A schoolteacher from Bihar’s Banka district now counts Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and industrialist Anand Mahindra among her fans. A video of her “unique” method of teaching multiplication to her students has gone viral with more than 15,000 retweets and over 55,000 likes from Twitter users. The extraordinary teaching skills of Ruby Kumari of Baunsi Middle School in Banka drew nationwide attention. In the video, she is shown demonstrating to her students how to do the multiplication of 9X4 using a simple method to calculate using fingers. To multiply 9X4, she shows, hold the fourth finger on the left hand and count the digits to its left, which gives 3, and then count the digits after the fourth finger, which gives 6, joining both gives the result 36. In the video students are seen enjoying doing the multiplication shortcut.
