Colossal Black Holes Dance at Heart of Galaxy
Astronomers find evidence for the tightest-knit supermassive black hole duo observed to date
By Whitney Clavin
Locked in an epic cosmic waltz 9 billion light years away, two supermassive black holes appear to be orbiting around each other every two years. The two giant bodies each have masses that are hundreds of millions of times larger than that of our sun, and the objects are separated by a distance roughly 50 times that which separates our sun and Pluto. When the pair merge in roughly 10,000 years, the titanic collision is expected to shake space and time itself, sending gravitational waves across the universe.
A Caltech-led team of astronomers has discovered evidence for this scenario taking place within a fiercely energetic object known as a quasar. Quasars are active cores of galaxies in which a supermassive black hole is siphoning material from a disk encircling it. In some quasars, the supermassive black hole creates a jet that shoots out at near the speed of light. The quasar observed in the new study, PKS 2131-021, belongs to a subclass of quasars called blazars in which the jet is pointing toward the Earth. Astronomers already knew quasars could possess two orbiting supermassive black holes, but finding direct evidence for this has proved difficult.
Reporting in The Astrophysical Journal Letters, the researchers argue that PKS 2131-021 is a very rare candidate for a pair of supermassive black holes caught in the act of merging. The first candidate pair, within a quasar called OJ 287, orbit each other at greater distances, circling every nine years versus the two years it takes for the PKS 2131-021 pair to complete an orbit.
The telltale evidence came from radio observations of PKS 2131-021 that span 45 years. According to the study, a powerful jet emanating from one of the two black holes within PKS 2131-021 is shifting back and forth due to the pair’s orbital motion. This causes periodic changes in the quasar’s radio-light brightness. Five different observatories registered these oscillations, including Caltech’s Owens Valley Radio Observatory (OVRO), the University of Michigan Radio Astronomy Observatory (UMRAO), MIT’s Haystack Observatory, the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO), Metsähovi Radio Observatory in Finland, and NASA’s Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE) space satellite.
The combination of the radio data yields a nearly perfect sinusoidal light curve unlike anything observed from quasars before.
“When we realized that the peaks and troughs of the light curve detected from recent times matched the peaks and troughs observed between 1975 and 1983, we knew something very special was going on,” says Sandra O’Neill, lead author of the new study and an undergraduate student at Caltech who is mentored by Tony Readhead, Robinson Professor of Astronomy, Emeritus.
Most, if not all, galaxies possess monstrous black holes at their cores, including our own Milky Way galaxy. When galaxies merge, their black holes “sink” to the middle of the newly formed galaxy and eventually join together to form an even more massive black hole. As the black holes spiral toward each other, they increasingly disturb the fabric of space and time, sending out gravitational waves, which were first predicted by Albert Einstein more than 100 years ago.

The Artificial Intelligence Threat - Atlantis Rising Magazine
Visit Atlantis Rising Research Group at https://www.atlantisrising.com/
Humanity faces a crisis. At the rapid rate Artificial Intelligence (AI) is developing, we will quickly reach the point of Ray Kurzweil’s “Singularity”—the point where AI equals human intelligence. Then AI will proceed beyond—to “Superintelligence.” The superintelligent AI will be so smart they will have the capability to destroy their creators. Unless, as a new theme in the AI world argues, we learn to impart human values to these machines—a process (the “values loading problem”) now seen as extremely tricky—we are toast. Yup, like toast, we will be eaten for breakfast. Maybe we last until lunch.
The AI Onslaught
AI has made tremendous progress. AI programs are current champions in a multitude of games—chess, checkers, backgammon, Othello, even Jeopardy. Unfortunately, each of these programs has logic and algorithms very specific to the game; none are generalizable to a true, general intelligence (AGI)—what humans are considered to be. AI has seen three major approaches. The first is the standard “symbolic” programming with which most are familiar. It has led to theorem provers, language-understanding programs, and problem solvers. Another approach—evolutionary algorithms—has attempted to “evolve” programs. A third, neural networks, has numerous achievements, generally in applying statistical techniques to detecting patterns. It boasts nearly 150,000 academic papers. But all lead to a large black hole from which no clear exit is seen. On the other side stand two high, admittedly untaken, hills—common-sense knowledge and true-language comprehension.
The two hills are connected. Here is a commonsense problem: Given a 12-inch cubical box, a razor blade, rubber bands, staples, a pencil, string, toothpicks, a piece of cheese—create a mousetrap. We might make a “crossbow” where the pencil is inserted into a hole in the box’s side, pulled back outside the box by the rubber bands, notched in place by the toothpick, and a string tied to the toothpick and the cheese. Or we might create a “beheader,” with razorblade notched into the pencil, one pencil end anchored in the box corner, the pencil-axe raised up by the toothpick, with string attached again to toothpick and cheese. Both solutions require concrete knowledge and experience of physical dynamics, forces, properties of materials. Both are “analogic” solutions. The linguistic statement, “The mouse trap is a crossbow,” is an analogy. Douglas Hofstadter of Gödel, Escher, Bach fame, in his recent tome (Surfaces and Essences), while showing indisputably that analogy is the foundational operation of human thought, ridicules all current AI language-understanding programs (SIRI included). The problem is that language is based on analogy, and Hofstadter clearly doubts that computers, as we know them, can handle analogy at all.
But the black hole and untaken hills are not seen as stopping the superintelligence onslaught. Oxford professor, Nick Bostrom (Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, Strategies), having taken us to the edge of the black hole in his book, veers away, placing his bet on whole brain emulation (WBE). WBE relies on the neuroscientists to map, via neural recordings, the functioning of the brain. But this is a shaky bet; WBE is an Everest. We face an 85-billion-neuron brain with roughly 1,000 types of neurons, the functions of none of these types we understand. We do not know basic facts, such as how memory (our experience) is stored. We are quite certain that the brain is not using what we understand currently as “computation,” but we do not know what this other form is. We face data from neural recordings that will be so massive, it will be in zeta-bytes, yet any interpretation will be completely dependent on a guiding theory—note, a theory—when we have none such. It will be, as neuroscientists Marcus and Freeman note (The Future of the Brain), like trying to learn what a laptop is and does by taking electrical recordings of its components when we have no theory of, or knowledge of, the existence of something called “software.”
This is to say, we really have no clue what type of “device” the brain actually is. Yet Bostrom, with the rest of AI, sails serenely on from this subject of brain emulation, confident without a qualm that we will have recreated the brain as a silicon and wires device. Since it is certain that we will have electronics, we can speed up the transmission velocities, say, by 10,000x, thus allowing the device to quickly develop, creating and moving to a superintelligence and thus to the terrible threat of that future breakfast. But, but… what if the brain is a “device” that cannot be replicated in silicon at all?

Red Pyramid Redux - Atlantis Rising Research Group

British ancient-history writer and information technologist Matt Sibson operates a popular YouTube channel called Ancient Architects. According to his Facebook page Sibson is “currently re-writing the history of the Stonehenge landscape with new interpretations of Neolithic monuments.” Sibson is among those who regularly challenge orthodox Egyptology, but he does so with a level of detail and a command of the facts that make him quite formidable, and not easily dismissed.
Among his arguments is that most of the monuments attributed to dynastic Egypt are, in fact, much older, a view this magazine heartily endorses. We have enjoyed several of his videos, but we were especially taken by his June 18, 2018, presentation “The Red Pyramid Secret Chamber.”
In the twelve-minute piece, Sibson focuses on the curious chamber found beneath the Red Pyramid of Dahshur—sometimes called, but without evidence, the ‘burial chamber’.
Sibson quotes the late John Anthony West who believed the ‘chamber’ was a remnant from a time even earlier than the Red Pyramid itself, which, incidentally, is conventionally believed to be older than the more famous pyramids of Giza.
In February of 1999 Atlantis Rising sponsored a West-led tour of Egypt, during which this writer noted aloud the odd disparity between the chamber and the pyramid. Several points stood out. The stones in the pit at the bottom of the chamber were clearly of a different type than the structure above. Moreover, while the pyramid had been built with great precision, the pit was chaotic. And even though its stones were doubtless cut artificially,
their edges had been rounded in a way that, to me, suggested water weathering. I thought the place must be part of a much older site, over which the pyramid had been built, possibly to memorialize a sacred, prediluvian, place. Whatever weathering had occurred had been arrested by the sheltering pyramid. I thought I was stating the obvious, but West, who overheard me, became excited. “I think you’re absolutely right,” he exclaimed, “I don’t see any other possible explanation.”
In AR #19 (June of ’99), I wrote “Pushing Back the Portals of Civilization,” about our discussion. “West referred again and again to what he felt was a truly important discovery, even dubbing the chamber ‘Kenyon’s Cavern,’ adding that he felt the place might serve, as nothing had yet to clinch his case [for a much greater antiquity of ancient Egypt than is believed
by mainstream Egyptologists]... ‘The opposition is always saying, how can the Sphinx be the only evidence of this earlier civilization? Well it isn’t.’ ”
After seeing Sibson’s video, I sent a note to John West’s celebrated colleague on the famous re-dating of the Sphinx, geologist and Atlantis Rising contributor, Dr. Robert Schoch, to ask if he had heard my story. He immediately e-mailed back: “I know the chamber well and yes, John Anthony West told me you observed its seemingly greater antiquity—a really
important observation.” Schoch also supports the weathering hypothesis for the stones and its explosive dating implications for ancient Egypt.
John West, Sibson believes, must have been close to the truth, but the most important discovery in the place, he thinks, may be yet to come. On the wall opposite the viewing platform, Sibson points to what certainly appears to be a removable block that might lead to some unknown interior void beyond. Moreover, he reveals, there are what seem to be tool marks around the stone’s edges that he believes show that someone else may have already attempted, and possibly succeeded in, accessing the Red Pyramid’s mystery ‘void.’
Once again the true history of ancient Egypt is left unfinished but not, perhaps, for much longer.

Who Were the Olmecs? New Discoveries Put the Spotlight on Some Very Ancient People.
BY DAVID H. CHILDRESS
In January of 2007, it was announced that the ruins of a lost city had
been discovered in the Valley of Mexico, just 25 miles south of Mexico
City. Dubbed Zazacatla, the city was found near Xochitepec by Mexican
archaeologist Giselle Canto. The ruins, it was said, had been left by the
Olmecs—the strange and ancient culture believed to be the mother culture of Central America. Reports at the time, however, expressed surprise that this “new” Olmec city was not on the Gulf Coast, where most previous Olmec sites had been located, but was instead hundreds of miles inland.
Once again, the contradictions of the Olmecs were confounding and confusing conventional archaeology.
The oldest, and possibly greatest enigma of early Mexico and North
America is that of the Olmecs. Olmecs are now often referred to as Proto-Mayans by academic archaeologists, or Olcans, meaning inhabitants of Olcan, the “Olmec Land” as it is now being called.

Navel of the World or Stargate?
The Argument over the Real Purpose of the Giza Pyramids Rages On
BY FRANK JOSEPH
The Great Pyramid has been many things to many people. Most
Egyptologists are certain it is nothing more than the tomb of a
megalomaniacal king. Less mainstream researchers are convinced it
is a time capsule. Still, others conclude it is an observatory of some kind. A
modern proponent of the Great Pyramid’s astronomical significance is the
famous construction engineer, Robert Bauval. He argues that the pyramidbuilders
oriented it to the Belt of Orion (Osiris, to the Egyptians) around
2450 BC. This is some 200 years later than majority scientific opinion
claims the structure was built, a conclusion that went against the grain of
conventional and unconventional researchers alike. According to Bauval,
the placement and alignment of all three Giza pyramids were part of their
function as funerary temples, in which the soul of the deceased pharaoh
became identified with an immortal star in the heavens. He conjectures an
elaborate ceremony, during which the royal mummy was transported from
one astral alignment to another. His speculation
is grounded in original source materials, such as Utterance Number 245 in The Pyramid Texts addressed to the would-be pharaoh: “Assume your place in heaven among the stars, for you are a solitary star, a companion of the Great Sphinx. You shall look down upon Osiris while he commands the spirits, yet you are apart from him, and not among them.”

Could Nazca Be a Map of the World? - Atlantis Rising Research Group News Blog
Visit Atlantis Rising Research Group at https://www.atlantisrising.com/
We live within the ruins of an ancient structure, whose vast size has hitherto rendered it invisible,” wrote the late John Michell in the first edition of his classic 1969 book The View over Atlantis. Across much of the earth, he said, are ancient earthworks and stone monuments built for an unknown purpose, with shared features suggesting they could be part of a worldwide system which he believed served the science of a lost ancient civilization which Plato called ‘Atlantis.’ A mysterious network of long straight lines called “leys,” Michell believed, link the ancient landscape of Britain with counterparts in China, Australia, South America and elsewhere. Now, a new statistical study of a similar vast network of lines inscribed on Peru’s arid Nazca plateau puts Michell’s notions on virtual steroids.
According to independent researchers Frank Maglione Nicholson, Ken Phungrasamee and David Grimason, (nazcasolution.com), the ancient lines and enormous geoglyphs on the Nazca plateau constitute a virtual map of the planet. A “Great Circle Map:,” they call it, “a gnomonic projection with the center of the Earth as its cartographic view point.” Many vectors implied by the positioning of gigantic animal figures laid down by ancient artisans on the desert floor, were projected by the authors to encircle the entire planet. They were then able to show how many coherent patterns connect, not only most of the world’s megalithic sites, but also its significant natural features—including continents, great water bodies, and even volcanos. By using well established techniques of statistical analysis, the authors claim to provide “overwhelming evidence” that their theory is “true.”
Some observers see a parallel between the network postulated in the new Nazca hypothesis and the ‘portolan charts’ of medieval navigators, where radiating lines indicated the direction and distance to particular ports. In 2014, researchers at Utrecht University showed that the portolans revealed sophisticated geographical knowledge derived from unknown, and much older, sources. The ‘portolans,’ it has been speculated, may echo lost source maps from remote ages. Peru’s Nazca plateau, the new study’s authors believe, is a similar project, but on a far grander scale, and from a much earlier period?
In 2000, researcher J.M. Allen attracted some attention by suggesting that the Andean Plateau, of Peru and Bolivia was the true location of Plato’s Atlantis, but possible connections between lost ancient civilizations and South America had been proposed long before. Early in the twentieth century archaeologist Arthur Posnansky, director of Bolivia’s National Museum, applied archaeo-astronomical methods to argue that Tiahuanaco near lake Titicaca in the Andes was built seventeen thousand years ago by a people unrelated to local indian tribes. Poznansky pointed to architectural similarities between Puma Punku and Easter Island, 2,180 miles west of Chile. Both locations, he believed, must have been independently influenced by an even earlier, though much higher, culture.

Viking Runes: More Ancient than Imagined.
Taking a New Look at these Enigmatic Messages from a Forgotten Past.
BY FRANK JOSEPH
The well-known “runes” used by medieval Scandinavians make up
a syllabary known as Futhark from its first seven letters. It is composed
of phonetic symbols belonging to an all-purpose alphabet,
with commemorative, recording, identifying, as well as magical purposes.
Runes have been found from Iceland and Greenland to the Isle of Man, Athens, and the Black Sea. Some were carved into the floor of Istanbul’s Hagia Sophia Cathedral. About a dozen others, far more controversial, appear in North America. Foremost among these is the Kensington Runestone, a long inscription which recounts the early 14th century voyage of Christian Vikings to Minnesota, and Oklahoma’s Heavener Runestone, emblazoned with a single name: Gnomedal, possibly “Valley of the Gnomes,” perhaps a deprecatory reference to local tribal Indians a thousand years ago. Scholars have identified about five hundred runes in Denmark, compared to an estimated seven hundred fifty in Norway. Sweden has the largest collection, with approximately three thousand examples. More than a thousand runes may be found in the province of Uppland alone. Virtually all of these inscriptions date from the late 8th to the mid 13th centuries, mostly commemorating the deeds and deaths of royalty.

Giants in the Earth
Are the Bible and Other Ancient Sources to Be Believed?
BY MARK AMARU PINKHAM
Were there really giants roaming the earth in ancient times as the famous Biblical passage informs us? If we are to believe the books of the Bible that follow Genesis, tribes of giants were still inhabiting much of the Middle East even when the Israelites arrived in the “Promised Land.” In the Old Testament we are informed of the numerous ensuing battles between the Israelites and certain giant tribes known as the Anakim, Zuzim, Zamzummin, Emim, Avvim, Horites and Rephaim. The most famous giant was, of course, Goliath, but at only 11 feet tall, he was dwarfed by other neighboring giants, including the 16-foot tall King Og of Bashan. Such exotic imagery of towering giants certainly makes for gripping Biblical reading: however, if the Jewish text is to be accepted as more than simple fantasy, it needs to be corroborated by references to bands of ancient giants in the histories of other cultures around the globe. Apparently it is. Many cultures, including the Egyptians, the Greeks, the Romans, the Hindus, some Native American tribes explicitly mention both giant ancestors and even entire giant races in their records. The Codices of the Aztecs, for example, divide time into five cycles or “Suns” and claim that many thousands of years ago during the Second Sun a race of giants covered the earth. One Aztec codex currently on view in the Vatican Library states:

Publish YOUR book with this “Collabrative Publishing” resource to our readers.
Visit https://atlantisrising.com/test/ for details.
Atlantis Rising Research Group is proud to offer this “Collabrative Publishing” resource to our readers. If you are ready to publish with experts, contact GM Books and tell them Atlantis Rising sent you.
A new author has the opportunity to publish his or her book in a number of places including GMBooks.com. We believe we are the best publishers for first-time authors. On-line, there are numerous companies, however, each of these options has negative consequences.
By selecting the online option, a writer needs to be aware that he or she is compelled to become an instant editor, book designer, printer, and bookbinder—each carries a considerable amount of risk as mistakes can be costly. When you decide to self-publish a book, selecting the online direction transforms a writer into a business manager and instant publishing technician. Be aware that nearly all online publishers, including Amazon, rely on book production done ‘off shore’ in foreign countries where many of their “publishing” personnel do not have a healthy grasp of the English language. Common errors are spelling, grammar, and punctuation, the nemesis of a writer.
While online production is less expensive—the errors by the author or the production people add extra changes that do not come cheap and that original ‘low price’ suddenly escalates into major costs. Be advised that television and motion picture producers shy away from self-published authors who are not backed by a reputable publisher. This is why GMBooks.com is the best publisher for first-time authors.
There are reasons major publishers do not accept new manuscripts, especially from unknown or inexperienced writers. Like any business, publishing is based on profit.
We have found that most writers prefer to be left alone to write and leave all the production details to experienced professionals…that is why GMBooks.com has survived and celebrated our 35th year.
Therefore, the author can be assured of reducing or eliminate their risk by a “self-publish” or “co-publishing” arrangement. Hybrid and Collaborative publishing is the best option for the author who is willing to do some further work and financing on his or her title. GM Books is an established, respected producer of over 500 titles including, Witness to War: Images of the Persian Gulf War which won a Pulitzer Prize for our client the Los Angeles Times. We have produced 7 Best-Sellers. We at GMBooks.com are expert hand-holders for first-time authors and an alternative for experienced writers who have become disillusioned with the traditional publishing system. In contrast to major publishing houses that take 12 months to publish your book, we can transform your manuscript into a book in approximately 3 months. Your association with GMBooks.com becomes a harmonious joint effort as opposed to an impersonal business transaction where the author hands overall control to a major publisher.

Return to Fatima - Atlantis Rising News Blog
Visit Atlantis Rising https://atlantisrising.com/
Whether the COVID19 pandemic will permanently end showings at your neighborhood cinema remains to be seen, but in the summer of 2020, the closest thing to a traditional summer blockbuster was the latest release from YouTube. It should come as no surprise, that in this unforgettably difficult year, the small-screen’s largest offering would remind us of another turbulent time, when, just over a century ago, another great pandemic ravaged the planet.
Fatima is the feature-length fully produced story of three young Portuguese shepherds who, in the Spring of 1917, claimed to have witnessed near their village (Fatima), an appearance by the Virgin Mary herself. The movie primarily focuses on the account of 10-year-old Lucia dos Santos, the eldest, who died in 2005. The other two children, Francisco and Jacinta Marto, were destined to die in the great flu epidemic of 1918, but not before participating in a drama that would command worldwide attention—and, with the new film, may still. Most reviewers appear to be in the skeptical camp, seeing the film as a polished but, in their view, unsatisfying argument for miracles.
But miracles aside, the documented facts of the episode itself still command attention, if not amazement.
In May of 1917, the children reported seeing a “Lady more brilliant than the Sun” who prophesied that prayer would end the ‘Great War’ (WWI) that had raged since 1914. Years later, Lucia, who became a nun, would recall that the ‘Lady’ had specifically requested the consecration of Russia. Indeed, the events in Fatima, coincided strangely with the lead-up to Russia’s Bolshevik revolution, which began with “The October Revolution of 1917,” something Portuguese children wouldn’t know, much less, warn about.
Yet months earlier they had declared that the ‘Lady’ would appear on October 13 to perform a miracle for all to see. In the intervening months they endured a gauntlet of disbelief and hostility from neighbors and government officials. Nevertheless, on the appointed day, many pilgrims and readers of published accounts journeyed to the spot. An estimated 70,000 were present for what newspapers would call ‘The Miracle of the Sun.’
After a rainstorm with thousands of umbrellas raised, the sun appeared, quickly drying everything, but, then, said witnesses, it became an opaque spinning disc, casting multi-colored rays across the landscape. It was seen to careen toward the earth before zigzagging back to its normal position. The phenomenon was observed miles away. Primitive but authentic black-and white film shows the crowd’s astonishment at the spectacle. Yet, as strange as the Fatima story may seem, even stranger may be the Russian connection.

New evidence in search for the mysterious Denisovans
An international group of researchers led by the University of Adelaide has conducted a comprehensive genetic analysis and found no evidence of interbreeding between modern humans and the ancient humans known from fossil records in Island Southeast Asia. They did find further DNA evidence of our mysterious ancient cousins, the Denisovans, which could mean there are major discoveries to come in the region.
In the study published in Nature Ecology and Evolution , the researchers examined the genomes of more than 400 modern humans to investigate the interbreeding events between ancient humans and modern human populations who arrived at Island Southeast Asia 50,000–60,000 years ago.
In particular, they focused on detecting signatures that suggest interbreeding from deeply divergent species known from the fossil record of the area.
The region contains one of the richest fossil records (from at least 1.6 million years) documenting human evolution in the world. Currently there are three distinct ancient humans recognised from the fossil record in the area: Homo erectus, Homo floresiensis (known as Flores Island hobbits) and Homo luzonensis.
These species are known to have survived until approximately 50,000–60,000 years ago in the cases of Homo floresiensis and Homo luzonensis, and approximately 108,000 years for Homo erectus, which means they may have overlapped with the arrival of modern human populations.
The results of the study showed no evidence of interbreeding. Nevertheless, the team were able to confirm previous results showing high levels of Denisovan ancestry in the region.
Lead author and ARC Research Associate from the University of Adelaide Dr João Teixeira, said: “In contrast to our other cousins the Neanderthals, which have an extensive fossil record in Europe, the Denisovans are known almost solely from the DNA record. The only physical evidence of Denisovan existence has been a finger bone and some other fragments found in a cave in Siberia and, more recently, a piece of jaw found in the Tibetan Plateau.”
“We know from our own genetic records that the Denisovans mixed with modern humans who came out of Africa 50,000–60,000 years ago both in Asia, and as the modern humans moved through Island Southeast Asia on their way to Australia.
“The levels of Denisovan DNA in contemporary populations indicates that significant interbreeding happened in Island Southeast Asia.
Co-author Chris Stringer of the Natural History Museum in London added:
“While the known fossils of Homo erectus, Homo floresiensis and Homo luzonensis might seem to be in the right place and time to represent the mysterious ‘southern Denisovans’, their ancestors were likely to have been in Island Southeast Asia at least 700,000 years ago. Meaning their lineages are too ancient to represent the Denisovans who, from their DNA, were more closely related to the Neanderthals and modern humans.”
Co-author Prof Kris Helgen, Chief Scientist and Director of the Australian Museum Research Institute, said: “These analyses provide an important window into human evolution in a fascinating region, and demonstrate the need for more archaeological research in the region between mainland Asia and Australia.”
Helgen added: “This research also illuminates a pattern of ‘megafaunal’ survival which coincides with known areas of pre-modern human occupation in this part of the world. Large animals that survive today in the region include the Komodo Dragon, the Babirusa (a pig with remarkable upturned tusks), and the Tamaraw and Anoas (small wild buffalos).
“This hints that long-term exposure to hunting pressure by ancient humans might have facilitated the survival of the megafaunal species in subsequent contacts with modern humans. Areas without documented pre-modern human occurrence, like Australia and New Guinea, saw complete extinction of land animals larger than humans over the past 50,000 years.”
Dr Teixeira said: “The research corroborates previous studies that the Denisovans were in Island Southeast Asia, and that modern humans did not interbreed with more divergent human groups in the region. This opens two equally exciting possibilities: either a major discovery is on the way, or we need to re-evaluate the current fossil record of Island Southeast Asia.”
“Whichever way you choose to look at it, exciting times lie ahead in palaeoanthropology.”

When ‘Potbelly’s Are Attractive - Ancient Magnetic Technology - Atlantis Rising Magazine
Visit Atlantis Rising Research Group at https://www.atlantisrising.com/
Many centuries before the Mayans, a much more mysterious culture held sway in Central America. The pre-historic inhabitants of Guatemala’s Monte Alto region, were known as the Olmec, or the inhabitants of “Olmec Land.” Today conventional archaeology describes them as ‘proto Mayans,’ but a legacy including many immense, perfectly carved, stone heads—apparently of African origin—and other haunting images, has never been properly explained. And, but for those amazing sculptures, conventionally, but unreliably, dated to the first millennium BC, archaeologists have had little to go on. Lately, though new research has provided another clue to consider, electromagnetism. Artisans of the area, it turns out, understood not only its attractive powers, but how to incorporate it in their work product.
Rounded basalt carvings of obese humans–known as ‘potbelly sculptures’–have been studied for their magnetic properties. According to a Harvard report published in the Journal of Archaeological Science (June, 2019), the ‘potbelly sculptures’ are made from stone magnetized by natural lightning strikes, but their magnetic fields have been skillfully made to coincide with points of strength and weakness in the carved image. The center of a magnetic field, for example, lines up with the navel of a carved figure. The study’s conclusion was that the alignments were real and non random (https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/stor...). Yet Central America is not the only place where advanced ancient magnetic technology has been found.
Just 30 miles from Stonehenge in Southwest England, the monuments of Avebury provide another startling example. Roughly three times the size of Stonehenge, Avebury includes a complete English village and many gigantic standing stones whose true purpose has been lost to history. But, in their much read, and now out-of-print, 2005 book, Seed of Knowledge, Stone of Plenty: Understanding the Lost Technology of the Ancient Megalith-Builders, researcher John Burke, and photographer Kaj Halberg published an extensive study of Avebury’s magnetic (EM) fields. After taking over 1000 precise readings with a flux magnetometer, it was determined that of the 66 stones remaining upright at Avebury, all have north poles pointing toward the next stone in line. (https://www.aetherforce.energy/seed-o...)
Like loadstones, all stones have leftover magnetic polarity from when they were first formed in the earth. But, as with most such stones, like Avebury’s ‘sarsens,’ the polarity is so subtle that modern scientific instruments are required to measure it. The odds that such a fully aligned magnetic configuration could be accidental are comparable to those of flipping a coin 66 times and getting heads every time. The clear implication is that, over five thousand years ago, Avebury’s builders were capable of determining the magnetic polarity of the stones they used and had compelling reasons to arrange them as they did.
Burke and Halberg also took their electrostatic voltmeters and magnetometers to over 80 ancient sites in Europe, North America, and South America, and catalogued in their book many similar examples of the highly knowledgeable application of naturally produced and harnessed electromagnetism. The exposure of seeds to certain naturally occurring EM forces at many ancient mounds and megalithic sites, the authors believe, led to an expectation by the ancients of increased crop yields. When subjected to a mild electrostatic charge, they point out, seeds tend to propagate faster than those left unexposed. Nevertheless, the peculiar arrangement of electromagnet polarities among Avebury’s stones has remained a mystery to the authors.
Prior to the compass, which is thought to have been invented about 200 BC during the Han Dynasty in China, standard academic history makes no mention of such advanced ancient magnetic technology.

Nazi Plunder Comes to Light? - Atlantis Rising Research Group

According to May press reports, billions of dollars’ worth of lost Nazi loot may have been located.
Though greeted with skepticism by some experts, the story does include sensational details that—even in a time of pandemic, economic crises, and social turmoil—have excited media around the world.
At the end of WWII, the Nazis are purported to have hidden an estimated 28 tons of gold, stolen art, and other treasures in numerous secret locations. The details appear in the meticulous diary of an anonymous Waffen SS officer writing under the pseudonym ‘Michaelis.’ One site already renowned for WWII treasure, the Hochberg Palace in Roztoka, near Wałbrzych, Poland, is thought to be hiding an enormous cache, almost 200 feet below ground at the bottom of an ancient and disused well.
Many of the lost treasures, reportedly, were secreted shortly before the war’s end by Gunther Grundmann, German heritage conservator of Lower Silesia. Working under the direction of Hitler henchman Heinrich Himmler, Grundmann was trying to hide all Nazi-held treasure from the rapidly advancing, and much feared, Red army.
‘Michaelis,’ the diary’s author, worked for Grundmann. According to TheFirstNews.com, a prominent Polish news organization, the diary had been held since the war by a mysterious thousandyear- old German secret society in the small town of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt.
It has now been offered to the Polish nation as a gesture of atonement for the war. In the 1930s and ’40s, Quedlinburg was the scene of Nazi cult worship, but unlike the latter-day—and overtly political—Thule society that gave rise to the Nazi party, the history of the Quedlinburgers goes back to the early 10th century.
While many academic authorities dismiss as fanciful the suggestions that dark metaphysics could have been central to Nazi thinking, some believe hard evidence may yet emerge, and the Quedlinburg diary may help to fill the blanks. Most theories about occult influence on the Third Reich focus on Nazi SS chief Heinrich Himmler, who, himself, clearly subscribed to such ideas.
Indeed, Himmler believed himself the reincarnation of 10th-century Duke of Saxony and King of East Francia, Henry the Fowler, credited with founding the first medieval German state. Himmler, as is well known, liked to be called ‘King Henry.’
In keeping with his own Aryan-centric beliefs—essentially a Teutonic inversion of romantic Holy Grail mythology—he established and maintained a personal castle at Wewelsburg, complete with Round Table, monastic cells, and coats-of-arms for his chosen Gruppenfuhrer, the spiritual elect of the elect.
The castle, near Paderborn, was intended by Himmler to become the capital of a future SS state, with Nazism its virtual religion. Himmler also paid special attention to Quedlinburg. Photos of his participation in SS rituals there in 1938 can be found on the internet. As mentioned, the treasure diary describes art stolen from throughout Europe, including religious artifacts collected by the Ahnenerbe organization (Himmler’s think tank), and connected to SS special projects.
According to esoteric historian Mark Stavish, Himmler’s cadre would meet at planned ritualistic intervals in the Wewelsburg North Tower, and in its crypt where an ‘eternal’ flame burned. Renovated by slave labor from a nearby concentration camp, esoteric symbolism was clearly evident throughout. The entire town, in fact, was to be rebuilt to radiate in concentric circles, with the main road forming the shaft of a spear, and the triangular castle its point. Himmler believed the castle lay on a mystical power grid, formed on what dowsers sometimes call ‘ley’ lines, and was the ‘center of the world’ (Mittlepunkt der Welt), a familiar theme in Nordic mythology.
Many of the darkest banners, we know, are simply twisted or inverted versions of symbols that originated in ancient wisdom. The Nazi swastika, for one, is the reversed form of a symbol held sacred in many Eastern religions for thousands of years. According to Mark Stavish, when Hitler adopted the swastika as the Nazi symbol, he turned it counter-clockwise, thus making it—intentionally or otherwise—the traditional symbol of death.
As fans of Star Wars might say, the history of the world is a tale of eternal warfare between secret societies–where the priests of the ‘dark’ side attack the priests of ‘good,’ only to be foiled by sabers of light. The idea did not begin with George Lucas. For millennia, it has been the subtext, more or less, of many religions. But in today’s world, of at least 50 shades of grey, such themes are usually seen as too simplistic to be taken seriously by the more ‘sophisticated’ among us.

Psychokinesis
Did the Cold War Heat Up the PK Research Front?
During the “cold war” both the U.S. and the Soviet Union worried that the other side had developed the ability to use psychic powers for military purposes. Researchers Lynne Schroeder and Shiela Ostrander in their groundbreaking book, Psychic Discoveries Behind the Iron Curtain, detailed many experiments carried out in the U.S.S.R. and eastern Europe, including psychokinesis (PK). Others who documented the psychic developments behind the iron curtain included authors Henry Gris and William Dick. Many believe that such disclosures were a major impetus behind the U.S. military establishment’s development of its own capability and that its widely discussed remote viewing program, which came to be known as project Scannate, was the result. Whether the military remote viewers could actually influence remote physical objects which they viewed at a distance is not often discussed, but David Morehouse, a veteran of project Scannate has hinted that it was possible. Others have suggested that even assassination can be accomplished by such mind-only means.
Thanks to the publicity in the West several soviet psychics who, apparently, were able to influence physical objects with mind power alone became internationally famous. Among them were Alla Vingradova, whose husband Victor Adamenko is shown here holding a small electric light bulb which, when placed next to an object which had been influenced by his wife, would spontaneously light. Vingradova is shown moving a metal cigar tube by passing her hand over it. Also pictured is the so-called Russian PK superstar Nina Kulagina in 1977 moving a matchbook by PK. Unlike so-called spoon bender from Israel, Uri Geller, Kulagina complained that her PK efforts for the photography caused her to become physically exhausted.—Editor
In the 1970s, what is perhaps best described as a spoon-bending craze swept across America, and many other regions of the world as well. In large part this was engendered by the Israeli entertainer and “psychic” Uri Geller. Geller was said to be able to bend spoons, keys, and other metal objects by simply stroking them gently with his finger. Among other additional amazing feats, he reputedly could make broken wristwatches and clocks start ticking again, he could “see” inside sealed containers, and he could sometimes read minds. Geller’s “mind over matter” abilities were what really excited the crowds. A bent spoon or key, apparently done without applying any substantial force (just a light stroking of the metal so that it would weaken or “melt” to the point that in some cases it would break), appeared to be “objective” evidence of that which was impossible by any normal standards. A bent spoon or key was proof, for many people, of genuine paranormal abilities.

Science Was Wrong - Stanton Friedman - From Atlantis Rising Magazine

The history of aerospace technology is loaded with well-connected scientists who resisted change. There were prominent “experts” who thought flight was not to be. The great Lord Kelvin (1824–1907), President of the British Royal Society, in 1896 proclaimed: “I have not the smallest molecule of faith in aerial navigation other than ballooning or of expectation of good results from any of the trials we hear of.” Of course, the following year he also called Wilhelm Roentgen’s X‐rays an elaborate hoax. As it happens, Roentgen won the first Nobel Prize in physics in 1901 for his X‐ray discovery. The British Astronomer Royal Richard van der Riet Wooley proclaimed, when asked about space travel in January of 1956: “It’s utter bilge. I don’t think anybody will ever put up enough money to do such a thing. What good would it do us? It is all rather rot.” Could World War II have been ended sooner if jet engines had been implemented earlier in England where a patent had been granted in 1930? How many lives would have been saved if space travel had been followed up sooner providing better advance information about natural disasters, such as tornadoes and hurricanes, and early warning of attacks from enemies?
Communication techniques didn’t start changing until less than 200 years ago. The telegraph, telephone, television, the Internet, and cell phones were all targets for the impossibilists. Sometimes it required true persistence to overcome the inertia of the traditionalists. Why would one want to sit in front of a box watching pictures? Of what use is a telephone since there is nobody to call? How about the benefits of rapid, long distance, communication in medical situations or when ships at sea run into serious problems? Can we allow societal regulations to be established in response to pressures from people with a vested interest in continuing the status quo as opposed to recognition of the truth of the dangers?
Germ theory was first advanced in ancient Sanskrit texts and later proposed in 36 BC. But despite observational and experimental data, it was not widely accepted until late in the nineteenth century when Louis Pasteur discovered that microorganisms, not miasma, the poisonous atmosphere arising from swamps and putrid matter, cause disease. But his discovery was not immediately accepted. Many influential opponents from the scientific establishment clung to their archaic beliefs and were not quick to acknowledge that his germ theory of disease was valid. Attempts by his predecessors to impart evidence of the transmission of microscopic organisms as a cause of disease were largely unsuccessful. Careers were ruined. Many people died because of a failure to implement new treatments and new understanding of various diseases. Experts often dismissed the dangers of new treatments long after the data was available. How many contracted HIV/AIDS because of the failure of governments to take appropriate measures? Innovative scientists had a long history of facing harsh rebukes by the medical establishment.
Highly regarded but politically influenced scientists have promoted ideas that have led to human suffering. For example, Social Darwinism fueled the Eugenics movements in America and Germany and led to sterilization and extermination programs. The dark underbelly of corruption has reared its head in environmental science and thousands have died or been maimed due to methyl mercury poisoning. Lakes and streams across the world are contaminated. Those who consume the dangerous neurotoxin that bio‐accumulates up the food chain, face health problems, such as learning disabilities, deformities, and neurological disorders. Additionally, we are faced with environmental concerns over global warming. Should hundreds of billions of dollars be spent to attack evil carbon dioxide or is this yet another example of vested interests triumphing over the real needs of society?
In our 2010 book Science Was Wrong we explored the frontiers of science, such as psychic phenomena and extraterrestrial visitation. A small group of vocal arch skeptics claims one hundred years of research has failed to produce convincing evidence for psi phenomena. Parapsychologists disagree, arguing that hundreds of scientific studies have produced evidence that some psi phenomena are real. Each group accuses the other of confirmation bias. But what is the truth? Do parapsychologists selectively report evidence that supports psi phenomena? Or do arch skeptics automatically reject statistically significant experimental replications?

Christopher Dunn's Pursuit of Ancient Precision - Atlantis Rising Magazine
Visit Atlantis Rising Research Group at https://www.atlantisrising.com/
Christopher Dunn is well known to the readers of Atlantis Rising. His many investigations of the fantastic technologies of the ancients have been among our most popular features and constituted a major part of our bestselling book Forbidden History (Inner Traditions/Bear, 2005). Now Dunn has produced a new book focussing on the extraordinary technical achievements of the ancient Egyptians. What follows is from the foreword by professional engineer Arlan Andrews.—Editor
What researcher Christopher Dunn has accomplished in his new book Lost Technologies of Ancient Egypt (Inner Traditions/Bear, 2010) and in his previous work, The Giza Power Plant, is more than a paradigm shift; it is more of a paradigm seismic event. Because once a person with a manufacturing or machining background—engineer, technician, machinist, artisan—reads and understands what Dunn has discovered and analyzed in ancient Egyptian stonework, that person will never look at ancient Egyptians the same way ever again. That reader will become skeptical of portrayals of ancient Egyptians as primitives in any sense. That reader will begin to analyze every new Egyptian archaeological discovery, to see what else conventional Egyptologists have overlooked. That reader will become part of the new paradigm.
In these pages, Chris Dunn demonstrates an underlying system of incredible precision in the machining, layout, and positioning of both individual objects and groups of features, ranging from the toolmark details in the “Rose Red Rosetta Stone of Abu Roash” to the symmetries of the giant heads of Ramses at the temples in Luxor, to the layout of the column capitals of the Great Hypostyle Hall at Denderah, to the base of the Great Pyramid itself. Thanks to this work, the modern reader sits back in awe and admiration of the Egyptian geniuses of five thousand years ago. The ancient artifacts contain amazing messages, but the stones cannot speak for themselves. This book speaks for them.
In November 2008, I accompanied Mr. Dunn and others to what some have called “the Lost Pyramid” at Abu Roash, some ten kilometers northwest of Giza. I was anxious to see the rose-colored granite piece that the author had described to me years before, and was anticipating seeing the compound radial cuts and distinguishing toolmarks. I was not disappointed. To any technophile, this one cut stone challenges the arguments made for primitive tools and primitive peoples. More than any other artifact, it embodies an ancient “language” that still speaks to modern engineers. I immediately dubbed it “The Rose Red Rosetta Stone of Abu Roash.”
I called the stone a “Rosetta” because its discovery reminded me of another paradigm-changing artifact: in 1799, Napoleon’s soldiers found a curious object embedded in a wall of an Egyptian village. Their original report, “A Report on a Stone Found in the Village of Rosetta,” describes a black rock slab inscribed with three languages, one of them being ancient Greek, the others the unknown Egyptian hieroglyphic writing and the cursive or “demotic” Egyptian writing. Reading the Greek portion, the antiquarian Champollion was able to translate the names of the Pharaohs— written within cartouches—and thence the rest of the hieroglyphic writing itself. He opened up an eventual understanding of the millions of carved figures decorating the ancient temples and tombs of the Nile. Nobody would ever again look at the hieroglyphic carvings as mere magical, mystical figures but would read the translations of experts who deciphered those cuts and reliefs, uncovering the lost history of Egypt.
The Rosetta stone thus facilitated a change in the worldview of moderns who looked back at ancient Egyptians. Nothing would ever be the same. I maintain that this book has accomplished a similar feat, every bit as meaningful to an understanding of ancient Egypt, if not more so. Once understood, Dunn’s discoveries will forever change the perception of the serious researcher.

Scent of a Dinosaur - Atlantis Rising Magazine
Visit Atlantis Rising Research Group at https://www.atlantisrising.com/
Something strange has been happening in Dino-World. Something disconcerting. It started in 2,000 on the dusty plains near Hell Creek, Montana, in a layer of earth deemed to be 65 million years old, when a large female T. rex skeleton was discovered. Ms. T. rex—or perhaps Mrs. T. rex, as she turned out to be pregnant—appeared to be another gift for the standard story of dinosaur history. But the gift unexpectedly turned out to be in a box from Pandora herself. As I described earlier (“The Strange Chaos of the Dating System,” AR #70), because the intact, 3.5-foot-long femur was so large and heavy (3000 lbs.), it had to be broken in half to be lifted out by helicopter. Some fragments of the freshly broken bone were sent to Dr. Mary Schweitzer at North Carolina State.
Mary Schweitzer was fully prepared for the opportunity. Earlier, while at Northern Montana University, she had discovered hemoglobin molecules in dinosaur bone samples, publishing a paper in 1997 on the subject. Once, curious that she had noted the distinct smell of death on a T. rex, similar to a cadaver in her lab, and given the conventional wisdom that such fossils were made up entirely of minerals, Schweitzer mentioned this anxiously to her mentor, the great dino-fossil hunter, Dr. Jack Horner. Apparently inured to the smell of death, he answered: “Oh, yeah, all Hell Creek bones smell.”
She was lucky to be at North Carolina State; the 1997 paper had not helped her career. Hemoglobin does not last 65 million years. In fact, the scientific consensus is that the longevity of protein is at maximum 100,000 years. But in 2004, in looking deeply into the T. rex sample from Horner, Mary Schweitzer now discovered soft-tissue, specifically, collagen, the kind of tissue that doesn’t last a week when placed on a shelf. More analysis found the fine structure of blood vessels, then osteocytes—the tiny cells of the bone. Another T. rex that strode the earth 68 million years ago revealed a fine network of almost-clear branching vessels, and within, as her 2005 paper in Science observed, “round microstructures,” namely and less diplomatically, blood cells. So it is not just dinosaur soft tissue but the presence of detectable proteins such as collagen, hemoglobin, osteocalcin, actin, and tubulin that must be accounted for. These are complex molecules that continually tend to break down to simpler ones. Schweitzer has even recovered fragments of the even more fragile and complex molecule, DNA (max longevity 25,000 years).
These were not the only dinosaurs revealing soft tissue. Schweitzer found this in several, including a 199.6 million-year-old specimen. But the problem is beyond Schweitzer’s pesky peering, for the list of dinosaurs discovered with soft tissue, even with remnants of skin, is long and growing. Other examples of soft tissue in fossils that are supposedly millions of years old have been found: muscle tissue in a salamander fossil that is supposed to be 18 million years old; retinal tissue in a mosasaur fossil that is supposed to be 70 million years old; and what appear to be bone cells from the same mosasaur fossil. A list can be found on http://www.theologyonline.com/forums/.... A fire was burning in Dino-World and there was plenty of material to fuel it. A 2010 National Geographic’s article titled, “Many Dino Fossils Could Have Soft Tissue Inside” reveals that the scientific community is expecting many more examples of dinosaur soft tissue in the future. These facts have been a thorn in their side for several years now as they are incredibly difficult to explain within an evolutionary (millions of years) time frame.
Thomas G. Kaye made an attempt in a 2008 paper, which was briefly hailed as the much needed fire extinguisher. His argument “Dinosaurian Soft Tissues Interpreted as Bacterial Biofilms” in the journal Plos One, was that these findings were merely “bio-film,” that is, a coating from extraneous biological organisms that had made it into the dead dinosaurs. This served briefly as the ‘go-to’ answer and dowsed the fire for about as long as it took Schweitzer to publish another paper. This one (Science, 2009), examining an 80 million-year-old Hadrosaur, demonstrated the reality of the detailed structures via mass spectrometry and molecular analysis. The bio-film theory decayed more quickly than its fossil subjects.

Living For Centuries? - Atlantis Rising Research Group
Visit Atlantis Rising Research Group at https://www.atlantisrising.com/
One of the oddest claims made in the Old Testament concerns the age of the patriarchs, the Biblical figures who lived before the Flood and, for awhile, those who lived after it. Ten are listed before the Flood, including Adam, who supposedly lived to the age of 930. His son Seth reached the age of 912, Enosh 905, Cainan 910, Mahalel 899, Jarod 962, and Enoch was said to have been taken alive to Heaven at the age of 365. Methusaleh set the record at 969, followed by Lamech who lived until the age of 770, and Noah to 950. After the Flood, lifespans became shorter, but several men were said to live over 200 years, with Shem dying at age 600. Abraham was said to have reached the age of 175, and Moses 120. It seems an odd story just to have been invented, and the decline in lifespans after the Flood is intriguing.
Similar claims are made concerning the kings in Mesopotamia listed in the ancient Sumerian Kings List, a cuneiform stone tablet. Eight kings before the Flood were said to have reigned from 18,600 years to 36,000. Note that this is just how long they supposedly reigned. If each of them succeeded an equally long-lived father, their age might be twice as long. It seems unlikely that people could live that long, even if they didn’t age at all; the odds are that someone will fall prey to accident, disease, war, or assassination long before even 18,600 years. In addition, all the figures are divisible by 60—and the ancient Mesopotamians used a number system based on 60. So the ages are probably exaggerated and rounded off. Like the post-Flood patriarchs in the Bible, the Sumerian kings after the Flood still reigned for hundreds of years, with the life spans gradually declining.
Of course, the Sumerians and their successors influenced the ancient Israelites. Abraham is claimed to have originated in Sumer, or at least lived there for a time. So it is possible that the whole thing is fictional, but, again, it seems like an odd story just to have been made up. It’s as if people had some vitality that gradually drained out of succeeding generations, especially after the Flood, or as if there were some kind of energy present in prehistoric times that gave people greater health and vitality.
Claims of long-lived individuals are present in other cultures but nothing quite like the accounts of these patriarchs and kings. The Hindus, the Buddhists, and the followers of the Falun Gong cult all have legends of saints whose mystical practices and exercises allowed them to live for centuries, as did the Persians and the Romans. Legendary ancient Vietnamese kings were said to have lived for up to 692 years. In India, there was supposedly at one time an elixir called “amrita” that would prevent aging, and the Greek gods were said to owe their immortality to eating ambrosia and drinking a magical nectar. And Adam and Eve had eaten of the Tree of Life in the Garden.
Many cultures have legends of one or more past golden ages. Could there really have been a time when many people lived for centuries? If so, what gave them their vitality? Could there have been some energy present that is now either lacking or not being directed properly? Most ancient cultures believed in a mysterious vital energy that (in at least some traditions) was the ground of all being and that affected, and was affected by, human consciousness. It has been called chi, ki, qui, prana, kundalini, odic force, vril, etheric force, and orgone. Note that such an energy, filling all of space, bears a strong resemblance to the nineteenth-century concept of a “luminiferous ether,” a mysterious substance that carried the vibrations of light just as ordinary matter carries the vibrations of sound. The famous Michaelson-Morley experiment failed to find evidence of a static luminiferous ether, but a dynamic ether would have been nearly impossible to detect. Einstein’s relativity theory requires a “space-time continuum” that can bend; in later life Einstein himself admitted that his theory required a kind of ether; he just gave it a different name. So this energy may be real. Is it possible that in ancient, even prehistoric times, people knew of this energy and how to control it? Could there have been technologies based on this energy, technologies so different from our own that we cannot even recognize the machines left over from that time (like the pyramids)?

Invisible Warfare - can greater-than-human conflict overflow onto the human plane?
Visit Atlantis Rising Research Group at https://www.atlantisrising.com/
Can greater-than-human conflict overflow onto the human plane? Nineteenth century founder of the Theosophical Society Madame Helena P. Blavatsky was so bold as to assert such a thing in the ‘scientific’ age, whereas the ancients seem to have known it well. But could extraterrestrial warfare also engage on the nuclear level?
The post-war period has gradually brought to light numerous astounding technologies in possession of the Nazis during World War II—so advanced and unconventional that it is suspected by many that the Germans had access to extraterrestrial intelligence. No equivalent ‘Haunabu’ or ‘foo fighter’ technology has ever been uncovered to show that the Allies also possessed such exotic war machines, so the assumption has been that no such influence was aiding the Allied forces of WWII, who tasted victory nevertheless. Yet from the very beginning, at least one dissenting voice has alleged that the Allies also benefited from super-human aid in their battle against the colossus of Hitler’s Germany.
All through the war, the Tibetan master Djwal Khul (also called D.K.) was reported to communicate telepathically with Alice Bailey, a prominent twentieth century theosophist and founder of the Lucis Trust organization, keeping her apprised, often monthly, of the progress of the war as he saw it from his more exalted level. Djwal Khul had also been identified by Madame Blavatsky as a member of what she described as the “planetary hierarchy,” a higher-than-human organization operating in nonphysical dimensions. In WWII, this spiritual hierarchy, according to D.K., supported the Allied effort (other Tibetan mystics are alleged to have backed Germany). In our era of rapidly changing perceptions about our past, perhaps we ought to take a closer look at Khul’s statements about the Second World War, as related in Bailey’s book, The Externalization of the Hierarchy.
According to Bailey, the war really began in 1914, when the Germans suffered a bitter defeat. However, it was only in 1939 when the proper mix of belligerency together with the “immanence of the release of (atomic) energy” produced a climate where interested ETs saw an opportunity to reactivate the war. Khul communicated to Bailey late in the war that while initially a “high degree of tension” essential to their collaboration held the extraterrestrial forces and the Nazi leadership together, the latter collapsed as “war fatigue” led to “a steady deterioration of their minds, and then of their brains and nervous system.”
Perhaps for this reason, Hitler did not realize the intense interest his extraterrestrial sponsors had in developing atomic energy when he sacrificed the nuclear program in favor of the immediate rewards of rocketry. The above-human adversaries on both sides, according to Khul, were aware that a release of atomic energy would soon occur on the human plane, and each was keen to have the human capability to produce it under its control.
Scientists in the field were steadily working in this direction. Leo Szilard, a Hungarian physicist, on a visit to Princeton, learned in January 1939 from Niels Bohr that physicists in Germany had a month earlier “fissioned” the uranium atom. Szilard quickly recognized the potential of uranium as a weapon and sought initially to prevent his colleagues from publishing papers that would make this evident. However, German nuclear research had already moved into the military. In July 1939, Szilard and Einstein sent letters to President Roosevelt; Einstein urged a Uranium Committee be set up. At its first meeting in October 1939, under the urging of Szilard, the U.S. army made a modest grant of $6,000 for a nuclear reactor Szilard and Enrico Fermi hoped to construct. The critical grant money failed to arrive because Szilard and Fermi, refugees from Germany and Fascist Italy, had been denied security clearance as “enemy aliens.” After Einstein vouched for them, the money arrived in November 1939. Had Szilard and Fermi not been able to pursue their work on the nuclear reactor, a chain reaction would not have been achieved by December 1942, making a viable bomb by 1945 doubtful.
