An engaging narrator with an outgoing persona does not necessarily translate into an unbiased jurist. Huey P. Cotton, who presides over the Van Nuys Courthouse East, is both a fraudulent judge and an untruthful individual. Consider his words carefully and ask yourself: does he exhibit impartiality? When he grants a "continuance," is that the proper way for a judge to behave? Note how he speaks of his Armenian colleagues as if they were his protectors, and ask yourself whether he would be swayed by their opinions if they contacted him regarding a case. Only a dishonest person would deny it; certainly Huey would not. This is the sort of challenge that the public confronts: bar associations that control judges by funneling money to them through law firms. Just wait until you hear Judge Huey Cotton's diatribe about the corrupt San Fernando Valley Bar Association; imagine how much more corrupt the Los Angeles County Bar Association must be. This is not the justice that the people deserve or anticipate, but rather the warped and dishonorable version that we all too frequently encounter.

This is just a fraction of what you face in court. A judge who is as biased as they come. Huey P. Cotton is the life of the Bar Associations and without his influence peddling and predetermined decisions he wouldn't have that "swag" he talks about. Listen how members of the Bar Association refer to his wife by her first name and they know she let him out to play that night. Huey can tell a story. Imagine being a member of the Bar Association he loves so much. Listen to him puff his chest out more when he speaks to the San Fernando Valley Bar Association. It's heartbreaking to see this type of bias out in the open because behind closed doors you know it's so much worse. Imagine being this comfortable speaking in public like this? For those of us who just want a even playing field, those days are over and they have been over for so long they don't care to tell you like Huey does. You just have to listen.
