Messianic Bible Study Special: Christmas debate pt. 2, Xeilias Canani, Daniel Karalash
Hi all! This study is an attempt at a messianic commentary on the whole Bible that I think is really important for us to do. I think Messianics rarely, if ever, do a wholistic study of the Bible, so I want to throw my lot in and hopefully give my fellow Messianics a way to present their beliefs. With that said, I'm not great at structuring my materials perfectly, so I figured a commentary on the Bible is probably the best way to go about it for my personality.
I hope you enjoy!
In today's special, we are debating whether Christmas is pagan, and we touch on whether Christians should celebrate it.
Our interlocutors include:
Xeilias Canani, the prima podcastia and designated Christmas Champion. He has been a Messianic all his life, and didn't celebrate Christmas until very recently, when his own study of Christmas led him to believe that it was not pagan.
Daniel Karalash, who has been in ministry since he was a teenager. He entered the Messianic movement in his late teens. After his own studies of Christmas, he has been led to the conclusion that it ought not be celebrated because of its pagan origins. He has generally been an entrepeneur throughout his life, he got his undergraduate in legal studies at Harvard, and is currently ministering and working in MO. He is a longtime friend of the prima podcastia, and really played the role of impetus for his entrance into ministerial work.

He is working towards entering college to get a constitutional law degree, and begin work in support of Christian non-profits. He has recently come to a similar conclusion as Xeilias regarding Christmas.

Casual Audio Papers 23: Derrick Bell, Law Professor and rights Advocate, Dies at 80
by Fred Bernstein, 2011
Casual Audio Papers is partly for personal use. I want relisten to them while I work to improve my knowledge base, but it is also for anybody else who is interested in Psychology and Neuroscience who doesn't have a lot of time. I noticed while I work I often want to listen to something educational, but I mostly have to listen to audiobooks or lectures, but never get any cold, hard papers. And there is a big difference. So here it is.
Xeilias Canani has an interest in History and the science of Psychology, and hopes to study Psychology when money allows. He is an associate Pastor at The Rock, and is owner of the Construction Company CananiConstruction.

We begin discussing some of the works by Critical Race Theorists. The paper itself discusses how Brown v. Board of Education is becoming obsolete. However, the scholarship is shoddy, and the reasoning is messy. I didn't learn much except how to get a headache. I hope it is more relevant for you.

This opinion does not lay the foundation for equal rights, the 14th amendment does that. However, it does provide the most reasonable interpretation of equality. This definition is currently being attacked by the proponents of Critical Race Theory (Crenshaw, pg. 2), and it should be thought through very carefully before acceptance of such criticisms are determined to be valid. Uprooting this opinion may defang the 14th amendment, which in turn, may lead to the removal of the prohibition of slavery once again. Freedom is a finnicky thing.

In the previous paper I discussed this paper a bit whenever Implicit Bias was mentioned, so I thought it would be appropriate to read it in its entirety to make sure I'm not just making things up or misunderstanding it. The question is what the literature on Implicit Bias actually says, and what sorts of conclusions we can actually draw from it. This paper has six lessons.
