Doom 2 (GZDoom) Modding - Actor Basics (Script and Decorate)
Basic overview of actors in GZDoom. How to replace, inherit and create new ones. Very basic. Actors being; enemies, weapons, pickups and world objects. Pretty much everything.
If you don't know how to set up a pk3 or zscript, check this video (or a better one:
Just some samples on how to get started. With these you should be able to start copy-pasting variables from other actors or the wiki and buildup your own things.
May make future videos on what individual variables do, but there's a lot. It's best just to play around yourself and see what can be done. That's game modding...
The first half of the video is probably useless but may help people who are just starting out. Will also do a very brief write up on Substack when I get time... [link here]

Supreme Commander FA Modding - Coding Rotator Animations
This was briefly covered in my 3D modelling video (https://youtu.be/dZyEMWtGAiI) but it was meant as a quick demo of what's possible, not how to do it. This expands on it with a little more details. I tried to keep it simple so even non-programmers can follow along.
Here I've created a unit with different animations which wouldn't work with a simple anim file. It's a flying unit with blades that rotate at different speeds based on height and engines which rotate to simulate forward thrust. I tried doing left and right animations but couldn't figure it out.
All animations are coded in LUA. No animation files are used. I'm using 3DS Max r9 from 2006, not Blender.

Starfield is all shot-haired LESBIANS!
It's called social engineering.
Bethesda, possibly the laziest and worst game studio currently active, are brainwashing you with the idea that all girls are short-haired lesbians. They weren't, they aren't, they won't be hundreds of years in the future.

Command & Conquer Generals Modding - Music and Audio (a little)
I know very little about audio but I don't have an audio video. This is as much as I know.
Music is MP3. Effects and voices are 16-bit, 44.1kHz, WAV. Mostly stereo but world effects must be mono or they won't be audible. I guess this is because mono needs to pan left to right based on position on the map and it was easier to do with mono in 2003?

My Shitty Game Server - Why...
...I bought a shitty game server because I wanted something better than a Pi. Which can barely run any game servers. It's not meant to.
I know this isn't a server, it's an old Dell workstation. For the hardware specs, it was a bargain compared to the Pi. Obviously uses more power and isn't as portable but it's to be used as a server. Don't need portability. i wanted something equal in price to the current gen Pi 4 8GB, which left a little money for upgrades. I also bought a CPU for future upgrades but that would put it far outside the cost of a Pi so it's not in... yet.
There's some assumption here that you know how to do things like install Java. You go to the download page, download it and run the installer. It's even easier than on a Pi.
History:
The Pi sucks. It's OK for a budget machine but I kept seeing people trying to run game servers on it. Why? That's not what it's built for. Buy a (literal) 10 year old ex-workstation on eBay and you can run so many more servers. Who cares if it doesn't fit in your pocket, lift a weight.
It came with Windows 10 on a mechanical hard drive but I'm using Windows 7 on the new SSD. The idea being that these game servers are so old, most will struggle to run on Windows 10. Plus 10 uses way more resources than 7 and this is a server, we want as much power as we can. Maybe. The mechanical hard drive seems to have had a hard life too, it's not as fast as it once was.
The client is running from Windows 10 on my main i7 machine. It's 7 years old but better than what most people are running today. It plays any game in 4k without complaining.

My Shitty Game Server - World of Warcraft (emulated, performance only)
I was curious what kind of resources an emulated WoW server would use and thought I'd make a video.
The problem is I can't detail the setup instructions for downloading or creating the server. Blizzard don't like people doing this and I sympathise to some extent. Every server is a large chunk of money out of Blizzards pockets. But what are you paying for? Any other game you can play after paying for it, but with WoW you have to keep paying or you lose everything.
Let's not forget Blizzard are an anti-white company. So who cares what they want. More importantly, the more people that know how to set up a server the quicker resources disappear from the Internet. Downloads and setups are easy to find. Look harder.

My Shitty Game Server - Hyper-V (for old games)
Part of the 'My Shitty Game Server' series.
Really old games and server struggle to install or even run on Windows 10. Said games come from an era of personal responsibility when people bought games even if they had little to no copyright protection. This has worked out great as it means we can install a games on a virtual machine then copy it over to Windows and you "should" be able to run it in Windows 10.
I prefer Hyper-V as it comes built-in to Windows. Other programs are available but this works, is the easiest to configure and performs well.
Putting this all in 1 video instead of explaining it every time it comes up.

My Shitty Game Server - Minecraft (again!)
My Shitty Game Server - Minecraft (again!)
Can My Shitty Game Server run a Minecraft dedicated server? At least as good as the Pi... Yes. Easily. You don't even need to watch the video.
Nothing too shocking. Mimics what was seen on the Pi. Felt a lot smoother on the PC, especially with the official bedrock server which can't be run on the Pi. The official bedrock server also doesn't work on Windows 7. So I had to switch to Windows 10 on the mechanical drive. Which worked fine.
See my other videos on Pi servers for more details on setting up a Java edition server.

Command & Conquer Generals - Variables and game.dat
Likely the last of the last of the last Generals videos. Wanted to finish with a way to find things others may have missed. Hex reading won't work in most games as they're encrypted. Unless you can crack the encryption. There's usually a little fun we can have with these old games.
The easiest way to find something in the INI files is to folder load them in to something like Notepad++ and perform a search through all files. However that only reveals features which the game uses. There may be removed features or old design that aren't in the INI files. For those, we can try to dig through data files with a hex editor.

Command & Conquer Generals - OverlordContain
OverlordContain. Finally. The last video for a while.
It's a very simple, but in order to explain it you need to know how to attach sub-objects to a parent unit using OCL upgrades. It can become messy and is hard for me to explain if I don't know what people are trying to make. Hoping this makes some sense.
I can't really break down the video anymore. I tried. Failed. Wanted to at least upload something. All you really need to know is at the start of the video:
- Use OverlordContain if passengers are in an attached object
- Use TransportContain is passengers are in the base unit
- Can't have passengers in base unit and attached object

There are lots of contain methods, this one is GarrisonContain.
I'll try to get through the rest but there's a lot! May just cover the tough ones? Garrison is one of the easiest and a good place to start. The only confusion may come from enclosed (bunker) units versus exposed (fire base). I'll put them in their own playlist if I ever get around to making more.

All videos in this series are for Forged Alliance. Supreme Commander isn't much different, but the Seraphim were obviously only in FA.
Covering 3D model exports, imports and the animation system. There are importers/exporters for both 3DS Max and Blender. Each has issues. Max has issues importing animations. Blender has occasional issues importing standard meshes. If we combine the applications we get something usable!
SC does not support mesh deformations so we can't have realistic infantry. There's also no system for moving wheels, the game uses scrolling textures for wheels. We could make moving wheels with the scripting system which is also briefly covered.
Do not use assets at the same time, they all have the same GUID and will overwrite each other.

Supreme Commander FA Modding - Unit Textures
All videos in this series are for Forged Alliance. Supreme Commander isn't much different, but the Seraphim were obviously only in FA.
Unit textures aren't as simply as some more popular strategy games but they're easy enough once you understand the layers. Apart from the tangent space map which doesn't make any sense in-game.
Covering albedo, normalsTS and specteam. I don't think transparent textures on units are possible. Animated textures for treads also covered.
Do not use assets at the same time, they all have the same GUID and will overwrite each other.

Terraria - Pi4 - Dedicated Server Setup and Performance
Installing and running a Terraria dedicated server on a Raspberry Pi. Skip to the bottom for resources.
My Equipment / Prerequisites:
=============================
- Pi Model 4
-- With 64GB class 10 SD card (U1)
-- Using ethernet.
-- I have the 4GB version
- I have a small fan on my Pi 4 which I took off my old Pi 3. There's no mount so I just taped it on. it doesn't make a big difference to core temp, but it's better than nothing.
- Raspbian Buster with desktop (10/07/2019)
- Desktop PC
-- i7-5820K, 16GB DDR4, NVIDIA 1060 6GB, mechanical drives.
-- For installing Terraria and testing server.
- Copy of Windward
-- To join the server once running.

How To: Recovering Deleted Disk Volumes in Windows (trying to)
This is a how to on recovering a deleted volume from a hard disk. It could work or you could lose all your data. Well not lose, but it'll be even harder to get back. The process depends on how the volume was initially deleted. 99% of the time it will be an accident in disk management or diskpart. It happens.
The first part of this video is setting up a virtual hard drive containing a couple of files on a deleted volume.
03:25
...the recovery process starts. There's not much to it.
I don't have any spare drives so this was verified on a virtual hard drive. I show how to set this up at the start of the video in case you haven't actually deleted a volume and are watching just to learn the process.
As also noted in the video, partitions and volumes are different. If you have a deleted partition, you're likely need something a bit more powerful to access/recover the files.
