Skillet - All That Matters
SIGOPS“All That Matters is a song that explores core values and the importance of faith, family, and freedom in a world often characterized by nihilism and materialism. The song tackles the prevalence of nihilism and a perceived lack of faith and values in society—particularly among younger generations. The lyrics center around "My faith, my family, my freedom's all that matters to me." This song represents rebellion against a culture that promotes nothingness and materialism, emphasizing the importance of faith, family, and freedom. I was sick of all the anger, insanity, and violence in the world—people are constantly looking for something to hate online and yell about. Everyone doesn’t have to agree, but how do we reclaim being in a community, loving our neighbors, and tolerating opposing viewpoints as friends? I was thinking, ‘How do we remind ourselves what matters most?’ I had to say something about it. The song encourages listeners to stand firm in their beliefs and not compromise on core values—even when facing societal pressures." - Kevin Davis NRT Lyrics: [Verse 1] I don't wanna start a fight I always try to do what's right So put your weapons down, we can work it out Don't get me wrong I ain't no pacifist For peace, gotta pay a price And I'll defend what is mine Fight for what I love, help me, God above All it takes is one To rise up and resist [Pre-Chorus] Cost you everything when you're at war These three things I'd die for [Chorus] My faith, my family, my freedom That's what's backin' me Gives me a reason for living I gotta fight for what I believe in, believe it Love loyalty, I pledge fidelity In this land of liberty, it's everything My faith, my family, my freedom's all that matters to me [Verse 2] A kid arrested in the town He read the verses too loud But burn the cities down, celebs will bail you out Where'd we go wrong? I can't make sense of this So just leave the kids alone Better not break into this home 'Cause where I come from We always stand as one Where we belong We won't stand for this [Pre-Chorus] Cost you everything when you're at war These three things I'd die for [Chorus] My faith, my family, my freedom That's what's backin' me Gives me a reason for living I gotta fight for what I believe in, believe it Love loyalty, I pledge fidelity In this land of liberty, it's everything My faith, my family, my freedom's all that matters to me, oh-oh-oh To me, oh-oh-oh [Guitar Solo] [Bridge] When darkness divides us I believe that love can conquer all Courageous, united We stand or fall My faith, my family, my freedom [Chorus] My faith, my family, my freedom That's what's backin' me Gives me a reason for living I gotta fight for what I believe in, believe it Love loyalty,I pledge fidelity In this land of liberty, it's everything My faith, my family, my freedom's all that matters to me (It's all that matters to me) Oh-oh-oh To me (It's all that matters to me) Oh-oh-oh It's all that matters to me109 views 2 comments -

Lyrics: [Verse 1: Mark Hall] Why You ever chose me Has always been a mystery All my life, I've been told I belong At the end of a line With all the other Not-Quites With all the Never-Get-It-Rights But it turns out they are the ones You were looking for All this time [Chorus: Mark Hall & Matthew West] 'Cause I'm just a nobody trying to tell everybody All about Somebody who saved my soul Ever since You rescued me, You gave my heart a song to sing I'm living for the world to see nobody but Jesus I'm living for the world to see nobody but Jesus [Verse 2: Matthew West] Moses had stage fright And David brought a rock to a sword fight You picked twelve outsiders nobody would've chosen And You changed the world Well, the moral of the story is Everybody's got a purpose So when I hear that devil start talking to me, saying "Who do you think you are?" I say [Chorus: Mark Hall & Matthew West] I'm just a nobody trying to tell everybody All about Somebody who saved my soul Ever since You rescued me, You gave my heart a song to sing I'm living for the world to see nobody but Jesus I'm living for the world to see nobody but Jesus [Bridge: [Megan Garrett?] & Mark Hall] So let me go down, down, down in history As another blood-bought faithful member of the family And if they all forget my name, well, that's fine with me I'm living for the world to see nobody but Jesus So let me go down, down, down in history (Go down in history) As another blood-bought faithful member of the family (It's all I ever wanna be) And if they all forget my name, well, that's fine with me I'm living for the world to see nobody but Jesus, yeah! [Chorus: Mark Hall & Matthew West] I'm just a nobody (Nobody) Trying to tell everybody All about Somebody Who saved my soul (Oh, saved my, saved my soul) Ever since You rescued me You gave my heart a song to sing (You gave me a song to sing) I'm living for the world to see Nobody but Jesus (Nobody but You, Lord) I'm living for the world to see nobody but Jesus [Outro: Mark Hall & Matthew West] I'm living for the world to see nobody but Jesus146 views 1 comment -

"Voice of Truth" reached number one on the US Billboard Hot Christian Songs chart in 2003 and remained in the top spot for 14 weeks. It has been certified platinum by the RIAA. The song references the Biblical stories of Peter walking on the water to Jesus (Matthew 14:22-34) and David defeating Goliath (I Samuel 17). Lyrics: [Verse 1] Oh what I would do to have The kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat I'm in Onto the crashing waves To step out of my comfort zone To the realm of the unknown where Jesus is And He's holding out his hand [Pre-Chorus] But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed The waves they keep on telling me Time and time again "Boy, you'll never win! You'll never win" [Chorus] But the voice of truth tells me a different story The voice of truth says "Do not be afraid!" And the voice of truth says "This is for My glory" Out of all the voices calling out to me I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth [Verse 2] Oh what I would do to have The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant With just a sling and a stone Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors Shaking in their armor Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand [Pre-Chorus] But the giant's are calling out my name and he laughs at me Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed The giant keeps on telling me Time and time again "Boy, you'll never win! You'll never win" [Chorus] But the voice of truth tells me a different story The voice of truth says "Do not be afraid!" And the voice of truth says "This is for My glory" Out of all the voices calling out to me I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth [Bridge] But the stone was just the right size To put the giant on the ground And the waves they don't seem so high From on top of them looking down I will soar with the wings of eagles When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus Singing over me [Chorus] The voice of truth tells me a different story The voice of truth says "Do not be afraid!" And the voice of truth says "This is for My glory" Out of all the voices calling out to me I will choose to listen and believe I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth I will listen and believe, I will listen and believe the voice of truth I will listen and believe, 'cause Jesus you are the voice of truth And I will listen to you, you are96 views 3 comments -
The Beatles - Let It Be
SIGOPSLet It Be is the twelfth and final studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. It was released on 8 May 1970, nearly a month after the official announcement of the group's public break-up, in tandem with the documentary of the same name. Concerned about recent friction within the band, Paul McCartney had conceived the project as an attempt to reinvigorate the group by returning to simpler rock 'n' roll configurations. Its rehearsals started at Twickenham Film Studios on 2 January 1969 as part of a planned television documentary showcasing the Beatles' return to live performance. The filmed rehearsals were marked by ill feeling, leading to George Harrison's temporary departure from the group. As a condition of his return, the members reconvened at their own Apple Studio, and recruited guest keyboardist Billy Preston. Together, they performed a single public concert on the studio's rooftop on 30 January, from which three of the album's tracks were drawn. In April, the Beatles issued the lead single "Get Back", backed with "Don't Let Me Down", after which engineer Glyn Johns prepared and submitted mixes of the album, then titled Get Back, which the band rejected. As bootlegs of these mixes circulated widely among fans, the project lay in limbo, and the group moved on to the recording of Abbey Road, released that September. In January 1970, four months after John Lennon departed from the band, the remaining Beatles completed "Let It Be". Lyrics: [Verse 1] When I find myself in times of trouble Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom Let it be And in my hour of darkness She is standing right in front of me Speaking words of wisdom Let it be [Chorus] Let it be, let it be Let it be, let it be Whisper words of wisdom Let it be [Verse 2] And when the broken-hearted people Living in the world agree There will be an answer Let it be For though they may be parted There is still a chance that they will see There will be an answer Let it be [Chorus] Let it be, let it be Let it be, let it be Yeah, there will be an answer Let it be Let it be, let it be Let it be, let it be Whisper words of wisdom Let it be [Instrumental Break] [Guitar Solo] [Chorus] Let it be, let it be Let it be, yeah, let it be Whisper words of wisdom Let it be [Verse 3] And when the night is cloudy There is still a light that shines on me Shine until tomorrow Let it be I wake up to the sound of music Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom Let it be, yeah [Outro] Let it be, let it be Let it be, yeah, let it be Oh, there will be an answer Let it be Let it be, let it be Let it be, yeah, let it be Oh, there will be an answer Let it be Let it be, let it be Let it be, yeah, let it be Whisper words of wisdom Let it be206 views 1 comment -
