Creating a "Tele-Tron" With Affordable Parts
I have been wanting to do some modifications to an Asian-made Deltatone, t-style guitar I have. Unfortunately, American made pickups and electrinics are expensive so I decided to try out guitarfetish.com to change out some parts on this old guitar. It ending up being a fun father-son learning experience that I am glad I did with my son. We swapped out the pickups, pickguard, bridge, and all the electronics to turn it into a Filter-tron powered Telecaster. A Tele-Tron.
My son and I call it the:
"Tuxedo Tele-Tron"
- Pickups : "Hard" GF Tron (Filtertron) pickups with Alnico V Magnets (Equiped with "Kwik Connect", 4 wires, soldered as 2 wire.
- Pickguard, Pearloid, cut for GF Tron
- Bridge, cut for GF Tron
- xgp (guitarfetish) "prewired" telecaster electronics with full size 500K volume and tone pots and 3 position switch.
- Strings D'addario NYXL .11-.50
- Amp used: Blackstar HT5 head and cab, 12" speaker.
- Filmed with cell phone. LG Velvet 5G Phone.
- Edited in InShot.
Enjoy. God Bless.
But, what do I know?!

Revenge of the Sccy - Finally Got a Sccy DVG-1 That Works! (Part 2)
Part 2 of The Sccy Is Failing! video.
Context:
I have owned a Sccy CPX-2 Pistol for many years. I used to carry it as a back up gun on duty as a police officer. I loved it . . . . except the terribly long double action only trigger. I wished for years that Sccy, an American Company, would produce an affordable striker fired version of their pistols. Finally, they did and I had to get my hands on one.
Unfortunately, the DVG-1 I received was a total lemon. It would not run at all. It kept having stovepipes, failures to feed, failures to extract, etc. So, I sent my long-awaited DVG-1 back to Sccy for repair. They sent it back just as terrible as it was before. New magazines did NOT fix the problem. So, take two. I sent it back to Sccy again. This time, they sent me a completely new DVG-1 and it runs great! It took two attempts at warranty repair, and ultimately a total replacement, but they got me a good one finally.
This video, all filmed in single takes and spliced together, is the first rounds through the new, new DVG-1 Pistol. Sccy made it right.

The Sccy Is Failing! (Part 1)
I purchased the Sccy CPX-2 years ago as my first concealed carry pistol. It ran great and I even ended up carrying it as a backup gun for years as a police officer. That pistol always ran flawlessly and I was impressed by the CPX-2's quality, affordability, and that it was an American made pistol. I was a Sccy fan instantly but the one thing I didn't like about the CPX-2 was the long, heavy, double action only trigger. I hoped that Sccy would someday make a Striker Fired gun.
Finally, the wait was over with the release of the DVG-1. The DVG-1 (David Vs Goliath) offered a Striker Fired version of the CPX-2 I loved. I purchased a DVG-1 in November of 2022 and I was so excited to get it out to the range and shoot it.
Unfortunately, it was a complete lemon and would not fire more than two rounds in a row without a failure to feed, stove pipe, failure to extract, or any other problem. Thankfully Sccy's warranty amd amazing customer service team allowed me to send it back in for repairs. This video is the first shots of my DVG-1 back from Sccy. Unfortunately, I opened up the box, loaded in quality Federal 9mm ammunition, and it's still stunk. I got so frustrated with the multiple failures that I pulled out my cell phone and filmed this video in real time as the gun was failing so that I could make Sccy aware of exactly what was going wrong so they could finally get it fixed right.
Note, Sccy did eventually make it right with a complete replacement gun. Video on that new gun to follow.
