Who doesn't love watching the rain?

If there is one thing about setting up a little base camp for the weekend or even a little longer, I've found that it can be a real challenge to keep your kitchen mess organized. Plus, putting everything away and secure is made much simpler with the use of a chuck box. There are a ton of ways to go about this and the possibilities of design for your own chuck box are endless!

Results: sure it worked, but more of the mantle was burned than usual, up near the string that holds it on. I probably would just burn the mantles in like normal and not change anything, I don't believe it is worth it, I guess the idea being you save about 60 seconds. Always fun messing around with Coleman Lanterns though, I'm sure many of you know what I'm talking about, or maybe you don't yet and have stumbled onto this video.

I've been using the percolator to make coffee everyday for a little while now, and I definitely enjoy using it, as well as the taste of the coffee it makes. I've made cowboy coffee, regular drip coffee, a French press, you name it. I like them all. As far as making a big pot of coffee, I think this is my go to. and I think this will be coming with me on camping trips.

This is a pretty simple repair you can do to your Coleman stoves or lanterns, especially if on older models which are found in relative abundance in the secondhand marketplace. I get my parts from Old Coleman Parts, an online store that is based out of Washington State. These cap gaskets were $1.25 a piece when I purchased them, with free shipping. I would highly recommend Old Coleman Parts.

Prusik loops on your ridgeline are a huge convenience when setting up. They also have many uses beyond shelter building, and it is a great knot-tying skill to learn. Thanks for stopping by and check back in for more!
