I don't know about you but I think that this might be possibly one of the strangest Christmas periods that we have come across. there's a lot of stuff going on the world right now and it's really easy to feel maybe a little anxious or low, down about what's going on in the world in one way or another. as we enter the holiday period I just wanted to share some wisdom that a friend shared with me this morning. he said, look basically this is a barrage of information ℹ️ its really easy to allow that to feel like it's overwhelming, but rather than letting the world get us down like that, how about we just focus on our own personal care routines? do something different! 💥 focus on family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 focus on friends 🤗 because they need you ❤️! so it's really important to shake ourselves out of this mindset, where we just looking 👀 at the same stuff 📺 and feeling a bit down. instead, focus on self-care 🏃 and focus on the fact that you’ve got people around you that love you 😍 Merry Christmas 🎁🎄

Global corporate culture talks about “human capital” and “human resources”. I can go down to the bank and get some “capital” to build a road or invest in shares, do something financial with it. The term “capital” or even “resources”, it doesn't tap into the spirit of what it means to be a human being... my philosophy is that we should be talking about Human Potential instead because we can't just assume that a human being sits on the balance sheet as an asset and that will automatically give us results and “get the best out of our people” because frankly that just sees the matter, the subject, as a dormant subject and it puts the onus on employees to all the sudden be this “asset”. I would rather talk about Human Potential. Human Potential recognises the more deep and meaningful relationship to build with our team mates. When we recognise who the person is, what their desires are, both personally and professionally, then we’ve started to even begin the journey of unlocking this potential. It’s about walking through the door and leaving some of these dry, dead terms behind. Starting to walk into a space that recognises the human spirit is something greater than this, my “role”, my job title.... all of these things are temporary .... they’re the dry structure of corporate structure, and of course they need to exist, but we need to go deeper than that as leaders. we need to give the tools out and go on the journeys and really talk to our team in a way that gets us to connect, tap into that potential system , and therefore thrive! 🙏🏼
