A native of Cocoa Beach, Florida, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Scott W. Dyer died on 11 October 2006 in Banditemur, Afghanistan. Dyer enlisted in the Army as a Cavalry Scout in 1987. He completed the Special Forces Qualification Course in 1994. After several deployments, Dyer graduated from Warrant Officer Candidate School in 2003.
