The Mind Body Connection
4 FollowersOn this channel I discuss mind-body syndrome/TMS/PPD. But what is mind-body syndrome? Did you know that your brain produces and signals all the pain that we feel and that the physical body is only the receiver of the final sensation of that pain output. The brain determines how much output to give and for how long. It determines if pain should be sharp, or dull, or stabbing. It is our brains that determine how we perceive pain. The problem is, these signals from the brain are often exaggerated and the brain gets things wrong, it can perceive danger when there is none and it can become conditioned to sending false signals. This pain is called physcophyisiological pain (PPD) Lucky for us, when we are armed with this knowledge we can start to take a top down approach to pain. As we learn to work with our mind and body we begin to change how we experience pain, as we find new ways to feel better, without the need for drugs, surgeries, physical therapies, gizmos or gadgets.
