Southeastern Taiwan hit by strong earthquake, hundreds still trapped
A 6.8 magnitude earthquake hit the sparsely populated southeastern part of Taiwan on Sunday, the island’s weather bureau said, derailing train carriages, causing a convenience store to collapse and trapping hundreds on mountain roads.

The U.S. Federal Reserve delivered its third straight 75-basis point interest rate hike on Wednesday, in its campaign to drive borrowing costs high enough to bring down 40-year high inflation. Het historische huis aan de Oudezijds Voorburgwal was het woonhuis van majoor Bosshardt, waar zij kwetsbare mensen opving uit de binnenstad van Amsterdam. Het woonhuis is teruggebracht in oude staat en wordt een huis van beleving in ‘er voor een ander zijn’. De huiskamer van het pand zal een toevluchtsoord blijven voor kwetsbare mensen uit de Amsterdamse samenleving.
