The First 15 Minutes of Tomb Raider: Chronicles (Dreamcast)
FFirst15Copied from MobyGames: A few days after the events described in Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Lara Croft is presumed dead. Her close friends begin to recollect her previous adventures, which occurred during different periods of her life. These include searching for the Philosopher's Stone in Rome; preventing the Spear of Destiny from falling into the hands of a ruthless gang leader; facing monsters on the Black Isle of Ireland as a child; and, finally, infiltrating a high-tech complex in pursuit of the Iris artefact. Like its predecessors, Tomb Raider: Chronicles is an action game with puzzle-solving and platforming elements. The gameplay is very similar to that of the previous games, with the addition of a few new skills. Lara can now walk on tightropes, swing on horizontal bars, and somersault forwards from a ledge while crouching. A grappling hook has been added to her inventory. The game also includes a level editor, allowing the player to create new stages for Lara to explore. -

The First 15 Minutes of Gunbird 2 (Dreamcast)
FFirst15Copied from Infogalactic: Gunbird 2 is a 2D scrolling shooter developed by Psikyo and released in Japanese arcades in 1998 by Capcom. The game was ported to the Dreamcast in 2000 and released worldwide. Seven warriors are challenged to head on a quest to find three powerful elements of Sun, Moon and Stars. Whoever brings the elements to the Potion God will be rewarded the legendary Almighty Potion and all its magical powers. Through gameplay cutscenes it appears that the zany, uproarious humor has considerably increased since the original Gunbird. The game has numerous similarities to the Parodius series, including the final boss in the game, a cartoon elephant playing a trumpet. There are seven stages in each game loop. The first three stages are randomly chosen from possible four. At the second loop, enemies fire denser bullet patterns moving at faster speeds.2 views -
The First 15 Minutes of 超鋼戦紀キカイオー (Tech Romancer, Dreamcast)
FFirst15Copied from MobyGames: Tech Romancer is a 3D arena fighter with a difference: rather than controlling a martial artist, the player selects one of the several available giant robots. These range from the absurd to the "typical" anime styled mecha to a more westernized idea of a mech. The gameplay takes part in large 3D arenas, usually dotted with buildings and other landmarks, many of which are destructible and may contain power-ups. Game controls consist of two attack buttons, one block, and one jump. Characters have a special bar; once it is full, a special move can be executed. There is an armor bar, which depletes as the characters take or block certain hits; if it runs out, the character will start taking hefty damage even when blocking. The life and time bars are self-explanatory, and there is also the special-weapon inventory, which can hold up to five special weapons at a time. The main single-player mode is a story mode, which is completely different for each character and, for most characters at least, branches many ways, often with multiple endings depending on choices made and targets met.8 views -
The First 15 Minutes of 新·三国戦紀 七星転生 (Knights of Valour: The Seven Spirits, Dreamcast)

Like all games in the series, this game features mythical versions of various generals and other figures as playable characters. Compared to previous entries, the move to new hardware allows 3D graphics for the first time; player sprites stay sprite-based, like in older entries, but stages are now presented using realtime 3D art. Each character features unique special moves and super moves. This game also features a new "rebirth" system; players build a "rebirth" meter as they take damage and, once full, they can repeatedly revive themselves for a short window of time.5 views -
The First 15 Minutes of ティンクルスタースプライツ (Twinkle Star Sprites, Dreamcast)
FFirst15Copied from MobyGames: A unique combination of vertically-scrolling shooters and competitive puzzle games, Twinkle Star Sprites tells the story of the apprentice witch Ran, who searches for the fabled Twinkle Star that is said to grant any wish to the one that finds it. Unfortunately she is not the only one seeking the star, and thus must fight her way and defeat all the other characters that seek the star in shooter duels. The game plays mostly as a vertically-scrolling shooter, with you controlling your avatar and attempting to shoot and avoid the incoming enemies. The difference in this game is that each player has his own play area, a la Puyo Puyo, and the enemies cause splash damage around themselves when shot. Thus chaining the destruction of several enemies creates a combo that performs an attack move on your opponent. These moves can range from targeted fireballs, to special moves unique to each character, to the summoning of special "boss" characters that the other player must destroy before continuing. Each player has a lifebar, and as with most shooters there are bombs, and collectible power-ups to be found.3 views -
