American rapper and actor, Kaalan Walker has been sentenced to 50 years to life in prison after being convicted of raping four women and three teenage girls he met on social media from 2013 to 2018. The 27-year-old rapper will be spending the next half of a century behind bars.

This was made known in a statement shared by the group’s management company, Big Hit Music, via Twitter on Monday. The oldest member of the group, Jin, 29, will be the first to enlist in the army while other members, RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook will follow suit according to their own “individual plans.” The group, however, plans to reconvene in 2025. The release read in part, “The members of BTS are currently moving forward with plans to fulfill their military service. Group member, Jin, will initiate the process as soon as his schedule for his solo release is concluded at the end of October.

China has banned the sale of flavoured e-cigarettes as part of a wide-ranging crackdown on the industry. The new rules mean vapes that have flavourings other than tobacco – such as those that taste fruity or sweet – cannot be sold on the domestic market. But they can still be manufactured in China to be shipped around the world, including to the UK, where Chinese-made brands such as Elfbar, known for its range of flavoured disposable vapes, are popular. The ban, which comes into effect this month, follows a tightening of other rules relating to e-cigarettes, including a ban on selling them online and an order for packaging to include warning labels that say they are harmful to health and must not be used by schoolchildren. In a Twitter post, @OluwaseunP, the master of ceremonies, narrated how Obi walked in while Obasanjo was making his speech. The 2023 LP flagbearer took a seat at the back of the hall after refusing to take one of those reserved for VIPs. “OBJ noticed & told them, “leave him alone o”. He then went himself to bring Obi to the front & gave him his own seat. Then said, “my job is done”, the tweet added.
