Beautiful Names of Allah (EP 5)- Ar-Raheem | Benefits & how to obtain it- Asma UL Husna
AR RAHEEM
(The Merciful)
AR-RAHEEM MEANING:
He who acts with extreme kindness
The name Ar-Raheem (in Arabic: ٱلْرَّحِيْمُ) comes from the same root as Ar-Rahman which refers to Allah’s attribute of being Merciful. Although similarly related the meanings are different. Ar-Rahman can be understood to refer to Allah as the origination/source of all mercy, whereas Ar-Raheem refers to its sustaining/infiniteness. Some view the name of Ar-Raheem as being merciful to His creation deserving of mercy (primarily the mercy reserved for the believers)
Arabic Root:
From the root ra-ha-mim (ر ح م), which has the following classical Arabic connotations: to have tenderness, gentleness, kindness to love to have mercy, to have pity to show favor and goodness to have all that is required for beneficence.
This name of Allah سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ is mentioned in the Qur'an for a total 114 times. Twice as much as the name Ar-Rahman.
Is Ar-Raheem for the believers?
Huwal lazee yusallee ‘alaikum wa malaaa’ikatuhoo liyukhrijakum minazzulumaati ilan-noor wa kaana bilmu’mineena Raheemaa
English Translation:
"It is He who confers blessing upon you, and His angels [ask Him to do so] that He may bring you out from darknesses into the light. And ever is He, to the believers, Merciful."— (Qur'an 33:43)
This ayah is often referenced to support the idea that Ar-Rahman is a universal mercy that applies to all His creation and that 'Ar-Raheem' is a specific kind of mercy reserved only for "al-mumin," the believers. Ibn Arabi in unveiling the secret of the most beautiful names mentions, "God indicated that this Mercy was limited and restrained, after having manifested unconditional, absolute, and universal general mercy. Also, its relation to the servant depends on his limitations." But here lies some disagreement among scholars. The counter-argument given that opposes this view is in Surah Baqarah, which directly challenges this notion:
Wa kazaalika ja’alnaakum ummatanw wasatal litakoonoo shuhadaaa’a ‘alan naasi wa yakoonar Rasoolu ‘alaikum shaheedaa; wa maa ja’alnal qiblatal latee kunta ‘alaihaaa illaa lina’lama mai yattabi’ur Rasoola mimmai yanqalibu ‘alaa ‘aqibayh; wa in kaanat lakabeeratan illaa ‘alal lazeena hadal laah; wa maa kaanal laahu liyudee’a eemaanakum; innal laaha binnaasi la Ra’oofur Raheem
Qul yaa’ibaadiyal lazeena asrafoo ‘alaaa anfusihim laa taqnatoo mirrahmatil laah; innal laaha yaghfiruz zunooba jamee’aa; innahoo Huwal Ghafoorur Raheem
English Translation:
"Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'"— (Qur'an 39:53)
Hadith which illustrates Allah's mercy:
Allah's mercy is vast, we can not begin to fathom the many ways in which He's shown us mercy. As we mentioned in the name Ar-Rahman, The Prophet ﷺ said to us, "Do you think this woman could throw her child in the fire?" We said, "No, not if she is able to stop it." The Prophet said, "Allah is more merciful to His servants than a mother is to her child." [1]
On the authority of Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): "Verily Allah has written down the good deeds and the evil deeds, and then explained it: "Whosoever intended to perform a good deed, but did not do it, then Allah writes it down as a completed good deed. And if he intended to perform it and then did perform it, then Allah writes it down as from ten good deeds up to seven hundred times, up to many times multiplied. And if he intended to perform an evil deed, but did not do it, then Allah writes it down as a complete good deed. And if he intended it [i.e., the evil deed] and then performed it, then Allah writes it down as one evil deed. [2]
Abu Huraira reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: When Allah created the creation as He was upon the Throne, He put down in His Book: Verily, My mercy predominates My wrath. [3]
The belief in Allah's mercy is beneficial to a believer because it causes an individual to reflect on their ability to be merciful themselves. Narrated Jarir bin Abdullah: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Allah will not be merciful to those who are not merciful to mankind." [4] It also encourages a believer to do good, to act with virtue so that they can receive the mercy of their Lord, "As for those who believe and do good, the Most Compassionate will certainly bless them with genuine love" (Surah Maryam ayah 96)

GET TO KNOW: Ep. 10 - Surah Al-Hujurat - Nouman Ali Khan - Quran Weekly
Honor the Messenger
Get to Know Surah Al-Hujurat – with Brother Nouman - About Islam
Reflect on the Mercy of the Most Merciful
The first part of the surah is focused on one subject, which is the amount of dignity, respect, loyalty and obedience we are supposed to show to our Messenger, peace be upon him.
We are supposed to raise our voice before him, we are not supposed to even speak before him…
One day Umar ibn Al-Khattab and Abu Bakr Al-Siddique started arguing about something, then the revelation came that you should not be raising your voice before the voice of the prophet, peace be upon him.
Allah (SWT) says:
{O you who have believed, do not put [yourselves] before Allah and His Messenger but fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.} (49:1)
An interesting contrast is made in this passage which is not found elsewhere in the Qur’an.
On the one hand it is the prophet, so when he speaks it’s revelation, so you should take it at face value and not question it, and humble yourselves before it.
But part of believing and honoring the dignity of revelation is the opposite.
And the opposite is if some corrupt new source comes to you, or somebody brings forward slander or lie or back-biting or something like that, then you need to verify it, and you need to actually question the facts. Allah (SWT) says:
{O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful.} (49:6)
So both of those go hand in hand.
On the one hand, taking all the things your messenger gives you completely and whole-heartedly without question, and at the same time to decipher between revealed knowledge and all other kinds of knowledge especially corrupt kinds of information which you have to critique and criticize.
Honor Each Other
Practical Tips on How to Balance This Life and the Next
4 Practical Tips on How to Balance This Life and the Next!
Now that your relation with the prophet, peace be upon him, has been established, and how much you are going to dignify him and honor him, then the next subject that the surah takes on is how Muslims are supposed to honor each other.
It begins with a command for Muslims not to fight one another.
In case of any conflict between believers, make reconciliation and peace between them and then an exhaustive discourse follows on how Muslims are supposed to sort things out.
There are a few things we may learn from that.
The first of them is that it is going to happen.
And the second is it shouldn’t happen.
It shouldn’t happen because your love for your prophet should be so much that you are all able to overlook what angers you towards each other. Allah (SWT) says:
{The believers are but brothers, so make settlement between your brothers. And fear Allah that you may receive mercy.} (49:10)
That reminds me of another surah in the Qur’an when Prophet Moses, peace be upon him, was very angry at his blood brother Harun, and to calm his brother down, Harun called upon the mutual love that they had for their mother by calling him (O son of my mother).
Similarly, in this case, to calm the anger down between Muslims, you call upon the love that they share in common with each other, and that is the love for their messenger, peace be upon him.
A practical example of that would be a Muslim losing his cool towards another Muslim, and you remind them to send their prayers among the Prophet, peace be upon him.
And that is like spilling water over fire. It should cool everything down.
But that is one side of physically arguing or going at each other.
The other side of it is more subtle.
Thankfulness Prostration for Engagement: Bid`ah?
Prostration - The Ultimate Position of Humility
So on the other side of this equation, within this second passage, is six instructions:
Not to make fun of each other
Don’t point out each other’s flaws
Don’t give ugly or sarcastic nicknames
Stay away from many different kinds of making assumptions, because that leads into sin
Don’t engage in spying on one another, don’t try to find out each other’s personal matters
And don’t backbite one another
All these instructions are mentioned in verses (49:11) & (49:12) …
So these ethics of communication is talked about exhaustively in this surah, which then leads to the third part, which is also about honor.
The Most Noble are the ones with Most Taqwa
Allah (SWT) says:
{O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted} (49:13)
What that means is race is gone.
Race, that makes one human being superior to another, is not an issue now.
That is not a concern.
And this is about all of humanity.
Allah SWT made you into nations and tribes that are dependent on each other so that you may get to know one another…
The most beloved to Allah are the ones who have the most taqwa, which is something in the inside, which only Allah can know…
In this last passage, the logical connection is also really beautiful.
In the beginning, you have to honor your messenger (Part 1).
What results from honoring your messenger is that you end up honoring each other (Part 2).
And when you honor each other and your messenger, that is actually the biggest manifestation of taqwa, and when you have taqwa, it is Allah who honors you…

GET TO KNOW: Ep. 9 - Surah Al-Fath - Nouman Ali Khan - Quran Weekly
Introduction
Understanding the Theme of Commands in the Quran
Understanding the Theme of Commands in the Quran
Surah Al-Fath has many implications.
Ustadh Nouman spent almost three quarters of the year trying to understand it, because it is a “heavy” surah.
What are its profound meanings?
And how does this surah relate to our understanding of the world as it stands today?
This surah has been talked about by so many different ways by so many different people, in relationship with ourselves as an Ummah, and in relationship to our outside world which is constantly being contested and challenged.
This is one of those surahs that answers some of the most fundamental questions about what Islam is, what the struggle of Islam means, what the goal of the Ummah is…
Opening and Victory
The surah itself is called Fath, which means opening and victory in the Arabic language, and it’s inspired by the first ayah:
{Indeed, We have given you, [O Muhammad], a clear conquest} (48:1)
“Fathan mubinan” is not something that is only clear, but it also clarifies.
So the victory that is being talked about in the surah will clarify things.
It will clarify what victory actually means.
And it will clarify what victory Muslims should be aspiring towards…
For Muslims, this is between the sixth and seventh year of the Prophet’s life in Madinah.
The Muslims have gone through several military engagements with the Makkans (the Quraish), and the worst of them has just happened, which is the battle of Al-Ahzab.
The Quraish were able to merge several factions of Arabia, and convince all of them that their real problem in Arabia is the Muslims in Madinah.
So let’s get together, and basically surround the people of Madinah, and attack the city of Madinah, and kill every Muslim man and child, annihilate them and take over the spoils and distribute them among ourselves.
Not only will we get rich after this, we will have solved the biggest problem in the region, Islam itself.
And the Quraish were able to use their political capital to convince multiple factions to do this as an army of ten to twelve thousands gather and march towards the city of Madinah to end the problem of Islam.
The Trench
Prophet Muhammad's Hope and Trust in Allah
Prophet Muhammad's Hope and Trust in Allah
A last minute suggestion of one of the companions of the Prophet, peace be upon him, an out-of-the-box thinker, someone who came from Persia, Salman Al-Farisi, gives a suggestion that the only thing that would hold the army off is a trench that we should dig that blocks their path to the city.
So a trench is dug.
Everybody, all the civilian population of Madinah, gets involved in digging the trench so they can’t enter from this side.
And this remarkable battle is not actually the subject of this surah, that’s the subject of Surat Al-Ahzab, which is literally called the factions, where all these factions got together and tried to annihilate the Muslims.
But this just happened. And these blood-thirsty Quraish and these tribes camped outside Madinah and tried to kill all the Muslims.
Their attempts failed, and a few weeks later they all decided it was too expensive a venture if they stayed camped out with their militaries on the road like this. So they decided to leave, and Madinah was safe once again.
The Road to Makkah
Prophet Muhammad Goes to Ta’if: The Most Difficult Day of His Life
Prophet Muhammad Goes to Ta’if: Most Difficult Day of His Life
As soon as that happens, and that is a little over a year according to some, maybe not even a year goes by, the Prophet, peace be upon him, sees a dream that he is performing the pilgrimage, the Hajj.
Hajj means you go to Makkah, and you go unarmed…
So he is basically going to perform the pilgrimage in Makkah, mind you Makkah is contested territory.
We went to war with these people several times, and the last time they were so motivated for the blood of Muslims that they left their homes and came all the way into the city of Madinah to try and kills us.
And now, not even a year later, the Prophet says let’s go armless to do the pilgrimage in Makkah. Who is with me?
And since it is the Prophet’s dream, and the Prophet’s dream is considered revelation, we all follow suit. So 1,800 people get together, and they start marching towards Makkah, not as an army but as pilgrims for worship.
Now the Makkans, because they are a multi-religious society, people are used to come to pilgrimage all the time. Even pagans used to do the pilgrimage at the Ka’bah, which was surrounded by idols all the time.
Even though originally it is the House built by Ibrahim, it is polluted by other ignorant practices, so they are familiar with the idea of pilgrimage.
They know that when somebody comes for pilgrimage, it is not an act of war, and you can’t attack them.
In realizing this, they try to send their armies to cut the Muslims off, and try to kill them on the way.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, had his intelligence ahead who told him they are coming your way, so they diverted routes, and they went down a road that nobody would normally go by…
And they reach this barren field called Hudaibiyah.
They get there, and there is a dried up well there, and the Prophet, peace be upon him, prays there and he spits into the well, and he throws an arrow into the well, and the well starts pouring out water, so the entire caravan and their animals fed…

Judgment Day | Ep. 10- Seven Under the Shade of Allah | #islam #Quran #Hadith #sunnah
These are the seven categories of people will be under the shade of Allah when there will be no shade on the day of Judgement:
A just ruler
A youth who grew up with the worship of Allah
A person whose heart is attached to the mosques
Two men who love and meet each other and depart from each other for the sake of Allah
A man whom an extremely beautiful woman seduces (for illicit relation), but he (rejects this offer and) says: ‘I fear Allah’
A man who gives in charity and conceals it (to such an extent) that the left hand does not know what the right has given;
A man who remembers Allah in solitude and his eyes become tearful
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Seven people Allah will give them His Shade on the Day when there would be no shade but the Shade of His Throne (i.e., on the Day of Resurrection): And they are: a just ruler; a youth who grew up with the worship of Allah; a person whose heart is attached to the mosques, two men who love and meet each other and depart from each other for the sake of Allah; a man whom an extremely beautiful woman seduces (for illicit relation), but he (rejects this offer and) says: ‘I fear Allah’; a man who gives in charity and conceals it (to such an extent) that the left hand does not know what the right has given; and a man who remembers Allah in solitude and his eyes become tearful”. Beautiful Names of Allah (EP 4)- Ar-Rahman - Call to Allah with beautiful names - Asma Ul Husna
AR-RAHMAAN
(The Beneficent)
He who wills goodness and mercy for all His creatures
Allah is Ar-Rahmaan (in arabic: ٱلْرَّحْمَـانُ). He is the One who blesses all His creation with prosperity and devoid from disparity. He is most merciful, kind, and loving towards all creation. His Rahma is all inclusive and embraces all.
Arabic Root:
From the root ra-ha-mim (ر ح م), which has the following classical Arabic connotations: to have tenderness, gentleness, kindness, to love, to have mercy, to have pity, to show favor and goodness, to have all that is required for beneficence.
We begin the journey to understanding who Allah سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ with the name Ar-Rahman and Ar-Raheem. As a way of developing His relationship with us, He tells us more about Him. The names most frequently used in the Qur'an are the names of Rahmah (i.e., His mercy). We begin every surah with the exception of Surah Taubah with the recitation of the Basmala (i.e., the bismillah), in which we proclaim His mercy. The Qur'an is a gift from Allah سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ, a sign of His mercy. It gives the impression He would like all of mankind to know that He is the most gracious and the most merciful.
There are 57 mentions of the name Ar-Rahman spanning across 16 different chapters of the Qur'an.
Qulid’ul laaha awid’ur Rahmaana ayyam maa tad’oo falahul asmaaa’ul Husnaa; wa laa tajhar bi Salaatika wa laa tukhaafit bihaa wabtaghi baina zaalika sabeela
English Translation:
"Say, “Call upon Allah or call upon the Most Merciful. Whichever [name] you call – to Him belong the best names.” And do not recite [too] loudly in your prayer or [too] quietly but seek between that an [intermediate] way."— (Qur'an 17:110)
In the Qur'an "My mercy encompasses all things" (Qur'an 7:156) and Shaykh Tosun Bayrak writes of this name "He is the one who wills mercy and good for all creation, at all times, without any distinction between the good and the bad, the faithful and the rebel, the beloved and the hated." It is clear from this verse there is no discrimination as to whose worthy of His mercy and compassion.
The Names of Mercy:
There are eight names that refer to His mercy and kindness: Ar-Rahman, Ar-Raheem, Ar-Ra'uf, Al-Barr, Al-Wahhab, Al-Ghaffar, Al-Afuww, and At-Tawwab. Each name, although related under the umbrella of mercy, is unique. We'll explore each in detail and see the various ways in which Allah's mercy manifests. As for the name Ar-Rahman it is reserved for Allah سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ alone. It's a quality that can't be ascribed to anybody else. A person can be referred to as Raheem, meaning being merciful. But Ar-Rahman is understood to be all-encompassing mercy, so far-reaching that it touches everything and everyone. A kind of mercy that knows no bounds. As a name, it is understood this kind of mercy is reserved only for Allah سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ. A person named Rahman must therefore have the prefix Abdur, meaning servant of the merciful.
From the hadith, it comments on Allah's Rahmat (mercy), “Verily, Allah has one hundred portions of mercy. From one portion the creation has been given mercy by virtue of which there is mutual love between the people and ninety nine portions are reserved for the Day of Resurrection.” [1]
Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Those who are merciful will be shown mercy by the Most Merciful. Be merciful to those on the earth and the One in the heavens will have mercy upon you.” [2]
Reflection:
The belief in Allah's mercy is beneficial to a believer because it causes an individual to reflect on their ability to be merciful themselves. Narrated Jarir bin `Abdullah: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Allah will not be merciful to those who are not merciful to mankind." [3] It also encourages a believer to do good, to act with virtue so that they can receive the mercy of their Lord, "As for those who believe and do good, the Most Compassionate will certainly bless them with genuine love" (Surah Maryam ayah 96)
'Umar b. Khattab reported that there were brought some prisoners to Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) amongst whom there was also a woman, who was searching (for someone) and when she found a child amongst the prisoners, she took hold of it, pressed it against her chest and provided it suck. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Do you think this woman would ever afford to throw her child in the Fire? We said: By Allah, so far as it lies in her power, she would never throw the child in Fire.' Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Allah is more kind to His servants than this woman is to her child. [4]
Allah's mercy is vast and is described by Prophet ﷺ to be greater than a mother's love for her child. In Imam Zarruq's book, The loftiest goal in elucidating Allah's most beautiful names he recommends attaching oneself to this name through "fellowship, hope, behaving with extreme affection because of firm trust in His affection." Know Allah سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ is all-wise and all-knowing, you're forgiveness towards others, and their imperfections will be rewarded on the day of judgment. Lead with hope and compassion and seek to assist those who are misguided as they are in need. And on a concluding note for this name, begin every task by calling upon Ar-Rahman through the phrase, "Bismillah Hir-Rahman Nir-Rahim," which means "In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful." All things are only made possible with Allah's blessing. We, too, require His mercy and grace in all matters.

Judgment Day | Ep. 9 -Pulpits of Light | #Islam #Quran #Hadith #Sunnah
Light on Judgment Day
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Give glad tiding to those who walk to the mosque in darkness, of perfect light on the Day of Resurrection.”
The Day of Judgment will be a Day without light. It is a Day of darkness. The sun will be extinguished. The sun and the moon will be joined together. It’s a long walk to Jannah. Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The sun and the moon will be folded up (deprived of their light) on the Day of Resurrection.” Sahih al-Bukhari 3200
“When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness]” (Sura At-Takwir 1)
“And the sun and the moon are joined,” (Sura Al-Qiyamah 9)
It is a scene difficult to imagine– yet this is true. And Allah and His Prophet (PBUH) has warned us about this Day, over and over again. Some people have believed and acted accordingly. Some straight away disbelieved, and some pretended to be believers, but their faith has no value in the sight of Allah (SWT). These are the munafiqun or the hypocrites. These people waited, doubted, and thought that they were Muslims and had Iman, yet they were only fooling themselves. These hypocrites were deluded by the life of this world.
What will give light that Day to the believers?
Mumin (Believers) on that Day will have lights coming from front of then and on right of them.
On the Day you see the believing men and believing women, their light proceeding before them and on their right, [it will be said], “Your good tidings today are [of] gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein you will abide eternally.” That is what is the great attainment. (Sura Al-Hadid 12)
This means they will have light coming from the chest and their right hands. Strong Iman turns into light on Judgment Day, and Iman makes believers act according to Islam. Actions turn into light.
Hypocrites on that Day will say to the Believers – wait for us! and give us some of your light.
On the [same] Day the hypocrite men and hypocrite women will say to those who believed, “Wait for us that we may acquire some of your light.” It will be said, “Go back behind you and seek light.” And a wall will be placed between them with a door, its interior containing mercy, but on the outside of it is torment. (Sura Al-Hadid 13)
It will be said meaning angels will say. There is mockery and sarcasm in this statement. “go back” meaning go back to this world. Of course going back is not an option and impossible as the world as we know it would have been totally destroyed. If a person doesn’t come on Judgment Day with good deeds there is no way to come back to this world to acquire good deeds.
A massive wall will then be placed in front of the hypocrites which they will not be able to cross, and they will face torment. The side that they cannot cross has mercy of Allah.
They [i.e., the hypocrites] will call to them [i.e., the believers], “Were we not with you?” They will say, “Yes, but you afflicted yourselves and awaited [misfortune for us] and doubted, and wishful thinking deluded you until there came the command of Allah. And the Deceiver [i.e., Satan] deceived you concerning Allah. (Sura Al-Hadid 14)
This is a desperate call from the hypocrites – “weren’t we with you?”
The believers – who are now safe on the other side of the wall – will respond – here’s why you are not with us today:
Putting yourself in test. Meaning – you kept yourself putting in bad environment. You kept going to gatherings assuming it will not affect Iman. Satan worked slowly, whispering in the ears over and over again.
Procrastination – I will change soon.
Guilt – and this is when satan whispers more and more. “I believe in the Qur’an – but I am not so sure all this hadith is authentic.” Is Islam really true religion?
Doubting Islam – are all these rulings of Islam necessary? We can just be a good person. The Hereafter means nothing – there is no craving for Jannah and no fear of the fire of Jahannam.
False hopes deceived you. You ran after some worldly benefits thinking they will bring fulfilment which is entirely misleading. Until death came along.
No penalty will be taken from anyone on this Day.
So today no ransom will be taken from you or from those who disbelieved. Your refuge is the Fire. It is most worthy of you, and wretched is the destination.” (Sura Al-Hadid 14)
Remembrance of Allah, understanding and following the teachings of the Qur’an will be light for us on the Day of Judgment. We don’t realize and value this today, but on that Day when only sincere believers will have light this will benefit us.
Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allah and what has come down of the truth? And let them not be like those who were given the Scripture before, and a long period passed over them, so their hearts hardened; and many of them are defiantly disobedient. (Sura Al-Hadid 14)
May Allah keep us in His mercy and not make us amongst the hypocrites.
Allah the Exalted said,
يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ تُوبُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوۡبَةً۬ نَّصُوحًا
(O you who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance!) meaning, a true, firm repentance that erases the evil sins that preceded it and mend the shortcoming of the repenting person, encouraging and directing him to quit the evil that he used to do. Allah said,
(It may be that your Lord will expiate from you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow) And when Allah says, “it may be,” it means He shall.
يَوۡمَ لَا يُخۡزِى ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِىَّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُ ۥۖ
(the Day that Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and those who believe with him) meaning, on the Day of Resurrection, Allah will not disgrace those who believed in the Prophet,
نُورُهُمۡ يَسۡعَىٰ بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيہِمۡ وَبِأَيۡمَـٰنِہِمۡ
(Their light will run forward before them and in their right hands.) as we explained in Surat Al-Hadid,
(They will say: “Our Lord! Keep perfect our light for us and grant us forgiveness. Verily, You are Able to do all things.”) Mujahid, Ad-Dahhak and Al-Hasan Al-Basri and other said, “This is the statement that the believers will say on the Day of Resurrection, when they witness the light of the hypocrites being extinguished.” Imam Ahmad recorded that a man from the tribe of Banu Kinanah said, “I prayed behind the Messenger of Allah during the year of the Conquest (of Makkah), and heard him say,
« اللْهُمَّ لَا تُخْزِنِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَة »
(O Allah! Please, do not disgrace me on the Day of Resurrection.)”
Sura Tahrim Tafsir ibn Katheer
GOOD DEEDS
The Believers are awarded a Light on the Day of Resurrection, according to Their Good Deeds
Allah the Exalted states that the believers who spend in charity will come on the Day of Resurrection with their light preceding them in the area of the Gathering, according to the level of their good deeds. As reported from Abdullah bin Masud:
يَسۡعَىٰ نُورُهُم بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيہِمۡ
(their light running forward before them), he said, “They will pass over the Sirat according to their deeds. Some of them will have a light as large as a mountain, some as a date tree, some as big as a man in the standing position. The least among them has a light as big as his index finger, it is lit at times and extinguished at other times.” Ibn Abi Hatim and Ibn Jarir collected this Hadith. Ad-Dahhak commented on the Ayah, “Everyone will be given a light on the Day of Resurrection. When they arrive at the Sirat, the light of the hypocrites will be extinguished. When the believers see this, they will be concerned that their light also will be extinguished, just as the light of the hypocrites was. This is when the believers will invoke Allah, `O our Lord! Perfect our light for us.”’ Allah’s statement,
وَبِأَيۡمَـٰنِهِم
(and in their right hands.) Ad-Dahhak said: “Their Books of Records.” As Allah said:
فَمَنۡ أُوتِىَ ڪِتَـٰبَهُ ۥ بِيَمِينِهِۦ
(So whosoever is given his record in his right hand.)(17:71) Allah said,
بُشۡرَٮٰكُمُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ جَنَّـٰتٌ۬ تَجۡرِى مِن تَحۡتِہَا ٱلۡأَنۡہَـٰرُ
(Glad tidings for you this Day! Gardens under which rivers flow,) meaning, it will be said to them, “Receive glad tidings this Day, of gardens beneath which rivers flow,
خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَاۖ
(to dwell therein forever!), you will remain therein forever,”
ذَٲلِكَ هُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ
(Truly, this is the great success!)
WALKING TO MASJID IN DARKNESS
It was narrated from Buraydah al-Aslami (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Give glad tiding to those who walk to the mosque in darkness, of perfect light on the Day of Resurrection.” Narrated by Abu Dawood, 561; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh Abi Dawood.
LIGHT FROM TRACES OF WUDU
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, my nation will be called on the Day of Resurrection as brightly radiant from the traces of ablution. Whoever among you is able to extend his radiance, let him do so.” Source: Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 136, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 246
SPENDING LIFE FOR THE SAKE OF ALLAH
In Musnad Ahmad and Sunan at-Tirmidhi (1635) it is narrated from ‘Amr ibn ‘Abasah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever has one hair that turns grey for the sake of Allah, it will be light for him on the Day of Resurrection.”
Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh at-Tirmidhi.
And Allah knows best.

Characteristics of the Names of Allah
He is Allah , the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. (Al-Hashr 59:27)
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Allah has ninety-nine Names, i.e., one hundred minus one, and whoever believes in their meanings and acts accordingly, will enter Paradise; and Allah is witr (one) and loves ‘the witr‘ (i.e., odd numbers).” (Al-Bukhari)
Dr. Yasir Qadhi continues his reflection and explanation of the Names & Attributes of Allah in the light of the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him). In this episode, Dr. Yasir mentions some of the unique characteristics of Allah’s Names and how to understand these divine Names. There is a misconception among Muslims that Allah has only 99 Names. Actually, Allah has infinite number of names that cannot be counted.
What exactly is the concept of the 99 Names of Allah?
Watch this short video to find the answer to this question and more about the unique characteristics of Allah’s Names.

GET TO KNOW: Ep. 8 - Surah Ya-Sin - Nouman Ali Khan - Quran Weekly
Surat Yasin is an invitation to all human beings to look and reflect on two miracles that Allah has placed in this universe: The Qur’an representing the recited words of Allah, and the universe representing the viewed signs of Allah’s power. The Surah develops its arguments in six distinct sections:
1- The Divine Words of Allah, and the attitude of the heedless [1-12]
The Surah starts with a discussion about the revelation of the Qur’an and its purpose. The Arabs were not used to the concept of a Messenger and the Qur’an states that clearly:
{To warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, and so they are unaware} (Yasin 36:6)
Hence the Qur’an is a warning and a reminder for the heedless. Ghaflah is one of those diseases of the heart that may prevent someone from getting the guidance:
{We have set barriers before and behind them, blocking their vision: they cannot see} (Yasin 36:9)
2- Reflect On History [13-30]:
"In the Name of Allah," All Universe Sings
"In the Name of Allah," All Universe Sings
The next section mentions the story of a community that received three messengers and one supporter. This is an interesting incident from many aspects: it is one of the few communities that had three messengers at the same time. Not only that, the names of the messengers were not mentioned, and their speeches were not highlighted. Instead, the activism and the speeches of an individual (who can be considered a companion) became the center of attention of the Surah:
{We sent two messengers but they rejected both. Then We reinforced them with a third. They said, ‘Truly, we are messengers to you.”} (Yasin 36:14)
{Then, from the furthest part of the city, a man came running. He said, ‘My people, follow the messengers.} (Yasin 36:20)
That man had so much passion for his community, despite the fact that they ended up murdering him. And while he was entering paradise, he still had this love for his people (Yasin 36: 26-27)
3- Look Around You & Reflect on God’s Creation [31-44]
The Surah moves on with the discussion on the present, as though it tells its audience: if you don’t want to reflect on history and learn from it, then at least look at the miraculous signs in the creation of Allah:
{There is a sign for them in the lifeless earth: We give it life and We produce grain from it for them to eat} (Yasin 6:33}
{The night is also a sign for them: We strip the daylight from it, and– lo and behold!– they are in darkness} (Yasin 36:37)
4- The Stubborn and the blind [45-47]
Even when people refuse to reflect on history and fail to look at the universe around them, Allah still invites them again:
{Yet when they are told, ‘Beware of what lies before and behind you, so that you may be given mercy,’ they ignore every single sign that comes to them from their Lord} (Yassin 36:45-46)
5- Consequences of Disbelief on the Day of Judgment [48-70]
Allah's Mercy and a World Full of Dangers
Allah's Mercy and a World Full of Dangers
The next section takes us into the future, to the Day of Resurrection, and warns the disbelievers of their destiny if they insist on rejecting Allah’s clear signs in the Qur’an, in the history, and in the present world that they live in:
{So this is the Fire that you were warned against. Enter it today, because you (persistently) rejected (Truth).} (Yasin 36:63-64)
{If it had been Our will, We could have taken away their sight. They would have struggled to find the way, but how could they have seen it?} (Yassin 63:66)
6- Conclusion: The attitude of Arrogance towards Allah’s signs
The First section in this Surah addressed the heedlessness of the disbelievers. In parallel, the last segment focused on another disease of the heart, which is arrogance. Both cause a human being to disbelief and block him/her from seeing the signs of Allah in his book and his creation:
{Can man not see that We created him from a drop of fluid? Yet– lo and behold!– he disputes openly, producing arguments against Us, forgetting his own creation. He says, ‘Who can give life back to bones after they have decayed?’
Say, ‘He who created them in the first place will give them life again: He has full knowledge of every act of creation} (Yasin 36: 77-79)

Beautiful names of Allah EP 1 - Call to Allah with his beautiful names -Asma Ul Husna-
Characteristics of the Names of Allah
Actually, Allah has infinite number of names that cannot be counted

GET TO KNOW: Ep. 7 - Surah Al-'Ankabut - Nouman Ali Khan - Quran Weekly
Surah Al-Ankabut is a late Makkan surah.
The surah starts with a story of Muslims being tortured and being put to the test…
One of the companions, Khabbab ibn Al-Arat, was subject to severe torture, and he came to the Prophet, peace be upon him, asking him why was this happening to them?
And the first two verses from the Qur’an were revealed:
The Story of Allah’s Prophets
After talking about the patience believers must have when faced with these trials, Allah mentions two Prophets.
First Prophet Noah, peace be upon him.
{And We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them a thousand years minus fifty years, and the flood seized them while they were wrongdoers.} (29:14)
So what Allah is telling believers is look, you’ve been going through struggles for a few years, but there are believers before you who have been struggling for centuries.
So learn from them.
Then He switches over and all of a sudden out of nowhere, He switches the subject to Ibrahim, peace be upon him:
{And [We sent] Abraham, when he said to his people, “Worship Allah and fear Him. That is best for you, if you should know.} (29:16)
What’s the parallel between Noah and Ibrahim?
Allah is actually showing us how He rescues people.
Noah, peace be upon him, has been rescued from water.
And Ibrahim, peace be upon him, has been rescued from fire.
So two extreme opposite elements.
Allah can rescue you from anything.
He can rescue you from the most terrible of floods, and He can rescue you from drowning in a gigantic flame.
He can do that.
So He is telling the Muslims if He can make a way of escape for Noah and Ibrahim, He will make a way of escape for you.
Prepare for Hijrah
Understanding the Theme of Values in the Quran
Understanding the Theme of Values in the Quran
Interestingly enough, as the story continues, Allah (SWT) talks about Lot.
And He says about Lot {… Indeed, I will emigrate to [the service of] my Lord …} (29:26)
Lot also was in an impossible situation, and he literally used the word I am migrating to my Master.
So now we have the case of three people who escaped and migrated.
Why is it important?
Muslims are being tortured in Makkah, and now through the stories of the Qur’an, the idea is being implanted in their minds that it is time for migration.
Like instead of spelling it out and saying migrate, He is telling them to migrate through these stories.
It is incredible.
Then He starts talking about nations that have been destroyed before, but the people who believed were always saved.
So don’t worry. If these people are on the verge of destruction, (the Quraish), that does not mean that you are going to be destroyed.
You need to find your escape … You need to get away.
Remember this is a Makki surah, and remember that Muslims in Makkah are primarily dealing with idol worshippers, the Qureish.
But by the end of this surah, He says:
{And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best…} (29:46)
So the command is don’t debate with the People of the Book (Jews & Christians) except with that which is better: in terms of argument, you present better arguments and also better ethics, a better way of speaking.
If they speak to you with harsh language, don’t respond with harsh language.
If they speak to you angrily, don’t respond angrily.
Why in a Makkan surah would Allah tell His Prophet and the Muslim community to deal with People of the Book kindly, and to engage in conversation with them?
The reason for that is that they are about to leave Makkah, and they are about to go to Madinah.
And when they go to Madinah they are going to be dealing with the People of the Book.
So it’s so beautifully embedded, the instructions to the Prophet, peace be upon him, inside the narrative of the Qur’an, that people who were living this experience can hear the code, they can hear right through it, and they can tell what is being told to them.
And they were now mentally prepared to take this step.
This is why, in the end of the surah, Allah (SWT) says in the conclusion of this message:
{And those who strive for Us – We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good.} (29:69)
There wasn’t one road to Madinah, there were multiple roads.
So it has this general spiritual meaning, but also in the context in which the surah was revealed it had a very particular meaning.
Those of you who have been struggling to hold on to your faith, I will give you multiple ways to get away…

GET TO KNOW: Ep. 6 - Surah Al-Qasas - Nouman Ali Khan - Quran Weekly
Introduction
Istiqamah – 6 Steps for Keeping Straight in the Journey to Allah
Istiqamah – 6 Steps for Keeping Straight in the Journey to Allah
This Surah features in its longest section the story of Prophet Moses, peace be upon him, before his conversation with Allah at the mountain.
It takes us back to the scene where he was going to be killed because the armies of Pharaoh were going to come in and slaughter everybody, and his mother had thrown him into the river.
From there, his entire life story leading up to the mountain is described, though this Surah does also cover how he challenges the Pharaoh and how that transpires, and we learn details of that as well, but primarily the emphasis is everything leading up to the mountain.
This includes what was his story before he got to the mountain.
How did he end up getting married anyway?
How did he escape Egypt?
Why did he have to run from Egypt?
Why were they after him? Why did they want to kill him?
What compelled him to come back?
All of that stuff is captured very beautifully in a very dramatic way in the beginning of this Surah.
Stories in the Qur’an
Seerah For New Converts (Special Folder)
Seerah For New Converts (Special Folder)
Something you should notice about story-telling in the Qur’an is that in a lot of places in the Qur’an Allah will tell a story, and by the time He concludes the story, He will have a special comment just to the Prophet himself, peace be upon him.
All of us are audiences to this story, but the first audience to this story is the original recipient, the Prophet himself, peace be upon him.
So Allah will say, by the way here are lessons that you need to take from the story, meaning the Prophet himself, peace be upon him.
So this is a special acknowledgement of the Prophet being the original recipient of the Qur’an that you will find in multiple cases; a story being told followed by a commentary to the Prophet, peace be upon him.
Now what is really cool about this Surah in particular is we really appreciate the power of the Qur’an discourse if you appreciate how it is organized. Take some observations about how the Surah is organized.
This is a fairly long Surah, and what you will notice is that at the end there is a replica.
In other words, at the beginning of the Surah you have a long account to Musa’s life, followed by comments to the Prophet.
The Story of Qarun
Humility – The Path to God
Humility - The Path to God
At the end of this Surah, you have another story, with another character (his name is Qarun), and he is not talked about in detail anywhere except in this place.
So this Surah, the stories it contains are unique. Meaning the chapter as it unfolds of the life of Musa, and the story of Qarun which is unique. We don’t learn anything else about him anywhere else in the Qur’an in the way we do here.
So it tells us the story of Qarun, and as soon as that story is done, the Surah concludes with comments to the Prophet.
So story with comments in the beginning, then story with comments at the end.
That’s how this whole Surah is organized, and then in the middle is the meat of the Surah, which I will tell you about it in a second.
But first I want to tell you, Musa and Qarun, what is the point of putting them in the same Surah, and at opposite ends of the Surah?
You notice about the story of Qarun, Allah will tell us things that will make you think that he is the alternative version of Musa, like everything Musa isn’t, Qarun is.
And everything Qarun isn’t, Musa is.
{Indeed, Qarun was from the people of Moses, but he tyrannized them. And We gave him of treasures whose keys would burden a band of strong men; thereupon his people said to him, “Do not exult. Indeed, Allah does not like the exultant.} (28:76)
This story then concludes with comments to the Prophet, peace be upon him.
The Middle of the Surah
Get to Know Surah Al-Qasas – with Brother Nouman - About Islam
Get to Know Surah Al-Qasas – with Brother Nouman
Now I want to show you what is happening in the middle of the Surah.
If you want to understand the middle well, you can break it up into two halves also.
So you have two parts that are at either extreme ends of the Surah, and there are two parts in the middle.
And the way to really understand what is happening in terms of subject matter is, I will use a little bit of algebra to help you understand, you can think of Half 1 & Half 2.
In Half 1, you can think of it as an A – B – A organization. I will tell you what that means.
Allah will first talk about the Qureish, and what kind of excuses they make.
I want to read some of them to you.
So, the Qureish will say things like:
{But when the truth came to them from Us, they said, “Why was he not given like that which was given to Moses?…”} (28:48)
(So the Qureish say) He is telling us all these amazing things that happened with Moses, we don’t see a stick turning into a snake, we don’t see water parting. So why should we be impressed with Muhammad? Why does he not show us impressive things like Musa was able to show the Pharaoh?
The Qureish make the same excuses.
And they are immature in the way they are approaching the subject of the validity or the authenticity of the Prophet, peace be upon him.
And Allah compares their attitude to a second group, which is a sincere group of Jews and Christians, who hear the message of the Qur’an and it resonates with them.
And Allah will talk about them, the sincere of the People of the Book and say:
{Those to whom We gave the Scripture before it – they are believers in it. And when it is recited to them, they say, “We have believed in it; indeed, it is the truth from our Lord. Indeed we were, [even] before it, Muslims [submitting to Allah ].”} (28:52-53)
So there is a contrast.
There is a group of unlettered Qureish who say we need to be impressed like the Pharaoh was impressed, and they don’t realize that they are calling themselves Pharaoh in doing so.
And on the other hand the mature attitude, even those who are not Muslims yet, who heard this revelation who were so moved by it, and they want to accept the faith.
And then we go back to A again, which is the Qureish making excuses, and they say: {And they say, “If we were to follow the guidance with you, we would be swept from our land…”} (28:57)
And Allah responds to their excuses: {Have we not established for them a safe sanctuary to which are brought the fruits of all things as provision from Us?} (28:57)
So in this first half, you have the Qureish excuses and then you have people who have a mature attitude towards listening to this revelation and considering it, and then He goes back to more excuses that they make.
That’s the A – B – A construct.
In the second half of the Surah, you find another kind of structure, and that is A – B – A – B …

Judgement Day (EP-6)- 2 Faces and 1 tongue | #Quran #Hadith
The Prophet ﷺ and his Companions warned us many times to beware the follies of the tongue. A heedless word or a biting insult could result in the worst punishments in the hereafter because they hurt other people so deeply. But a believer who guards their tongue and speaks well of others will have glad tidings on the Day of Judgment.
he said i heard the prophet saws. say the person who has two faces in this world will have two tongues of fire on the day of judgment subhanallah. notice here the emphasis on fire because the secrets and honor of people are so sacred to allah that when you violate those boundaries you're pouring fire in your ears.

GET TO KNOW: Ep. 5 - Surah Al-Kahf - Nouman Ali Khan - Quran Weekly
Introduction
This Surah is divided into four passages and four stories.
You can think of this Surah as two halves:
The first half of this Surah starts with a passage which is kind like a sermon from Allah (SWT), teaching us about the temporary nature of this life, followed by the first story, followed by another sermon, followed by another story.
So there are two elements in the Surah: sermons and stories.
Sermon means a collection of ayat that are teaching you about a profound reality, like the temporary nature of this world, or what Judgement Day is going to look like, or what kinds of people are going to successful and what kinds are going to be failures.
These are all sermons…
Then there are stories like the People of the Cave, the gardeners, the story of Moses (peace be upon him) and the story of Dhul Qarnayn.
Those are stories…
But the way it is organized, there are two halves; in the first half you get sermon followed by story, followed by sermon, followed by story.
Faith vs. Materialism: Don’t Under-Estimate or Over-Estimate
So what sermons do we get?
The nature of materialism and how we are not supposed to get locked up into the beauty of this world.
Allah (SWT) says:
This first sermon is followed by the profound story of young people who survived throughout the most difficult trials and were able to hold on to their faith.
All they knew is that there is one God and that He should be worshipped, and Allah miraculously aided them throughout the ages, and made them sleep for several hundred years in the midst of the cave where nobody else knew them, and He woke them up.
The story is very famous.
What is interesting is that the sermons complete each other and the stories also complete each other.
The second story is of two gardeners; one of them has a lot of wealth. He has a great deal of gardens and rivers flowing in between.
He has multiple properties, two gardens actually, and they produce at a 100% capacity.
The other guy is so insignificant in his assets compared to his neighbor, that his assets are not even mentioned in the Qur’an.
One of them down-talks to the other, and Allah teaches him a lesson by removing all of his assets and his entire garden is just flipped upside down.
What is amazing about these two stories, the story of the cave and the story of the gardeners, is on one hand you under-estimate young people with no material resources are capable of.
Materialism isn’t just loving money and loving wealth and loving status, but materialism is that you only believe in material resources as capable of providing aid.
Allah shatters that on the one hand by us under-estimating what young people are capable of. If they are going to hide under a cave, how long are they going to survive?
They are going to starve to death or come back and get caught.
These are the only two options.
And yet, Allah defies material science, bends the laws of nature, for these young men and saves them.
So we shouldn’t under-estimate what Allah can do, and that the material world itself is in submission to Allah.
On the other hand, it is not under-estimating it is over-estimating.
The wealthy gardener over-estimates the value of what he has:
Don’t over-estimate the value of materials goods, Allah can take it away any time.
So if you have nothing, don’t think you have nothing, you still have Allah.
And if you have everything, don’t think you have everything, Allah can take all of that away unless you understand that you did not have anything to begin with.
Musa vs. Dhul Qarnayn
Main Concepts in the Quran
Main Concepts in the Quran
In the second half of the Surah, it is a different type of organization:
It starts with passage, then story 1, followed by story 2 then passage.
The passages are both about the Day of Judgement, they are both about Resurrection, about what truths are going to manifest on that Day.
They are both very powerful, profound passages, with multiple links to each other…
In the first two stories, the contrast was between under-estimating the youth, in the story of the People of the Cave, and over-estimating the wealth in the case of one of the two gardeners.
In the two stories in the second half of the Surah, Allah teaches us something else.
The contrast is between Musa, peace be upon him, who wants to establish justice, and Dhul Qarnayn, who also wants to do the right thing.
One of them is completely powerless to change the situation around him. He cannot do the right thing because he has been instructed: you cannot say a word, you cannot criticize.
So when the ship is being wrecked or damaged, or when the boy is killed right in front of your eyes, or you had to do hard work and put some wall up and you are not compensated for it, you cannot say a word.
That’s clear injustice.
On the other hand you have Dhul Qarnayn who sees injustice and fixes it.
He solves problems wherever he goes.
People come to him with a problem, and he solves it.
What Allah is contrasting here, is that sometimes you have the power to do things materially, and sometimes you don’t.
Sometimes there is a larger plan at work, and believers have to understand that sometimes they will have material resources at their disposal, and other times they will no have material resources at their disposal to be able to do the right thing.
Conclusion
The Path to Ease
The Path to Ease
In summing all of these stories up which Allah has given us in this amazing Surah, is our approach to worldly life.
Having power is not a blessing, and not having power is not a blessing.
When you have it, use it the right way.
When you don’t have it, understand that you still have much to do, you still have much to learn.
And there is a reason why you don’t have it.
When you don’t have material resources, there may be a grand plan, like the youth. Allah will aid you anyway.
And when you have a lot of material resources, money, media, power, reputation, etc., none of that means anything.
Allah can take that away whenever He wants.
So our reliance at the end of this Surah falls entirely on Allah.
To wrap up, the idea of Dajjal is actually someone who produces material and physical worldly incredible things. He can make crops grow where no crops grow.
He can travel at paces nobody can travel.
He can bring a dead person back to life, and make it look like he brought a dead person back to life.
He is doing these amazing worldly material things and people are mesmerized by it, and fall into worship of him, and the readers are told this Surah will keep you in-check because after this Surah, you will not be mesmerized by what you see.
You understand there is a reality that you see, and the much more powerful reality that you and I don’t see and don’t perceive, that is the power of Allah (SWT) that is always at play.
We should not rely on what we see, we should rely on the One whom we can’t see, Allah (SWT).

Dr Zakir Naik Scientifically & Logically Proves to an Atheist the Existence of Hell & Heaven
A. (Dr.Zakir): The brother has posed a question, that educated people do not believe in ‘Qayamah’…the day of resurrection and life after death, etc., that the world is going to end, etc.- So how will you prove to them logically or scientifically about ‘Qayamah’, about life after death, etc. Brother one way as I said earlier, that if 80% of the Qur’an has been proved to be 100% correct , and the remaining 20% is ambiguous… my logic says, that even this 20% will be correct. That is the answer that I gave earlier. There is another way you can prove to these educated people , by asking them a simple question. You ask him the question…‘Is robbing good or bad?… Robbing, is it good or bad?’ The brother is saying… ‘It is bad’. Is raping good or bad? ‘Bad’ – the brother is saying ‘Bad’. What I ask the question to these educated people, who do not believe in Qiyamah, who do not believe in life after death. I tell them… ‘Can you give me one logical reason why robbing is bad?’ Only one – Can you give me one logical reason why it is bad ? if you ask a person…‘Why not to rob?’- they give various reasons… that if you rob it hurts the feeling of the other person. See I am telling you, I am a smuggler… Suppose I am a smuggler – You prove to me why robbing is bad. See I am not bothered whether it is harming the other person or not – No one can harm me. If I rob if I take out a thousand rupees from the wallet of a man passing by – I can go to Delhi Darbar, I can have dinner, I can have lunch, I can go to movie, I can enjoy life – It is good – why it is bad ? Some people will say… ‘If you rob – someone else, some day someone will rob you- No one can rob me – I am a Mafia. I have just a example – I am Mafia – I have got thousand body guards – All with AK47, all with AK47. No one can harm me – I can harm them…I have got thousand body guard, all with AK47 – No one can harm my family – My family is guarded. I want to ask the question you prove to me robing is bad . One logical reason, not two – Why it is bad, and I will stop it immediately. I am a logical person – I believe in science, as you said I am a logical person – I believe in science – You prove to me why it is bad. Some may say that…‘ See, it is against humanity’. I ask… ‘Who wrote this book called humanity ?… Who wrote it ?’ I do not believe in it – I am enjoying life. When I rob thousand rupees, when I rob 1 lakh rupees , I can enjoy life , I can buy a new flat. I can go abroad, and no one can harm me because I am a Mafia. Some people will say…‘ The police will catch you and put you in the jail’. I say… ‘ I have got the police in my pocket, I have got the ministers in my pocket. And you know that throughout the world, there are various top smugglers who have got the police in their pockets – they have got ministers in their pockets, no one can harm them. Throughout the world you have got example , I am saying…‘ I am such a Mafia – You prove to me why it is bad, and I will stop robbing. And this question I have posed to thousands of people in audiences. Whatever answer they give – it does not satisfy logically. So I tell them… ‘Okay, now you become that Mafia… and I will try and convince to you – why robbing is bad, why raping is bad.’ So he is happy… now Zakir took me for a ride, now we will take Zakir for a ride. So I tell them the reason why robbing is bad. May be you are a Mafia, no one can harm you. I agree with you, no one can harm your family, but if you rob – you go against the commandments of Allah (SWT) and in the Hereafter you will get punishment. In this world you may have the police in your pocket, you may have the minister in your pocket – but in the Hereafter you will be held responsible. I am asking you a question, that your human law… you talk about a human law… Now I am speaking as a Muslim – Now you are the Mafia. I am speaking as a Muslim, and convincing you of ‘Qayamah’, and life after death. I am telling you that if you are a Mafia and you kill many people, you may get saved in this world, not in the Hereafter. I asked a question, that suppose there is a smuggler who has killed hundreds of people – do not you think he requires punishment? He requires – Where will he get it? We see many smugglers lead a luxurious life – they have got palaces, they enjoy life – and they die a very good death. Some people die a bad death, some people die a good death – Do not you think they require a punishment? Hitler – Do you know Hitler?… Hitler incinerated 6 million Jews. He burnt 6 million Jews alive – Do you know that ? Even if you say 6 lakhs, I agree with you? -You say 6000 I agree with you. I am asking the question, if your law catches Hitler what punishment can you give him? What punishment? Worst you can do is incinerate him, you can burn him – But that will compensate only for one death. What about the other 5 million. 9 hundred thousand nine hundred and ninety nine deaths. But in my logical case, in the Hereafter, Allah will put him in the Hell. And Qur’an says in Surah Nisa, Ch. 4, Verse 56, ‘As to those whose reject Our signs, We well put you in hell fire, and as often as your skin will roasted, We shall give you fresh skins’. If Allah wants, He can burn Hitler 6 million times – He can even burn Hitler, 12 million times. Therefore without a Hereafter, there will be no morality in this world – So raping is bad. Why? – Because if you get saved in this world you will it pay in the Hereafter. Hope that answers the question.

Judgment day (EP-5)- Addressing the gathering | #Islam #Quran
The Messenger of Allah (S) said:
You have asked about an extremely great matter!
Then, with tearful eyes, he said:
Ten groups from my Ummah would be distinguished from others and they would be gathered in different forms: some would come in form of monkeys and pigs in Qiyamat. Some would be brought upside down; they would be dragging their shoulders. Some would be presented blind and they would also walk in the same way.
Some would be brought deaf and dumb and they would not understand anything. Some would come chewing their tongues while it would be hanging on their chests and blood and puss would be flowing from their mouths and the folks of the gathering would be disgusted with them.
Some would have their limbs cut off. Some would be crucified on branches of fire. Some would stink more than carrion. Some would be dressed in clothes that would be dyed in tar and it would be sticking to their bodies.
Those who would be brought in the form of monkeys are actually those who spread mischief through lies and rumors. Those who would be brought in the form of pigs would be those who made money through unlawful means. Those who move on their faces would be those took usury. Those who would be brought deaf and dumb would be those who were conceited.
Those chewing their tongues would in fact be religious scholars and judges, whose actions were opposed to their words.
Those who would have their limbs cut off would be those who had harassed their neighbors.
Those who hung from branches of fire would be those who spy on others.
Those stinking more than carrion would be those who followed the unlawful carnal desires and who did not pay the share of Allah and the poor from their wealth.
Those who would come with their clothes smeared in tar would be the conceited and arrogant ones.1
The Messenger of Allah (S) said:
The proud would be brought on Judgment Day in the form of small ants and they would be trampled by the folks of gathering till the accounting of the people is over.2
The Messenger of Allah (S) also said:
One who cheats Muslims in trade is not from us (a Muslim) and on Judgment Day he would be raised with the Jews, since they were also habitual cheaters.3
From the abovementioned traditions and tens of other such reports, it can be concluded that some people would be raised on Judgment Day in the form of animals. It is said that it does not imply that their form and worldly body would be changed into the form and worldly body of animals, as it was previously stated that man after death would come in Barzakh and Qiyamat with the same body that he possessed in the world. In such a way that whoever sees him would remark: It is the same so and so person who was there in the world. On the contrary, it implies that the being of such persons would change into the being of animal and they would really be brought as animals.
Even though their forms would be human, since in the world the animal manners and powers have completely dominated them, internally they have turned into animals, but others would be unaware of this; but since Judgment Day is the day when the inner being of man would be exposed, their being animals would also become apparent, although they would be there in human forms, since there is beastliness of animals in their beings and not in form or make-up.
Imam Khomeini has said with regard to this:
Just as man is having a particular worldly form in this world…there is a particular form for him, which is unseen, whose form is under the control of self and inner being in the world after death, whether it be Barzakh or Qiyamat. If the inner and secret being of man is human, his spiritual form is also human. But if it is non-human, his form is also not human. For example, if carnal and beastly desires dominate his inner self and the inner being becomes a beast, man is a beast in the form of a celestial entity according to that creation. And if feeling of anger and ferocity dominates his inner being, that fierceness would become his unseen celestial form. And if doubts and satanity become dominant and his inner being assumes satanic inclinations like deception, dishonesty, lying, back biting, his unseen and ethereal form is that of one of the satans, depending on the evil quality affecting him

GET TO KNOW: Ep. 4 - Surah Yusuf - Nouman Ali Khan - Quran Weekly #Islam
Introduction
It is one of the most profound and unique Surahs in the Qur’an, where the entire narrative is dedicated to one story.
The Qur’an usually has multiple stories in one Surah, but this time it is a dedicated discourse, beginning to end, in chronological order from one individual, and that is Yusuf, peace be upon him, along with his brothers.
This is a Surah where you can literally spend years taking up a passage and deciphering how many gems of wisdom are embedded, literally ayah by ayah, phrase by phrase.
It’s absolutely overwhelming and a profound study that has an incredible amount of insight.
The first thing, from a contemporary point of view, about this Surah is that especially students of psychology and sociology should pay close attention to this Surah.
Aleem, Hakeem
A Journey to God (Folder)
A Journey to God (Folder)
The second observation is the names of Allah mentioned in this Surah, including a name which is not used elsewhere in the Qur’an (Ghaleb ala Amrihi) i.e. Allah is Dominant over His affairs, and (Lateef lima Yashaa’) i.e. Subtle in whatever He does. These two names are balanced with two other names Hakeem (The All-Wise), and Aleem (The All-Knowing).
At the start of the Surah, Yusuf tells his father of a dream he saw, and his dad is full of hope, and he mentions that Allah will fulfill His favor upon you, and will fulfil His favor upon the family of Yacoub.
{And thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of narratives and complete His favor upon you and upon the family of Jacob, as He completed it upon your fathers before, Abraham and Isaac. Indeed, your Lord is Knowing and Wise.} (12:6)
Allah is Knowing (Aleem), and Wise, He has all the Wisdom (Hakeem).
So Aleem Hakeem first occur in the context of optimism.
The second time, (later on in the Surah) when Aleem Hakeem is mentioned, so many bad things have already happened; Yusuf has been kidnapped, he’s been gone for years, there is a drought, they don’t have any food, …
The sons then go to Egypt to find food, and they don’t even know the minister they are talking to is their actual own brother.
Yusuf then actually plots to have one of them, Benjamin, arrested and withheld for other reasons.
Now they come back to their dad a second time empty-handed without a son; first they took Yusuf, now they took Benjamin.
So this father has received bad news after bad news, and now his second son is gone, but Yacoub says:
{[Jacob] said, “Rather, your souls have enticed you to something, so patience is most fitting. Perhaps Allah will bring them to me all together. Indeed it is He who is the Knowing, the Wise.} (12:83)
So he’s saying, Allah knows everything, He is All-Wise. In other words, he trusts Allah in the worst of situations, and knows that Allah has wisdom in how He does things.
And seeing how He does things, I don’t understand His plan, but He does have a plan because He is Wise.
And I know what I know, but there is a lot I don’t know, and only Allah knows. So I’m just going to be quiet and trust Allah.
So the second time Aleem Hakeem comes, it teaches us trust in bad times.
The first time, He taught us optimism. We should be optimistic about our future. And when things are out of control, we should rely on Allah’s Knowledge and Wisdom.
Love in Islam – A Necessary Ingredient
Love in Islam - A Necessary Ingredient
The Reunion
And finally, amazingly enough, the reunion happens.
Everybody is together, Yusuf, peace be upon him, puts his parents on the throne, there is a massive celebration, and what does Yusuf say?
{… Indeed, my Lord is Subtle in what He wills. Indeed, it is He who is the Knowing, the Wise.} (12:100)
He is looking back now, how subtle and how invisible Allah’s plan was all along, and how amazingly by the way if Yusuf was not in prison.
Think of it: If Yusuf was not in prison, and he did not meet those two prisoners, then a drought would have happened, regardless, but there would not have been someone to give the suggestion that Yusuf gave.
Hundreds, if not hundreds of thousands of people would have starved to death if Yusuf did not go through what he went through.
And it included the survival of his own family, too.
His own brothers and their families, his own father and his mother, they would have starved to death, if this did not happen.
That was just one of the things that were going on in the background; there was a greater good that needed to be accomplished.
And as a result, he is able to sponsor all of his family to Egypt, and they settle in Egypt, which means the Children of Israel now live in Egypt, and the saga of the Egyptians and the Israelites begins.
And this will eventually lead to the coming of Musa, peace be upon him…
So all of this begins with the trials of Yusuf, peace be upon him.
If that didn’t happen, none of this would have happened.
Allah Knows.
But Yusuf just looks back at his life, and says Allah knew all along.
Allah had reason all along, and now I see it.
In other words, the third time you use Al-Aleem Al-Hakeem, is when you look back at your life and you appreciate the wisdom that at the time you could not appreciate.
And this happens in your life and in my life all the time.
There are bad things we go through and we ask why is this happening? But at the time you trust Allah and say Allah is Wise, there is a plan.
But years later you look back and you say if that bad thing did not happen, if I did not lose my job over there, I would have never got this new job, I would have never moved here, I would have never made these friends…
So all the good that happened in my life was a result of one bad experience that Allah put me through.
And that can happen. It’s happened to me, and this is the idea of Aleem, Hakeem being a sentiment of gratitude.

First Night in the Grave- Be prepared| Mufti Menk #Quran #Sunnah
The first night in the Grave (Barzagh)
The Messenger of Allaah (SAW) said, "The souls of the Believers are inside green birds in the trees of Paradise until Allaah returns them to their bodies on the Day of Resurrection." [At-Tabraanee]
The Messenger of Allaah (SAW) said, "Seek Allaah's protection from the Punishment of the Grave, since punishment of the Grave is a fact/true." [At-Tabraanee]
The Messenger of Allaah (SAW) said, "Verily the grave is the first stopping place for the Hereafter; so if he is saved therein, then what comes after is easier than it. And if he is not saved therefrom, then that which comes after is harder." [Tirmidhi]
The Messenger of Allaah (SAW) said, "When the dead person is buried two black-blue angels come to him, one called al-Munkar and the other called an-Nakeer, and they say to him: 'What had you used to say about this man?' So he says what he used to say: 'Allaah's slave and His Messenger, I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.' So they say: 'Verily we knew that you (would) say that.' Then his grave is widened for him to the extent of seventy cubits by seventy, then it is made light for him, then it is said: ' Sleep.' So he says: 'I should go to my family and inform them.' So they say: 'Sleep as the newly married sleeps whom no-one awakes except his favourite wife.' Until Allaah raises him up from that place of sleep. And if he is a hypocrite (munaafiq), he says: 'I heard the people saying something so I said it too, I don't know.' So they say: 'We knew that you (would) say that.' So it is said to the earth: 'Crush him', so he is crushed until his cross over and he remains in the state of torture until Allaah raises him up from that resting place." [Tirmidhi]
The Messenger of Allaah (SAW) said, "When a human being is laid in his grave and his companions return and he even hears their footsteps, two angels come to him and make him sit and ask him: What did you used to say about this man, Muhammad? He will say: I testify that he is Allaah's slave and His Apostle. Then it will be said to him, 'Look at your place in the Hell-Fire. Allaah has changed for you a place in Paradise instead of it.' The Prophet (SAW) added, "The dead person will see both his places. But a non-believer or a hypocrite will say to the angels, 'I do not know, but I used to say what the people used to say! It will be said to him, 'neither did you know nor did you take the guidance (by reciting the Qur'aan).' Then he will be hit with an iron hammer between his ears, and he will cry and that cry will be heard by whatever approaches him except human beings and jinns." [Bukhari]
Al-Baraa b. 'Azib said: We went out with the Prophet of Allaah (SAW) accompanying the bier of a man of the Ansar. When he reached his grave, it was not yet dug. So the Prophet of Allaah (SAW) sat down and we also sat down around him as if birds were over our heads. He had in his hand a stick by which he was scratching the ground. He then raised his head and said: Seek refuge in Allaah from the punishment of the grave. He said it twice or thrice. The version of Jarir adds here: He hears the beat of their sandals when they go back, and at that moment he asked: O so and so! Who is your Lord, what is your religion, and who is your Prophet? Hannad's version has: Two angels will come to him, make him sit up, and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: My Lord is Allaah. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will reply: My religion is Islaam. They will ask him: What is your opinion about the man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: He is the Apostle of Allaah. They will ask: Who made you aware of this? He will reply: I read Allaah's Book, believed in it, and considered it true, which is verified by Allaah's word: "Allaah establishes those who believe with the word that stands firm in this world and the next." The agreed version goes: Then a crier will call from the heaven: My servant has spoken the truth, so spread a bed for him from Paradise, clothe him in Paradise, and open a door for him into Paradise. So some of its air and perfume will come to him, and a space will be made for him as far as the eye can see. He also mentioned the death of the infidel, saying: His spirit will be restored to his body, two angels will come to him, make him sit up and ask him: Who is your Lord? He will reply: Alas, alas! I do not know. They will ask him: What is your religion? He will reply: Alas, alas! I do not know. They will ask: Who is this man who was sent on a mission among you? He will reply: Alas, alas! I do not know. Then a crier will call from the heaven: He has lied, so spread a bed for him from Hell, clothe him from Hell and open for him a door into Hell. Then some of its heat and pestilential wind will come to him, and his grave will become restricted, so his ribs will be pressed together. Jarir's version adds: One who is blind and dumb will then be placed in charge of him, having a sledge hammer such that if a mountain were struck with it, it would become dust. He will give him a blow with it which will be heard by everything between the east and the west except by men and jinn, and he will become dust. Then his spirit will be restored to him. [Ahmad]
The Messenger of Allaah (SAW) said, "...the righteous man sits in his grave and is not alarmed or afraid, then it is said to him (by angels): 'In (what state) were you?' So he says: 'In the (state of) Islaam.' So it is said to him: 'What is this man?' So he says: 'Muhammad the Messenger of Allaah who came to us with clear signs from Allaah, so we believed that.' Then it is said to him: 'Have you seen Allaah?' So he says: 'It does not behove any man that he sees Allaah.' So an opening is made for him in the direction of the Fire, so he sees it, some parts of it smashing into others, and it is said to him: 'Look at what Allaah, the Exalted, has saved you from.' Then an opening is made for him in the direction of Paradise, and he looks to its brilliance and what is therein and it is said to him: 'This is your place.' And it is said to him: 'You were upon certain Faith and died upon it and upon it you will be raised up, if Allaah wills.' And the wicked man sits in his grave alarmed and terrified and so it is said to him: 'In what state were you?' So he says: 'I do not know.' So it is said to him: 'Who is this man?' So he says: 'I heard the people saying something so I said it!' So an opening is made for him in the direction of Paradise and he sees its brilliance and what is therein, and it is said to him: 'Look at what Allaah has refused you.' Then an opening is made for him in the direction of the Fire, so he sees it crashing against itself and it is said: 'This is your place, you lived upon doubt and died upon it and you will be raised up upon it, if it is Allaah's will." [Ibn Maajah]
The Messenger of Allaah (SAW) said, "Everyone who dies - then his actions are sealed except for the one guarding the border in the way of Allaah - his actions continue to increase for him until the Day of Resurrection and he is saved from the trials of the Grave." [Abu Dawud & Tirmidhi]

Doubts of Non Muslims| Why is a Man allowed to Marry 4 Wives in Islam? Dr Zakir Naik
Polygamy
Q. Why is a man allowed to marry more than one wife in Islam? Or why is polygamy allowed in Islam?
Answer:
1. Definition of Polygamy Polygamy means a system of marriage whereby one person has more than one spouse. Polygamy can be of two types. One is polygyny where a man marries more than one woman, and the other is polyandry, where a woman marries more than one man. In Islam, limited polygyny is permitted and polyandry is completely prohibited. Now coming to the original question, why is a man allowed to have more than one wife?
2. Qur'an is the only religious scripture in the world that says 'marry only one' Qur'an is the only religious book, on the face of this earth, that contains the phrase 'marry only one'. There is no other religious book that instructs men to have only one wife. In none of the religious scriptures like the Vedas, the Ramayan, the Mahabharat, the Geeta or the Bible does one find a restriction on the number of wives. According to these scriptures one can marry as many as one wishes. It was only later, that the Hindu priests and the Christian Church restricted the number of wives to one.
Many Hindu religious personalities, according to their scriptures, had multiple wives. King Dashrat, the father of Rama, had more than one wife. Krishna had several wives. In earlier times, Christian men were permitted as many wives as they wished, since the Bible puts no restriction on the number of wives. It was only a couple of centuries ago that the Church restricted the number of wives to one.
Polygyny is permitted in Judaism. According to Talmudic law, Abraham had 2 wives, and Solomon had hundreds of wives. The practice of polygyny continued till Rabbi Gershom ben Yehudah. (960 A.D to 1030 A.D) issued an edict against it. The Jewish Sephardic communities living in Muslim countries continued the practice till as late as 1950, when an Act of the chief Rabbinate of Israel extended the ban on marrying more than one wife.
3. Hindus are more polygamous than Muslims The report of the 'Committee of The Status of Woman in Islam', published in 1975 mentions on page numbers 66,67 that the percentage of polygamous marriages between the year 1951 -1961 was 5.06 among the Hindus and only 4.31 among the Muslims. According to Indian law only Muslim men are permitted to have more than one wife. It is illegal for any non-Muslim in India to have more than one wife. Despite it being illegal, Hindus have more multiple wives as compared to the Muslim. One can imagine what would have been the percentage of polygamous marriages among the Hindus if the Indian government had made it legal for them. Earlier, there was no restriction even on Hindu men with respect to the number of wives allowed. It was only in 1954, when the Hindu Marriage Act was passed that it became illegal for a Hindu to have more than one wife. At present it is the Indian Law that restricts a Hindu man from having more than one wife and not the Hindu scriptures. Let us now analyse why Islam allows a man to have more than one wife.
4. Qur'an permits limited polygyny As I mentioned earlier, Qur'an is the only religious book on the face of the earth that says 'marry only one'. The context of this phrase is the following verse from Surah Nisa of the Glorious Qur'an: 'Marry woman of your choice in twos' threes' or fours' but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly, (with them), then only one' [Al-Qur'an 4:3]
Before the Qur'an was revealed, there was no upper limit for polygyny and many men had scores of wives, some even hundreds. Islam put an upper limit of four wives. Islam gives a man permission to marry two, three or four women, only on the condition that he deals with them justly. In the same chapter i.e. Surah Nisa verse 129 says: 'It is very difficult to be just and fair between women'. [Al-Qur'an (4:129)]
Therefore polygyny is not a rule but an exception. Many people are under the misconception that it is compulsory for a Muslim man to marry more than one wife.
Broadly, Islam has five categories of Do's and Dont's.
(i) 'Farz' i.e compulsory
(ii) 'Mustahab' i.e recommended or encouraged
(iii) 'Mubah' i.e permissible
(iv) 'Makruh' i.e 'not recommended' or discouraged
(v) 'Haram' i.e prohibited or forbidden
Polygyny falls in the middle category of things that are permissible. It cannot be said that a Muslim who has two, three or four wives is a better Muslim as compared to a Muslim who has only one wife.
5. Average life span of females is more than that of males By nature males and females are born in approximately the same ratio. During paediatric age however, in childhood itself a female child has more immunity than a male child. A female child can fight the germs and diseases better than the male child. For this reason, there are more deaths among males as compared to the females during paediatric age.
During wars, there are more men killed as compared to women. More men die due to accidents and diseases than women. The average life span of females is more than that of males, and at any given time one finds more widows in the world than widowers.
6. India has more male population than female due to female foeticide and infanticide. India is one of the few countries, along with the other neighbouring countries, in which the female population is less than the male population. The reason lies in the high rate of female infanticide in India, and the fact that more than one million female foetuses are aborted every year in this country, after they are identified as females. If this evil practice is stopped, then India too will have more females as compared to males.
7. World female population is more than male population In the USA, women outnumber men by 7.8 million. New York alone has one million more females as compared to the number of males, and of the male population of New York one-third are gays i.e sodomites. The USA as a whole has more than twenty-five million gays. This means that these people do not wish to marry women. Great Britain has four million more females as compared to males. Germany has five million more females as compared to males. Russia has nine million more females than males. God alone knows how many million more females there are in the whole world as compared to males.
8. Restricting each and every man to have only one wife is not practical Even if every man got married to one woman, there would still be more than thirty million more females in USA who would not be able to get husbands (considering that America has twenty five million gays). There would be more than four million females in Great Britain 5 million females in Germany and nine million females in Russia alone who would not be able to find a husband.
Suppose my sister happens to be one of the unmarried women living in USA, or suppose your sister happens to be one of the unmarried women in USA. The only two options remaining for her are that she either marries a man who already has a wife or becomes public property. There is no other option. I have posed this question to hundreds of non-Muslims and all opted for the first. However a few smart people before accepting, said they would prefer their sisters to remain virgins. Biologically, it is not possible for an average man or a woman to remain celibate throughout life. It may be possible in exceptional cases of one in ten thousand. In the vast majority, the person either gets married or performs illicit sex or indulges in other sexual perversions. Sex hormones are released in the adult body every day. That is the reason why Islam has prohibited monasticism.
In Western society it is common for a man to have mistresses and/or multiple extra-marital affairs, in which case, the woman leads a disgraceful, unprotected life. The same society, however, cannot accept a man having more than one wife, in which women retain their honourable, dignified position in society and lead a protected life.
Thus the only two options before a woman who cannot find a husband is to marry a married man or to become public property. Islam prefers giving women the honourable position by permitting the first option and disallowing the second. There are several other reasons, why Islam has permitted limited polygyny, but it is mainly to protect the modesty of women.
