Why I Eat Cheese Every Day
Dr. Eric BergFind out why I eat cheese every day and why you should too! 0:00 Introduction: Why I eat cheese every day 0:20 Goat and sheep cheese 1:23 Nutritional benefits of cheese 2:30 Goat cheese and sheep cheese effects on mitochondria 4:07 Other ways to stimulate mitochondrial uncoupling In this video, we’re going to talk about the health benefits of cheese and the best cheese to eat. Cheese is a great protein source, has probiotic properties, and is low in lactose. The best cheeses are goat cheese and sheep cheese. These cheeses contain A2 casein, which is easier on your digestive system than lactose. Surprisingly, the oldest people in the world consume sheep cheese and goat cheese! Cow's milk is around 4% lactose, while cottage cheese and mozzarella cheese vary from 1% to 4% lactose. Goat cheese and sheep cheese are only about .5% lactose. Goat and sheep cheese are higher in protein, vitamin A, vitamin E, folic acid, B vitamins, calcium, and CLA than cow's milk cheese. CLA helps with exercise performance and weight loss. Around 20% to 30% of the fat in sheep and goat cheese is MCT fat, which is converted directly into ketones. Sheep cheese and goat cheese generate quick energy with little stress on your digestion. Cheese from animals who graze at higher altitudes is higher in polyphenols. When you introduce these polyphenols to your mitochondria, it triggers an uncoupling effect. This means it generates extra energy, which is effective if you’re trying to lose weight. Polyphenols also stimulate mitochondrial biogenesis. Research has shown that people who live longest have more mitochondria uncoupling. Other ways to stimulate mitochondrial uncoupling include exercise, cold therapy, fasting, and consuming other polyphenols like sulforaphane, turmeric, and green tea. The Risks of Taking 10,000 IUs of Vitamin D3
Dr. Eric BergIs it dangerous to take high amounts of vitamin D3? Here is what you should know. Check out Dr. Berg's D3 & K2 Vitamin Here: 🛒https://drbrg.co/3Nx1Shr OR https://amzn.to/3PW340X DATA: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2665033/ 0:00 Introduction: Is it bad to take a lot of vitamin D? 0:10 What does “IU” stand for? 0:38 Are high amounts of vitamin D3 dangerous? 1:50 How much vitamin D you need and why 7:57 What is considered a toxic amount of vitamin D? 9:42 Learn more about vitamin D toxicity! Are there risks of taking 10,000 IU of vitamin D3? In my opinion, there is a bigger risk of not taking “high” amounts of vitamin D3. IU is the abbreviation for international units. 10,000 IU of vitamin D3 is equivalent to under one milligram. The RDAs for vitamin D are between 600 to 800 IU. But, the great majority of people are deficient in vitamin D. The current RDAs for vitamin D are outdated and are based on old research related to preventing bone loss. Every cell in the body has receptors for vitamin D, and the functions of vitamin D are vast. Vitamin D isn’t even really a vitamin. It’s a hormone. It acts very similarly to cortisol (another hormone) as an anti-inflammatory but without side effects. In my opinion, a person really needs 10,000 IU of vitamin D3 as a maintenance dose. This has to do with there being a lot of different things that stop vitamin D from going into your body. Another thing we need to look at when it comes to vitamin D is a person’s genes. I recently had 21 different individuals’ DNA tested, and 100 percent of them had at least one genetic problem with vitamin D absorption. I believe that 10,000 IU of vitamin D3 is not toxic and is needed to penetrate some of the big barriers that keep people from getting enough vitamin D3. The amount of vitamin D that could cause a toxic effect is still being debated. But, according to the research I’ve found, it would take hundreds of thousands of international units for months to create vitamin D toxicity. However, as a precaution, be sure to consume plenty of water (2.5 liters a day), take other nutrients that support vitamin D absorption, and take nutrients that protect you against hypercalcemia (the main potential toxic effect). The TRUTH About Osteoporosis and Osteopenia
Dr. Eric BergCalcium is not the most important nutrient for osteoporosis! Find out what nutrients you should be focusing on. DATA: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/14654717/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26176325/ https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28756183/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7238900/ 0:00 Introduction: The truth about osteoporosis and osteopenia 0:22 What is osteoporosis? 0:33 Bones explained 1:43 What is osteopenia? 2:09 Typical treatments for osteoporosis 2:22 Understanding calcification 3:10 What is osteomalacia? 3:25 What causes osteoporosis and osteopenia? 3:39 Key nutrients for osteoporosis and osteopenia 6:10 The gallbladder and liver connection 6:50 The best minerals for osteoporosis 11:35 Learn more about vitamin K2! Let’s talk about osteoporosis and osteopenia. There is no way you can build up your bone with just calcium. If you try, you could end up with calcification of your arteries. Osteoporosis is a loss of bone density and bone mass. This increases your risk of fractures. Osteopenia is the stage that occurs just before osteoporosis. It’s been found that people with osteoporosis have a much higher degree of calcification in the arteries and joints. This means a person has excess calcium, but it’s not going to the right places in the body. When dealing with osteoporosis and osteopenia, we can’t just look at a loss of calcium. We also need to consider vitamin K2 deficiency and vitamin D3 deficiency. Vitamin D3 supports calcium absorption, and vitamin K2 helps drive calcium into the bones. If you take vitamin K2 as a supplement, it may be best to take the natural form called MK7. Vitamin A (retinol) is another important vitamin to support healthy bones. These essential vitamins for osteoporosis are all fat-soluble, which means supporting your gallbladder and liver is crucial. Bile salts can help support the absorption of fat-soluble nutrients if you have a gallbladder or liver problem. It’s also essential to have strong acid in the stomach to absorb minerals and trace minerals. I would still take some form of calcium if I had osteoporosis. But I would also take these other nutrients. I would also avoid calcium carbonate, which is less bioavailable than other forms. Try to get your calcium and other nutrients from food. Other important minerals and trace minerals for strong bones: • Magnesium • Potassium • Zinc • Copper • Boron Be sure you’re also consuming high-quality sources of protein and are exercising consistently to help with osteoporosis and osteopenia. The Truth About Sugar - What They Don't Want You To Know!
Dr. Eric BergThese little-known facts about sugar will change the way you think about it. Check this out! DATA: https://arphysmed.com/2017/10/the-amazing-similarities-between-this-toxic-sugar-and-alcohol/ 0:00 Introduction: The truth about sugar 0:10 Sugar facts 9:35 Learn more about healthy sugar alternatives! Today I want to cover several interesting facts about sugar that you may have never heard before. Interesting facts about sugar: 1. It’s not just the amount of carbohydrates that matters. It’s also the quality of the carbs. You have to consume less than 50 grams of net carbs per day to get into ketosis. But, there is a big difference between consuming 50 grams of sugar carbs vs. 50 grams of carbs in general. For example, 50 grams of carbohydrates from sugar would be equivalent to a twelve-ounce orange soda. But 50 grams of net carbs from vegetables is equivalent to about 42 cups of salad. 2. The liver treats fructose like alcohol. Most types of sugar are really fifty percent glucose and fifty percent fructose. When you check your blood sugar, you’re really only looking at the glucose. Fructose doesn’t affect the blood sugar by that much. Instead, it affects the liver. Even though fructose doesn’t raise your blood sugar levels, it can create other serious issues. These issues can include a fatty liver, high triglycerides, high cholesterol, free radical damage, inflammation, insulin resistance, and diabetes. 3. Just because it’s from beets doesn’t mean it’s healthy. Most of the sugar used in the US is from beets and is genetically modified, so there are traces of glyphosate. There is an in-depth process to produce beet sugar, and the end product is refined and overly processed. 4. The chemistry of glucose is similar to vitamin C. This means that glucose and vitamin C are competitive to a certain degree. If you consume sugar, your body won’t absorb vitamin C. Today I want to cover the best foods for kidney disease. The top causes of kidney problems are diabetes, insulin resistance, and high-sugar, high-carb diets. Consuming a low-carb diet, like the Healthy Keto® diet, and doing intermittent fasting are two of the best things you can do to help prevent kidney disease. But, if you have stage 3A through stage 5 kidney disease, you may want to consider making some adjustments to your keto plan. If you have a kidney problem, it’s important to work with your doctor to make sure certain nutrients aren’t out of range. These nutrients include potassium, sodium, and phosphorus. Protein levels can also become too high if someone has a kidney problem. The best diet tips for kidney disease: • Consume lower amounts of high-quality protein (pasture-raised organic eggs, wild-caught fish, seafood, and grass-fed, grass-finished beef) • Consume lower amounts of sodium (2,300 mg of sodium per day) • Avoid processed foods and junk foods • Avoid high-potassium foods and consume low-potassium foods • Avoid soda • Avoid foods high in phosphorus • Take the natural form of certain vitamins (B vitamins, vitamin C, and vitamin D3) • Get plenty of omega-3 fatty acids (take cod liver oil) Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 58, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Let’s talk about how to reduce stress using ashwagandha. Ashwagandha is an herb that has been around for a very long time and has minimal side effects. Potential benefits of ashwagandha: • It’s an incredible adaptogen (it helps you cope with stress and depression) • It may help increase exercise performance • It may help decrease cortisol • It may help reduce fibroids • It has anti-inflammatory properties • It may help improve the immune system • It supports cognitive function • It may help lower blood sugar levels It seems like natural alternatives are always attacked. Recently, there has been some fear around ashwagandha because, like other natural remedies, it’s not FDA-approved. The committees that approve drugs have a lot of conflicts of interest. Many medications that are FDA-approved have a massive number of side effects, but people take them without hesitation. You may find it beneficial to try ashwagandha and come off of it for a while to see how you feel. Ashwagandha is powerful for stress, but you may not need it after you change your lifestyle and get rid of stress. Natural remedies are great tools but aren’t meant to be taken for the rest of your life. However, this system is meant to deal with short-term physical stress, not the chronic mental stress many people undergo now. Trauma, chronic stress, or even surgery can lead to adrenal dysfunction. Adrenal dysfunction is also known as adrenal fatigue, adrenal burnout, or adrenal stress. Top symptoms of adrenal fatigue or the adrenal body type: • Low-stress tolerance • Overthinking (especially at night) • High blood sugar • High cholesterol • Fat in the liver and visceral organs • Gastritis • High blood pressure • High pulse rate • Asthma • Inflammation • Calcium deficiency • Potassium deficiency • Sodium deficiency • Vitamin D deficiency • Memory loss • Brain fog • Getting out of breath while climbing stairs • Salt cravings The best nutrients for adrenal burnout: • Vitamin C (sauerkraut, bell peppers, leafy green vegetables, lemons, limes, and berries) • Potassium (large salads) • Sodium (sea salt) • Vitamin B1 (unfortified nutritional yeast) How to fix adrenal fatigue: 1.
