud… going to reconfigure it once I can find a muffler that’ll handle this thing.

I picked up a few new parts for the C6 build. I consider ~650ftlbs kinda mild overall so I got an updated planetary that came with these wicked Torrington bearings! Picked up the #9 Torrington bearing, stuffing tons of aftermarket clutches in and a much better servo and modulator. If somehow my wife still kills this I’ll have to find a few more upgraded parts (other planetary and probably more roller bearings)

I was tinkering with this new sensor for my C20 to K20 and I always removed the snap clip because I was used to Subaru/Nissan/Mitsubishi where they can’t be pressed down. Found this out on these and it’s super cool

A bit more in depth rundown of the parts. Still waiting on the thinner pressure plates for forward and direct clutch packs to get it to 5 and 5 (and I think 6 on low/reverse because you can chuck the wave washer)

More recently I got some famed Ohhnoo intercoolers. They are really solid quality overall, just a few install issues I’m noting here. Some super small changes would make life much easier. I’m hoping the tubing on the passenger side goes much smoother. Tubular subframe is almost in. I need to fab up a brace jack from across the front and build some sort of spacer for the other two captured bolts at the rear so they don’t jingle and then I think I’m going to be back on the road. I’m hoping siliconing the compression fitting I have on the booster fixes the issue with the brakes, it’s a very weird feeling like when people have described to me feeling the abs working but not as good of braking(ceika bbk on the car all around so it shouldn’t be bad at stopping but is)

First run I was hopeful- tach works, thought the tires were grippy(nope) and thought 3rd was fixed(nope). Cars consistent though!

There was a turbo civic that ran before me that was damn quick! Bit of that video there and my burnout sound (wife got distracted haha) Learned from the first run: Tires won’t grip till late 2nd/early 3rd Be nice to 3rd. I think it was a success since I cut 0.5 off my time. I know the car has more in it and if I improve parts on it I know I can shave time on top of that, it’s a shame the track is closing!

Video showcasing how it seems only Chevrolet decided blind holes for the head bolt holes(and there’s a lot of them too) was too much money. Even small block Mopar (photo) doesn’t have this stupid problem… In all fairness though that’s one upside to having an LS if you can stand having a tiny engine that’s ugly.

I guess that’s what I get for remanufactured stuff…

The first 5th gen Celica with a 2gr now has a working tach! No more terrible tablet!!

She took the win of the night, 15.2 over my 15.6 and my friends 15.9. Auto/good tires seem to take the cake. Excuse my poor cinematography, was trying to keep my son from screaming at max volume!

Forgot my GoPro so I couldn’t have an in car that didn’t suck, but here’s what it sounds like. No tach makes picking shift rpm kinda hard Still fun as hell!

My last run with the car here was a 17.8 This time around I did a 15.6 while missing either 2nd or 3rd shift. Either way it was a blast and I’m sad the track is being shut down….

Video of the Electronic Power Steering in action! Installed on my 5th gen Celica (1992) Works awesome, my only complaint is with the snappy nature of the 2gr it and bad alignment on the car it makes life tricky.
