Oh yeah! Oh yeah! It's amazing. God is good. The finished patio is revealed, edging stones in place, queque the bird music, add the kid blooper at the end, everyone take your places, action! What else can I say, the final project speaks for itself. I started my journey to overcome a bad tree stump situation, make my backyard liveable and useable. I have accomplished that with God's help. Next step is finalizing the extreme right side of the house and the left side, and adding my patio furniture. Well I will add the furniture first while I keep working on the sides. It's time to reveal in the open, the image which have been in my thoughts. (The angle of the video is a bit weird, maybe I dreamed this.) The finished patio surface. Look to see how I complete the laying of the pavers and secured the open end. The surface is 14'x 7', with a 1' edge for decorative stones. I used a PL concrete glue for the final row, laid directly on top of the original slab. Can't wait sit here, relax and drink my favorite tea in the morning. Listen to the birds, watch them fly about. They seem to like my backyard. Can hardly wait.

Sand, pavers, tampering. I'm moving a lot of weight here. I'm working over several days, mainly evenings and weekends to get this done. The summer evenings are long in Indiana, so I have a lot of daylight. I sometimes work upto 9:30 pm on my patio. Eventually I will explain why. As I payed the 1st row, I measured for 8ft, but realized I could only fit 7. The 8th block was 1/2 inch over my "single mom retaining wall". No good. God gave me a solution. Make it 7ft, set the paver edging in place to hold both the sand and paver block in place. I will have a uniform edging/space for decorative pond pebbles. None of this was planned. I'm moving along with the Spirit.

Oh yes, it's that moment! I have my hands on the paver blocks. Hard work is rewarding..can you hear my sigh from effort. It's good when you can pour your energy into something absolutely worthwhile. I am using Sakrete step 2 leveling sand, it comes in 50lb bags. The pavers are 12 x12 grey paver blocks. My strong sons help to move multiple bags close to where I need them. I do the final lift, rip and pour. I noticed the sand is wet when I open the bag, makes it easier to work with. I didn't tell my kids because it also made the bags heavier. It's been on a pallet in the yard for about 2-weeks, and it rained. So wet sand. Good dust control well I'm tamping. We use a wheel barrow to move 3 bags at a time.

Excellent 👌 progress. I layered the second level of the patio base. This video shows what the complete base. I'm using bagged pebble stones.

My DIY patio, backyard makeover is rolling along. I have a flat surface and I'm layering the base material. Can you spot the feet of 11-year in this video? My kids are amazing. I am using pea pebbles as the second layer for paver base.

A little bit extra here. I capture a bit of my work to lay the pebble stones. My 11-year old is the camera man... prepare yourself.

I'm finally there. Second layer people!. I am creating a patio in my journey to re_discover my backyard. I slayed some giants to get to this stage. Here I start layering pea pebbles to establish a good foundation for the patio. Be sure to check out my earlier videos to see where I started.

Today, I made strides. I am progressing on my journey to create a breakfast patio in my backyard. I'm doing this DIY project with the voluntold help of my 2 sons, near 12 and 16. I dugged down the area, to lay out the layer of gravel/ stone bed for the patio. It's taking shape. Have a look. If you haven't seen the earlier videos be sure to check out #1 through 3.
