Driving a camping car in Japan has really shown us a surprising side of the country. Being able to get out of Japan's cities and into the rural local areas was a shocking discovery for us as tourists. We really saw a side of Japan that is almost identical to central Portugal where we used to live! We had no idea Japan looked like this. Of course there are still notable differences, but we are so glad that we got to see parts of the country that most tourists never see or show in their vlogs. Our 6 year old daughter was a bit disappointed with the Studio Ghibli grand warehouse experience. The queues were massive and she even said there was no point in visiting some of the rooms because you couldn't interact with them. But overall we did have a good time and we think it will be best to return when the whole park is properly open with the new outdoor exhibits next year. We went to Korankei Gorge (香嵐渓, Kōrankei) which is a valley near Nagoya reputed to be one of the best spots for autumn colors in the Chubu Region! Unfortunately we arrived a few weeks too early :-( But the upside is that we got to see this incredible area without the crowds. As a British family travelling Japan for the first time, we are very impressed with the country and it's beauty. We will definitely return again in the future.
