John Woodard spent 50 years in the Independent Insurance Claims business working for a variety of Adjusting Companies who provided personnel to Insurance Carriers who were faced with a sudden overload of claims. He started in this field right out of active duty military service. Over the years he relocated his family, through promotional opportunities, eventually leading to an Executive level position with a National Firm. When Hurricane Andrew struck South Florida, John seized upon the opportunity to start his own business and spent 6 months in Miami. While there, he developed a reputation for providing quality completion of the claims that were assigned to him. Therefore, as the word spread, his services were requested by various insurance companies which required travel all over the country. After several years, he decided to get off the road and start his own company in his home town of Norfolk, Va. This experience proved to be very lucrative and along the way he became President of the Hampton Roads Claims Associate for 2 terms of 1 year each. He closed his business and retired after Hurricane Floyd and relocated to NE North Carolina where he became very active in Republican Politics.
