Student Who Went On Fox News Responds to Campus-wide Petition For His Removal From The University
Campus Reform recently published a story about an email that was sent to students Point Park University outlining the school's anti-discrimination policy, which states that 'action could be taken' if a complaint around 'misgendering' or 'pronoun misuse' is filed.
The university's Misgendering, Pronoun Misuse, and Deadnaming Policy states that “any individual who has been informed of another person’s gender identity, pronouns, or chosen name is expected to respect that individual.” If a complaint is filed regarding this policy, “action could be taken," the email reads.
Campus Reform correspondent Logan Dubil was the first to report on this story and recently appeared on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle to criticize the policy.
After Dubil appeared in national media, students at his school created a petition to remove him from the school.

5 Big Questions for David McGrath, Student Veteran and Journalist
David McGrath is a journalist, veteran, digital forensics professional, and now, also a student at Brown University. He is one of an estimated 1 million veterans currently attending college or graduate school in the United States. He spoke with Campus Reform about his path to the military and then to a college campus, as well as what surprised him about the current state of higher education.
The tragic events of September 11th, 2001 sparked McGrath’s decision to pursue a career in the military. “My recruiter didn’t lie to me,” he said. “He told me two things you’re going to go to war, and there’s a good possibility that someone’s going to get hurt that you really like and love, or you might get hurt yourself.”

Students Not Surprised To See Biden's Devastating Approval Numbers
As Biden's approval numbers continue to plummet, Campus Reform correspondent Logan Dubil went to the University of Pittsburgh to get student's reactions.
After showing students his declining approval, many students weren't surprised.
"It doesn't surprise me at all", one student told Campus Reform. "I kind of expected it, to be honest," another said.
Some cited Biden's immigration crisis and botched Afghanistan withdrawal for his disapproval.

Students Sign Petition To Abolish The U.S. Constitution
With Constitution Day on Friday, Campus Reform reporter Ophelie Jacobson talked with University of Florida students about the U.S. Constitution to see if they think the document is still relevant today, or if should be scrapped and remade.
Students told Campus Reform they think the Constitution is outdated and should be revised.
“It has to be,” one student said. “It was written in the late 1700’s, it wasn’t written for the 21st century.”
“There are a lot of outdated things in there that nowadays aren’t accepted,” another iterated.
Jacobson then asked students if they would sign a petition to abolish the current U.S. Constitution and create a new, supposedly more inclusive document for the 21st century.
Dozens of students signed the petition.
“It should be abolished,” one student said. “It’s time for a new Constitution.”

VACCINE MANDATES: 5 Big Questions For Rep. Ron Ferguson
Few people have fought as hard against COVID vaccine mandates than Ohio state Rep. Ron Ferguson. Ferguson sat down with Campus Reform to discuss his controversial amendment to a bill that will soon prevent colleges and universities from requiring vaccines that do not have full FDA approval.
Earlier this summer, the Ohio legislature considered a bill to allow children of military service members to remain enrolled in their current schools and attend school remotely in the event that their family is transferred to another location. Ferguson put forward an amendment to the bill that would have prohibited any public or private entity from mandating a vaccine that has not yet been approved by the FDA.
Ferguson said, “I think that we shouldn’t be requiring anybody to be forcibly vaccinated here in this country that’s just not what we were founded on. We were founded on freedom and liberty and individual choice and individual rights.”

Students Fear A Second 9/11 After Biden's Botched Afghanistan Withdrawal
Saturday marks 20-year anniversary of 9/11 and America faces revived concerns of terrorism now that the Taliban has retaken control of Afghanistan. Ushering in a new government, the Taliban has also seized billions of dollars in American military equipment left behind by the Biden administration, including helicopters, armored vehicles, weapons and ammunition.
After President Biden left Americans stranded, reports have surfaced that the Taliban has taken many of them hostage.
Campus Reform's Addison Smith went to Georgetown University to ask students if these events make them worried about another terrorist attack on American soil due to the rise of the Taliban.
Many students did tell Smith that they are now more concerned about another terrorist attack on America.
"I am [worried], I actually am. That's what happened last time they let Osama Bin Laden be out there", one student said.
"Absolutely. I mean, mostly because of the equipment we have left there... security has come a long way," another expressed. "But at the same time, I don't think it's enough."
One student suggested that, "[The Afghanistan crisis] poses one of the greatest threats that the United States have faced since 9/11."

Students Think 9/11 Lessons Should Omit 'Gruesome' Details, 'Avoid Placing Blame'
The Virginia Department of Education recently posted a video on their YouTube Channel telling teachers to avoid talking about American exceptionalism while teaching about September 11, 2001.
Campus Reform reporter Ophelie Jacobson talked with University of Florida students about this video to see how students think 9/11 should be taught in the classroom.
Suggestions for lesson plans included keeping "gruesome" facts out of lesson plans avoiding discussion of who was responsible for the attacks.
One student said the curriculum avoid "avoid placing blame."
Students also told Campus Reform that they agree that teachers shouldn’t mention or promote American exceptionalism in lessons about 9/11.
“We don't need more nationalism in this country...we need more healthcare,” one student said. “I think they should focus on America's faults, not how amazing we are and how we need to be superior, because we're not.”
“In terms of propagating this idea that our nation is the best no matter what...I would agree that that should be avoided,” another student said.
Students didn’t seem to agree with the idea of American exceptionalism.
“It’s rooted in a lot of colonist and imperialist notions of how we should treat other people,” one student said.
Another student said, “I think it's a dangerous mindset to teach young people that because I think that's the reason why a lot of people grow up to be extremists and really nationalistic.”

As 20th anniversary of September 11th, 2001 approaches, Campus Reform reporter Ophelie Jacobson talked with Campus Reform correspondent and intern Kayla Maloney about her personal connection to 9/11.
Maloney’s father was a firefighter in Firehouse 4035 in Lincoln Center. Although he was off-duty on September 11th, 2001, he rushed to the scene to dig through the rubble and help rescue Americans once he heard about what happened. Maloney’s mother didn’t hear from her husband for seven days.

On this week’s episode of the Campus Countdown, Campus Reform reporter Addison Smith slammed former Obama Secretary of Education Arne Duncan for a now-deleted tweet in which he compared anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers to the Taliban after they murdered 13 American service members in Afghanistan.
In the rest of the countdown, Smith discussed CSU Chico’s recent data leak of unvaccinated students’ private information, and OSU’s recent “Confronting Systemic Whiteness” seminar. Plus, Campus Reform correspondent Robert Schmad joins to discuss UH Manoa’s required housing orientation, in which students learned about restrooms from “The Gender Unicorn”.

5 Big Questions for Congresswoman Nancy Mace
Rep. Nancy Mace sounded off on mask mandates, Critical Race Theory, and the costs of college in a new interview with Campus Reform.
Mace says college students should be permitted to make their own decisions about wearing a mask, rather than being subjected to mandates. She told students, "If you're an adult, then you should be able to make your own healthcare decisions for yourself. And no one is banning a mask, anyone can wear a mask...Being anti-mandate doesn't mean you're anti-mask or anti-vaccination."

'He's Failed': Students Disown Joe Biden After Endless 'Disaster'
As the Biden administration attempts to reconcile rising inflation, crisis at the Southern Border, and the death of American citizens in the now Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, Campus Reform’s Addison Smith went to George Mason University to ask students how they feel about the Biden presidency thus far.
The vast majority of students -- who voted for or supported Biden’s nomination -- expressed regret for supporting him. One student said “He’s failed a lot on a lot of his promises”. Another, speaking on Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, called it a “disaster”.
When asked about Biden’s “Build back better” campaign slogan, students were not convinced he had done so.
“If you’re looking at the straight facts, it’s apparent that he’s not [building back better]”, one student said.
Students then told Campus Reform they were not likely to support Biden for a second term.
“I’m excited to see who [else] is going to run, actually,” said one student. “As of right now, no”, another expressed.

'JUST DO SOMETHING': Students React To Biden's handling of Afghanistan
As the world witnesses the total collapse of the Afghan government amid Biden’s rushed withdrawal, Campus Reform’s video reporter Addison Smith went to Georgetown University to get students’ reactions to the news and the rise of the Taliban.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki recently said she could not “guarantee” the evacuation of the thousands of American citizens whom they left behind. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin recently said they are unable to gather “large groups” of Americans stranded in Kabul. But images have recently surfaced showing U.S. aircrafts carrying hundreds of Afghans to safety.
"I feel like that's probably something that could have been avoided", one student said.
"I think it definitely was a big oversight by Biden to not have a plan in place... It kind of seems like they don't have a plan even now", another expressed.
Do students think that the American government should be prioritizing getting American citizens home, before taking in Afghan refugees? What would they say to Joe Biden if they could speak to him face-to-face.

Oregon Students Can Now Graduate WITHOUT Being Able To READ | Ep.35
On this week’s episode of the Campus Countdown, Campus Reform video reporter Addison Smith discusses the declining academic standards in Oregon’s lower education system. This year, Oregon high school seniors, in accordance with a bill signed by Gov. Kate Brown that suspends academic requirements for graduation, will be able to graduate without the ability to read or do math.
Smith criticized this decision, insisting that the school system has “abdicated its entire purpose, is an understatement.”
“A baseline -- bare minimum requirement [taxpayers] should expect from funneling money into this system is that the kids would come out with basic competency, basic fundamentals of education… Even that now, is too high a bar. To say that the public school system has abdicated its entire purpose, is an understatement,” Smith said.
“[The education system is]setting students up for failure. The education system has decided that any challenge at all, any expectation at all, is too burdensome; too challenging.”
Also in the Campus Countdown, Campus Reform correspondent Hannah Langdon joins to discuss Montclair University’s pressured decision to disband their “Bias Education Response Taskforce” in a settlement against a lawsuit filed by Alliance Defending Freedom. Also, Smith talks about Bard College’s recent “Independent journey with anti-racism” requirement for employment, and in the woke tweet of the week, mocks former York University history professor for insisting that the “the unvaccinated” should be reduced to “total misery… break their spirit… to force compliance and so that they learn not to resist government mandates.

Students Think America Oppresses Women...Then They Hear About Afghanistan
Since the Taliban invaded Afghanistan, many people are worried about the rights of women and children under Taliban rule in the country. Reports show that women are already being beaten and killed on the streets. At the same time, many continue to believe that women in America are oppressed and treated unfairly.
Campus Reform reporter Ophelie Jacobson talked with female students at the University of Central Florida about what is happening in Afghanistan and how that compares to the treatment women receive in the United States. All of the students Campus Reform talked to said that women are oppressed in this country.
“There’s definitely some unfair treatment in some aspects,” one student said. “We already have a lower pay range even if we are overqualified for the position,” another student said. When Jacobson told students about the treatment that women receive under the Taliban, the students were shocked.
“It makes me very nervous for the young girls growing up who might not be able to get an education,” one student said. Students told Jacobson that learning how Afghani women will be treated by the Taliban changes their perspective on what women deal with in America. “Obviously in other areas it’s a lot worse. With that situation, now that I know, obviously there's not as much to complain about here than over there,” one student said.
“We still got it a lot better than many other women in other countries around the world,” another student said. Does seeing what is happening in Afghanistan make these young women more grateful to be in America? Watch the full video above to find out.
