Big Pumpkin Spider Found on my Front Door
Big Pumpkin Spider Found on my Front Door
This is a big creepy looking spider I found on my front door this morning. Technically it’s called a marbled orb weaver, but it’s often referred to as a pumpkin spider.

This is one creepy looking bug! But in no way is it as big as those fake pics we see on the web.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solifugae
From Wiki: Solifugae is an order of animals in the class Arachnida known variously as camel spiders, wind scorpions, sun spiders, or solifuges. The order includes more than 1,000 described species in about 147 genera. Despite the common names, they are neither true scorpions (order Scorpiones) nor true spiders (order Araneae). Most species of Solifugae live in dry climates and feed opportunistically on ground-dwelling arthropods and other small animals. The largest species grow to a length of 12–15 cm (5–6 in), including legs. A number of urban legends exaggerate the size and speed of the Solifugae, and their potential danger to humans, which is negligible.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latrodectus_geometricus
From Wiki: L. geometricus is slightly smaller and generally lighter in color than the black widow species; the color can range from tan to dark brown to black, with shades of grey also possible. Like the black widow species in the United States, L. geometricus has a prominent hourglass-shaped marking on the underside of the abdomen; the brown widow's hourglass, however, is usually a vivid orange or a yellowish color. Unlike the black widow, L. geometricus has a black-and-white geometric pattern on the dorsal side of its abdomen. They also have stripes on their legs.
Black Widow Spider: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latrodectus
From Wiki: Latrodectus is a broadly distributed genus of spiders with several species that, together, are commonly known as true widows. This group is composed of those often loosely called black widow spiders, brown widow spiders, and similar spiders. However, such general "common names" are of limited use, as the diversity of species is much greater. A member of the family Theridiidae, this genus contains 32 species, which include several North American "black widows" (southern black widow Latrodectus mactans, western black widow Latrodectus hesperus, and northern black widow Latrodectus variolus).

Deer Nursing a Fawn in Front of Our Trail Cam
Deer Nursing a Fawn in Front of Our Trail Cam
Learn more about deer here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deer
From Wiki: Deer are browsers, and feed primarily on foliage of grasses, sedges, forbs, shrubs and trees, with additional consumption of lichens in northern latitudes during winter. They have small, unspecialized stomachs by ruminant standards, and high nutrition requirements. Rather than eating and digesting vast quantities of low-grade fibrous food as, for example, sheep and cattle do, deer select easily digestible shoots, young leaves, fresh grasses, soft twigs, fruit, fungi, and lichens. The low-fibered food, after minimal fermentation and shredding, passes rapidly through the alimentary canal. The deer require a large amount of minerals such as calcium and phosphate in order to support antler growth, and this further necessitates a nutrient-rich diet. There are, however, some reports of deer engaging in carnivorous activity, such as eating dead alewives along lakeshores or depredating the nests of northern bobwhites.

Learn more about bobcats here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobcat
From Wiki: The bobcat (Lynx rufus), also known as the red lynx, is a medium-sized cat native to North America. It ranges from southern Canada through most of the contiguous United States to Oaxaca in Mexico.
It has distinctive black bars on its forelegs and a black-tipped, stubby (or "bobbed") tail, from which it derives its name. It reaches a body length of up to 125 cm (49 in). It is an adaptable predator inhabiting wooded areas, semi-desert, urban-edge, forest-edge, and swampland environments. It remains in some of its original range, but populations are vulnerable to local extinction by coyotes and domestic animals. Though the bobcat prefers rabbits and hares, it hunts insects, chickens, geese and other birds, small rodents, and deer. Prey selection depends on location and habitat, season, and abundance. Like most cats, the bobcat is territorial and largely solitary, although with some overlap in home ranges. It uses several methods to mark its territorial boundaries, including claw marks and deposits of urine or feces. The bobcat breeds from winter into spring and has a gestation period of about two months.

Electric Bike Crash Super73 Z1
Electric Bike Crash Super73 Z1
Out checking the game cams, and I missed a turn. On the downhill prior to the crash, I was easily doing well over 20MPH, I did not want to slow down too much, because I needed the momentum after the turn because the road starts going uphill. Miscalculated, misjudged, and flat out made a bad decision. Oh, well.
