80-year-old Chicago Defensive Gun Use https://bit.ly/2CHLudt I don't know many 20-year-olds who can fight off two people, let alone an 80-year-old, but this 80-year-old man was able to fend off two intruders for one reason only: he had a gun. The gun made him equal, and that's why we fight so hard for the second amendment. One of the reasons why some people are anti-gun is because they see themselves only as potential victims of gun violence. In reality, guns are the great equalizer. I always answer my door with a gun in my hand, and some people think that's crazy. But this story is a perfect example of why I do this. Regardless of how the world should be, I take the world as it is. I answer my door armed, and if I even answer the door at all, I'm perfectly fine talking to you through my ring doorbell. It's important to keep in mind that if this home invasion had happened before 2010, this man may not be alive today. Prior to 2010, no one was allowed to own a handgun in Chicago before Otis McDonald sued the city of chicago in a case that went to the supreme court. In this case, the 80-year-old man in Chicago was critically injured after fighting off two home invasion suspects with a gun. The incident occurred when the man answered a knock at his door and two individuals entered his residence. In the struggle, the man was able to use his firearm, critically wounding one of the intruders. According to the Chicago Police Department, the elderly man was also battered and sustained multiple injuries. He was transported to Resurrection Hospital for treatment. NBC 5 confirmed that the 80-year-old is a legal gun owner with a valid Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card. Polk County Defensive Gun Use https://bit.ly/2CHLudt Homeowners have the right to protect themselves and their property in Polk County, and that's exactly what one legal gun owner in Haines City did when he came home to find two burglars in his kitchen. According to the Haines City Police Department in Polk County, the homeowner returned to his home with his girlfriend and puppy around 1:30 a.m. on Friday. When he flipped on the light switch, he saw two strangers standing in his kitchen, mere feet away from him. Fearing for his and his girlfriend's safety, the homeowner pulled out his 9mm handgun and fired five shots at the suspect closest to him. The homeowner then left his house and drove to the police department to report the incident. On the way there, he was stopped by police and interviewed about what had occurred. Meanwhile, officers used a K9 to search for the two suspects, who were in the process of stealing jewelry from the home at the time they were interrupted. One of the suspects, Tyriek Washington, was later found at a nearby park with four bullet wounds. Despite having committed a felony, the police provided him with quick medical care, which ultimately saved his life. The homeowner in this incident is not facing any trouble, as the evidence at this time suggests that this was a case of stand your ground. Chief Greg Goreck hopes that this case will serve as a deterrent for other would-be burglars, showing them that homeowners will not hesitate to defend themselves and their property. Senator Dianne Feinstein Assault Weapon Ban https://bit.ly/2CHLudt The Second Amendment is a fundamental right for American citizens, and those who seek to undermine it are nothing short of enemies of freedom. One such individual is Senator Dianne Feinstein, who has been on a crusade to pass an "assault weapon" ban since 1995. The problem with this is that the term "assault weapon" is a made-up term, with no real definition. This allows politicians like Feinstein to keep updating the ban with new firearms and naming them specifically like naming the "Assault Pistol" used in the California shooting. It's clear that this ban would not have prevented the recent mass shooting in California, a state that already has strict gun laws. In fact, from 1982 to 2023, California has had the highest number of mass shootings in the United States, while also being ranked #1 for having the strictest gun laws in the country. This raises the question of how effective these laws really are. Furthermore, when it comes to gun violence, rifles are the least used type of firearm. Even when you narrow it down to mass shootings, rifles are still not the most commonly used type of gun. So, why are we still talking about passing an "assault weapon" ban? The truth is, this ban would not save lives. Rather, it is simply a stepping stone for those who ultimately want to ban all guns. It's important to remember that the Second Amendment was written to protect citizens from government tyranny and to ensure that the people have the means to defend themselves against those who would do them harm. Giving up your firearms is not the solution. It only serves to make you beholden to the government and vulnerable to criminals who do not obey laws. The PDX-SD is specifically designed for use with a suppressor, which was found to be hearing-safe when firing M855 ammunition, with a reading of 138 dB during testing. The design of the weapon is intended to provide constant suppression, making the suppressor an integral part of the muzzle device. The outer tube of the suppressor is removable for easy maintenance, and if the core wears out over time, it can be replaced. Additionally, the suppressor core can be upgraded as new versions become available. According to Maxim Defense, the PDX-SD has an overall length of 23.75 inches when collapsed, and the suppressor measures 5 inches in length and 2.25 inches in width. The larger circumference of the suppressor allows for a more efficient use of space, allowing for a shorter overall length of the rifle. It appears that the PDX-SD uses the SCW system, which is a patent-pending design that helps to keep the overall size of the rifle down. The SCW is a direct impingement system and features an integrated bolt carrier group (BCG) with interchangeable buffer weights. This allows for maximum performance and versatility without sacrificing form and function. He claimed that they "perpetuate lunacy" and that there is no justification for their use. He also incorrectly emphasized that mass shootings in the United States are a unique problem that does not exist in other parts of the world. California has some of the strictest gun control laws in the country, including a red flag law, universal background checks, an "assault weapons" ban, firearm registration requirements, a limit on the number of guns a law-abiding citizen can buy each month, a ban on campus carry for self-defense, a ban on teachers being armed on K-12 campuses for classroom defense, a 10-day waiting period on gun purchases, restrictions on firearm sales advertising, background checks for ammunition purchases, and a requirement that all ammunition be purchased from state-approved, in-state ammunition vendors. Despite these laws, the state has still seen multiple mass shootings in recent years, which really perpetuates lunacy the effectiveness of these gun control measures. It is worth noting that the term "large capacity clips" is unclear what exactly it refers to. Some people interpret it as a magazine which can hold more than 10 rounds some 8, some probably more than 1. He also referred to the 2nd amendment as a dangerous pact. ATF Pistol Stabilizing Brace Rule https://bit.ly/2CHLudt Remember, Millions of people have these braces on their guns. This new rule, which isn't even a law but has the consequences of being law, asserts that any weapon that is designed, redesigned, manufactured or modified to be fired from the shoulder will now legally be an SBR. There is also the possibility that if a firearm only features a surface area that could permit it to be fired from the shoulder, it may fall under the definition of an SBR. The ATF will consider any pistol with a length of pull equivalent to that of a rifle to be an SBR. Further, the addition of an optic on a pistol that requires eye relief in the same fashion as a rifle will be an SBR. So simply putting an optic on a pistol will likely change it from a pistol to an SBR. Once again, remember, the ATF told us that these braces were legal to put on our guns, and now over night, they're illegal unless you register them with the ATF. It doesn't take a genius to see how this is a defacto gun registration. So now, millions of guns that were once not on a registration will have to be on a registration, or you become a felon. I'm optimistic there will be lawsuits filed over this but as anyone who has had the misfortune of dealing with the court system, the one thing they are not is fast. Surefire Turbo Course review https://bit.ly/2CHLudt After taking a 2-day Surefire Low light course using their new Surefire 300 Turbo series of lights on pistols and rifles, I realized it’s easy to over-simplify it. When you talk to someone who knows how to really use a light on their gun because they spent a large part of their life looking for people who were also looking for them, you quickly realize you don’t know anything about running a light on a gun. We started with the basics of the light on a pistol. Any monkey can flip the switch on a surefire light and start shooting. However, the real challenge was drawing or presenting your gun and using the momentary on-pressure part of the switch to get your hits. With a light on your gun, the goal is to use it to see what you need to see, get your hits and then disappear into the blackness. After the simmunition portion of this course, I walked away with one thought, “My goodness, it takes serious guts to walk into a dark building knowing there are people inside trying to kill you with more knowledge of the room than you have. Ok, maybe it was two thoughts. The second thought is unless there’s someone I genuinely care about inside, I’m not clearing any buildings anytime soon with or without lights. Illinois House Assault Weapons Ban https://bit.ly/2CHLudt The Illinois House just scrambled to pass an AR-15 ban, which we all know will do nothing to save lives because there are over 44 million AR-15s in this country. Unless they're going to confiscate those AR15s, they will remain out there, and even if they wanted to confiscate them, how could they if they don't know where they are and who has them? Oh, that's right, they're going to make the people who already have them register them. And why do you think they're doing that? So that after there's another tragedy after the initial assault weapon ban doesn't work, they can turn around and say, all you people who registered your grandfathered AR15s turn them in, or you'll go to jail, and we know you have them because you registered them. We all know that criminals aren't registering their guns, so the only people who would be turning in firearms are law-abiding citizens. At that point, it's only a matter of time before they start saying they need to ban handguns, and it's not like they haven't done this before. One of the most famous 2A cases was McDonald V. City of Chicago. The court held that Chicago's citywide ban on handguns was unconstitutional, just like this assault weapon ban is unconstitutional. Taqueria Robbery Houston Defensive Gun Use https://bit.ly/2CHLudt I don't understand why any criminal would try to pull something like this in Texas and think no one else has a gun. It's simply mind-blowing. When you look up the definition of TEXAS in the dictionary, it simply says, "Everyone and their mama has a gun." Why would you possibly think you can walk into a taqueria in Southwest Houston, Texas, and assume no one there has a gun? Unfortunately for him, he found out the hard way. That said, not everyone who watches this video thinks this is a clean shoot. Some people feel that because it seemed as if the robber was leaving, the guy didn't have to shoot him. This may or may not be true, depending on what you consider a deadly threat to your life. Some say, give the robber what he wants, and he won't shoot you. You don't know that! Sure, the gun ended up being fake, but the people in the restaurant didn't know that; otherwise they wouldn't have given him their money. This is a classic case of playing stupid games and winning stupid prizes on the part of the robber. Waiving a gun, real or not, in Texas is just dumb. Defending yourself shouldn't be this complicated, but this is our world. That's why I always recommend anyone who does carry a gun for self-defense to get a USCCA Membership.
