SHOCK STUDY - 42% of Gym Goers Probably Aren't Going Back to the Gym
I came across a study the other day that is another bad omen for the fitness industry. Gyms across the world are closing their doors permanently due to the lockdowns. In the US alone, over 100,000 small businesses have closed down, many of which are local mom and pop gyms who took years of elbow grease to open.
According to a survey of 2,000 active gym goers:
-42% have home gyms.
-24% will never return to the gym.
-26% refuse to enter a gym that enforces masks
-26% refuse to enter a gym that doesn't enforce masks
This is very bad news, to say the least. If you own a fitness related business, now is the time to move online; if you plan on weathering the economic storm we're in. Things will most likely return to normal, but the amount of damage already done will likely take years to heal. My heart goes out to all of the small business owners who are having their lives destroyed by all of this.
