World of Hamsters

Hamsters sleep for most of the day and night. They are nocturnal animals, meaning they are active at night and sleep during the day. This is because they come from a different natural environment and are usually active at night when they are looking for food and doing other activities. When sleeping, hamsters will usually hide in their nests, which can be piles of wood fiber, sawdust, or other materials they use to make their beds. They may also sleep elsewhere in their cage, such as in their sleeping ball or in a small house. Hamsters sleep for a long time, usually between 12 and 14 hours a day. However, they sleep in short intervals and wake frequently. This is known as cyclical sleep, meaning that they sleep for a few minutes, then wake up to look around them and then go back to sleep again. As with humans, adequate sleep is important for hamster health and well-being. Their cage should provide a comfortable place for them to sleep and rest safely.
