Tucker Carlson - Total Dud! Stupid Too!
After watching the entire interview between Tucker Carlson and Vladimir Putin I was amazed to see just how stupid, unimaginative, clumsy, brainwashed and unoriginal Tucker Carlson really is. The guy is a major dullard. He's not very bright, is incapable of thinking for himself outside of the mainstream media propaganda below should machine. Insensitively lacking to even the grossest subtleties of human interaction and generally a total dud.
In one step after another Carlson, in his interview with Vladimir Putin demonstrates himself to be, at best, slightly above your average bear in terms of intelligence, imagination, sensitivity to interactions with other human beings and a variety of other ways. Although at times he looked halfway decent compared to the even worse idiots on Fox news, now that one is able to make comparisons with the newer more lightly censored and more conservative media outlets, Tucker Carlson comes across as just plain stupid.

Amazon Screwups
Amazon is recently been screwing up deliveries in a thoroughly unacceptable way. Third-party vendors by Amazon routinely use the post office instead of a proper package shipping outfit. Amazon also uses UPS which frequently screws up by delivering to the post office instead of to the street address. Worst of all, however, is that Amazon repeatedly advertises something via Amazon delivery saying it will be delivered the same day and then screws up the delivery and often does not actually get it to me sooner than two or three days later.
Amazon management is clearly not managing their delivery services correctly. Because we are in a rural delivery zone and do not have a box on the street, packages delivered to the post office that are not explicitly addressed to our PO Box are also either delayed or simply disappear into limbo. My instructions say DO NOT DELIVER TO THE POST OFFICE!. These seem to be routinely ignored by Amazon. Shame on you Amazon! Get your shit together before you drive me back to Best Buy!

NewsGPT and the Limitations of AI
NewsGPT, a newsletter that uses AI to aggregate multiple news sources, is both a good indicator of potential practical uses of AI but also a good example for studying and realizing some key limitations of artificial general intelligence (AGI) efforts. Careful study of NewsGPT can be very helpful in obtaining a realistic perspective on AI – what it is good for and capable of - and what it is not.

Truth and Twitter
To the distress of folks like Cash Patel and Devin Nunes at Truth Social, Twitter has come roaring back under the ownership and guidance of Elon Musk. Their assumption had been that Truth Social would provide a more conservative alternative to the otherwise deep state fake news social media. Musk, however, has very successfully positioned Twitter as a platform open to all views.s

Computer Archaeology for Whippersnappers
Canopus Research President Will Zachmann shares some observations concerning some ancient artifacts he recently uncovered digging through an old desk drawer in the attic. These were de rigueur tools in the toolkit of just about every professional programmer in the early and mid 1960s.

In Defense of Max Tegmark
Having posted a video recently that is rather harshly critical of Max Tegmark I thought it only fair to at least make a reasonable effort to defend him against myself with a somewhat more positive view. Max is certainly a delightful person who is hard not to like. Nevertheless, he suffers from a basic and unquestioned addiction to the so-called standard model of physics modified by quantum mechanics, general relativity theory, and various attempted innovations on the part of Max and others. The problem though is that the Standard Model is clearly as obsolete today as was the religiously enforced heliocentric model of the universe on the brink of the Renaissance and Reformation.

Max Tegmark's Fundamental Failure: Epicycle Theorist, Not Innovator
Although he fancies himself as an out-of-the-box innovator Max Tegmark is nothing of the sort. His innovations in attempts to improve on the standard model of physics, relativity theory, and quantum mechanics are the contemporary equivalent of the now forgotten attempts over 600 years ago to save the flawed because limited and soon to be obsolete heliocentric version of the world based on the assumption that all the heavenly bodies rotate around the earth in perfect circular orbits. His attempts to build infinite quantities of mathematically determined parallel universes on the shaky foundation of the quantum reduction amount to a modern version of the epi cycle theorists.

Seeker of the House
The amazing unfolding of events this past week (January 2 to January 8, 2023) is far more and far more significant than anything any of the conventional pundits, of whatever political persuasion, have yet been able to figure out. It was, in fact, a very carefully planned and orchestrated campaign directed from behind the scenes by President Donald J Trump and his close associates. While the lame stream media is doing its best to find some way to put a negative spin on it, in reality the shared 'boot camp' experience of all the members of the new Congress will have ramifications that are yet un-discerned by virtually all commentators even those trying hard to make sense of it.

MadMan Musk
An extremely stupid front-page article in today's Wall Street Journal characterizes Elon Musk's latest move to go ahead with the original acquisition of Twitter as "a sudden and unexpected comedown" for him.
What this really does is to demonstrate what clueless ninnies write for the Wall Street Journal 9and sit on the board at Twitter). In fact this is the culmination of a brilliant move by Musk to get exactly what he wanted in the first place:
The clowns on the twitter board originally opposed the acquisition. Then, when musk accused them of having a lot of fake accounts (they do - something Musk already knew) they panicked and demanded that he move forward with the deal. Musk pretended he did not want to do so and snookered them into a stupid lawsuit to force him to do exactly what they did not want him to do - and do exactly what he wanted to do in the first place: To buy Twitter at $43 a share.

European Union as Weimar Republic
The victory yesterday, Sunday, 25 September 2022, of a conservative coalition in Italy was immediately dissed by the mainstream media as the emergence of the first "far right" government in Italy since Mussolini. In fact, this does highlight a most interesting historical parallel between the Weimar Republic in Germany after World War I and the left-leaning globalist one world institutions of the United Nations in general and the European Union in particular.
Ironically, the current world wide historical movement in a more conservative, nationalistic, populist direction that is being so aggressively dissed and demonized by an increasingly panicked one world left is more likely to go the direction they fear as a result of their mendacious opposition to it then it would were they to adopt a more honest approach toward dialogue, discussion, and compromise.

AI Myths
AI, "artificial intelligence", is one of the biggest if not THE biggest current buzzwords stuck on anything computer much the way words like "organic." "natural," "farm grown." and the like are prominently displayed on cereal boxes and packaged food cans and containers at your local supermarket. Meanwhile brainless pontificators blather on hysterically blather on about the supposed 'dangers' of AI. This might make for good drama but it is based on lousy science and nonsensical myths.
