7 Practical Content Marketing Tips
Seven practical content marketing tips. Content is one of the key aspects for SEO. And as they say, content is key. And in theory, if you have a lot of it, it creates more opportunities for you to rank well. Because like I said, "in theory." Let's go over practical tips that'll help your content perform better.

Tip number one, content isn't king, but fresh content is king. If you write content and you rank really well, and really high up on Google, don't expect it to last forever. If you write content and you rank really, really high in Google, don't expect it to last unless you keep your content fresh like Wikipedia. If you can continually keep your content fresh and update it, and not by just a few words or pictures, but instead, continually really improving and making it the best user experience out there, you're going to have a better chance of improving your rankings and staying up there in the long run.
Tip two, content shouldn't be written for search engines. And writing content for users isn't enough either. It has nothing to do with rankings or traffic. So the best solution, write content that converts and adjust your content to also talk about your products, your services, and blend them in when it make sense. This way, you can get traffic and revenue.
Tip three, a picture still says a thousand words. Even if search engines prefer text over visual images, from infographics to animated GIFs, you'll want to use images that convey your message when possible. It drives way more engagement and back links, both from a social media perspective and a SEO perspective.
Tip four, if you don't have something new to say, figure out something else to say. Just think about it this way, there are over 1.2 billion results for the term auto insurance in the United States. You either need to say new stuff to talk about, or you need to showcase the information in a different way such as a visual infographic to make it stand out. You can also use tools like AnswerThePublic to find new topics that people are interested in that are up and coming, so you can also create getting content on that instead of regurgitating the same old information over and over again.
Tip five, spend more time promoting your content than writing it. Follow the 80/20 rule. If it takes you two hours to write a piece of content, spend eight hours promoting it. Now it doesn't have to be exactly that way, but you get my point, spend more time promoting the content than writing it. Content marketing is competitive so focus on unique ways to promote whatever you produce. I leverage email marketing push notifications and social media as my main strategies for promoting my content.
And speaking of emails, this gets me into tip six, don't forget to collect emails. The easiest way to get more engagement on your content is by sending out email blast. Whether you're collecting emails from a link tree, tools like that, or exit popups, or even content upgrades, you need to collect more emails, and don't rely on one email collection method, use as many as possible as it adds up.
Tip seven, I want you to repurpose your content so you don't get burned out. You aren't just using content for your blog, you're also using it for social media or even podcasting. It's too much work to create content that's unique for each channel, so repurpose. I tend to create video content first and then I take what's popular turn into blog posts, podcasts. I even create, you know, infographic space off of that. And then sometimes I even take the videos and slice and dice it, and use it as Reels or quotes. And if I have good quotes, I'll capture them as images and post them up on social media as well. And this helps getting the most amount of brand awareness and traffic by just doing something simple, repurpose your content.

My Favorite Type of Marketing
My favorite type of marketing. If you had to guess, what do you think my favorite type of marketing is? Come on, take a guess. Maybe SEO, PPC, creating social content, email marketing, push notifications, or is it podcasting?

Believe it or not, it's in person events. I found nothing beats seeing and meeting people directly in person. Why? Because you build a deeper connection. You'll find that deals also happen faster when you do them in person.
But there are a lot of type of in-person events that you can go to. From conferences to meetups to local city events and the list goes on and on. I found that the most effective in-person events tend to be conferences that are ideally around your industry that have your ideal customers. And if you want to get the most out of these events, you need to be a speaker.
See, speaking puts you in a different light. And if you give amazing talk, people come up to you after and they'll want to work with you. It's a great source for generating revenue because when people come up to you, you'll find out that it's easier to close a deal. On top of that, when I go to these in-person events I like to hold workshops after my speech.
For example, we were at the Collision conference that I was in Toronto where I spoke and we had an in-person workshop and we had people from our team walking around, meeting with clients and even potential clients. I wish we also had a booth, but we weren't able to make that work.
Also, if you speak at events, instead of charging for speaking that some events pay, you can trade that money for a booth space and also advertising perks which gets your brand out there more and it produces a much better ROI than charging for speeches.
Now, just like any form of marketing, you can't rely on just one channel such as in person events. You have to take an omnichannel approach. What's great is when you partake on social media, blogging, podcasting, even SEO and all the other channels, you'll find that they help each other out. I learned this from Expedia.
A few years ago, I was up in Canada at one of their offices and I was talking to one of their team members. And Expedia is an old company. They've been publicly traded for ages now. They're a multi-billion dollar organization. And their team shed some light on a marketing set that shocked me. When Expedia takes an omnichannel approach, they find that their customer acquisition costs for all channels go down by roughly 10% because people are continually seeing their brand or hearing about them.
What's funny about this is people already know what Expedia is. They were founded in 1996. So most people in the travel industry or who travel already know about them or at least have heard of one of their brands like hotels.com, but still by taking an omnichannel approach, their costs have gone down.
So even though I love conferences, I don't rely on them as my sole marketing channel. Take an omnichannel approach just like Expedia and it'll help all your channels do better.

7 Underrated Marketing Lessons
Seven underrated marketing lessons. I've been doing marketing for over 20 years and I've learned a lot of lessons in that time. Some of the lessons are obvious and others are not so much. What's funny is the lessons that most people don't think are important, in other words, the underrated ones, are usually the ones that matter a lot. Here are seven lessons that you shouldn't take for granted like I did. In other words, don't make the mistake I did.
RESOURCES & LINKS:
____________________________________________
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________
Lesson number one, it's easier to market in a big town. My first few companies struggled to get really big. It wasn't the marketing that was the issue, it was that the market was too small. TAM stands for Total Addressable Market. It's hard to market your company in a small market, even with no competition, because there isn't that much revenue to be had and marketing still costs money.
On the flip side, if you go after a massive market, even if you capture a really, really tiny fraction of a percent, you can create a massive company. Just make sure the market that you're marketing in is really big. Ideally, a 100 plus billion dollar industry, if not a multi-trillion dollar industry.
Lesson two, all good channels eventually get crowded and competitive. It doesn't matter how well you are doing from one marketing channel, eventually, it just won't perform as well because the algorithms won't help you out. You just have to come to terms with that. It doesn't mean that you shouldn't leverage it, and it doesn't mean that you should give up. It just means that you need to go after all the main channels out there.
Lesson three, branding is everything. When you think about sports shoes, what brand comes to mind? Probably Nike. People buy based on brands. The way you build brands is by being in business long enough and taking an omnichannel approach.
So you got to be patient. Sure, you still need to do marketing, but you got to be patient, because over time, your brand will generate a lot of your revenue for you.
Lesson four, jump on new channels early. Always thought that if you have money, you can just be a late adopter when it comes to marketing? It is true, but it's expensive and money doesn't always buy your way to the top. You ideally want to join new platforms right when they come out.
Sure, you may end up wasting time on a platform that may go nowhere like Clubhouse, but it's okay, it's a numbers game. By being early, it gives you a huge leg up and one that money usually can't buy later on.
Lesson five, marketing gets better over time. I can't stress how important it is to be patient. I remember when I started doing business, I wanted results right away, then I started consulting with other companies and a lot of them wanted results right away. But marketing is all about taking small, incremental steps and just chipping away at the problem.
Eventually, you can get to where you want to be, but it won't happen overnight. And if you aren't patient and you don't do it for many years, I'm talking about five, 10 plus years, you won't build a company that you want.
Lesson six, traffic isn't everything. I remember one of my early companies, Kissmetrics, we had 10 times more traffic than our competition Mixpanel. Our valuation at the time was way less than 50 million bucks.
On the flip side, our competition had a valuation of roughly $800 million. It just goes to show that traffic isn't everything. The question you have to ask yourself is, do you have the right traffic? Are you converting them well enough? Is your product or service amazing? Because if it isn't, then it won't matter. Yes, you want more traffic, but don't obsess as it isn't everything.
Lesson seven, the best form of marketing is product marketing. It is easier to market by creating a great product or amazing service. Taking the route of marketing through paid ads, SEO, email, social media, and even content is great, but what is even better is having an amazing product or service. You can't market crap. Excuse my language.
See, because when you have a great product or service, it creates word of mouth marketing. That is way easier than just continually buying traffic and relying on it. That only gets you so far. It's not what most companies focus on. Instead, they look for the quick alternative, which is, "Hey, how many visitors can I buy?" And that's not the right way to do your marketing.

How to Drive More Sales from Instagram
How to drive more sales from Instagram. Did you know that Instagram has over a billion users according to Statista? Now just think about how many sales you are generating from Instagram. I bet you're generating a tiny amount of sales from Instagram, if not realistically, zero sales. So how do you change that? Well, you could use ads, but that's expensive. So what else is left? Well, there are a few strategies that you can use that work.
RESOURCES & LINKS:
____________________________________________
Linktree: https://linktr.ee/
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________
Tip one, use Linktree. Linktree is a tool that you can put in your bio on Instagram, and you can link to multiple products and services that you're selling. This is especially useful if you have more than one thing that you're trying to monetize and sell. Best of all, it doesn't cost any money to use and you can get it for free.
Tip two, tell your users to Swipe Up. When you create stories, make sure you create stories promoting whatever you sell and intertwine them with educational advice.
For example, I may be releasing three different stories on Instagram on SEO advice, my first tip could be around content, my second one around how to generate more links and my third tip around on page SEO. And you would want to give tactical advice on those tips.
Now, right after the third story, I would create a fourth one saying, Hey, if you just want me to do all this for you check out my ad agency, NP Digital. Swipe Up and we can end up helping you out. When you do this and a user swipes up it'll take them to your website and you can collect a lead or sell's on a product right then and there.
Tip three, sell going live. Have you heard of Tai Lopez? You know that here in my garage is a Lamborghini guy. And did you know that Tai owns companies like Dressbarn and Pier 1? If you live in the United States you've probably heard of at least Pier 1. They're a massive furniture company. How did he own those sites? Well, he would go live on social media, pitch people to be investor in his ventures and it worked.
Going live is a great opportunity for you to get in front of your followers and pitch them. The more educational your content is, the better you'll be. But don't forget to integrate that sales pitch. There is nothing wrong with selling and if you don't sell, you'll never generate any revenue. As my mom would always tell me as a little kid, if you never ask, you'll never receive.
Tip four, promote through a post. When you post on your wall why can't it be about your product or your service? Even if it doesn't get as many likes or comments, that's okay. There's nothing wrong with selling. And if you're offering a limited time promotion, you'll find that it'll do even better.
Just make sure your limited time promotions are really limited time instead of never ending promotions. We're really good at doing this for companies. And if you have any questions, leave a comment below. I'm here to help. If you enjoyed the video, like it, share it, tell people about it. Top 5 Favorite SEO Hacks
Top five favorite SEO hacks. To win, you have to think outside the box. If you just do what everyone else is doing, you won't win, that is especially true with SEO. Here are my five favorite SEO hacks that are out of the box.
RESOURCES & LINKS:
____________________________________________
calculator.net: https://www.calculator.net/
CodeCanyon: https://codecanyon.net/
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________
Hack one, buy websites. Have you noticed there blogs about everything? Well, as simple strategy for you to get immediate results is to look for a blog in your space. This shouldn't be hard, as there's over a billion blogs. Look for one that has good rankings and traffic, you can find out their traffic stats using tools like Ubersuggest. What you'll want is a blog that ranks really well within your space, has great content, but doesn't monetize through ads or selling products or services. And then what you want to do is merge that content over to your website, do 301 redirects, put them to the appropriate URLs when you're doing the 301 redirects, and what you'll find is you'll start getting instant rankings and traffic.
Hack number two, ranking number one on YouTube with SEO. So YouTube's algorithm is the opposite of how Google SEO works. If a video does really, really well in the first 24 hours, when it's released on YouTube, it's probably going to do well in the long run. So how do you get your videos to do well in the first 24 hours? Not through ads, because that takes too long to get up and running. Usually, by sending out an email blast. So when I release a video, I send out an email blast and even a push notification blast, within the first hour the video goes live, I let everyone know about it, I get tons of views, tons of engagements, and my YouTube views go through the roof, and my rankings shoot up.
Hack three, release tools. Have you heard of calculator.net? The site doesn't look amazing, but it has 6.2 million backlinks. Let me say that again, 6.2 million backlinks. "How?" You may ask, it's because they have calculators on everything. People love linking to calculators. If you release free tools that people want and they love, you will build links naturally, you won't even have to send out an email. It works that well. If you can't create these tools, you can just go to sites CodeCanyon, pop, buy the tools, pop the bubble on your website, and boom, you're off to the races.
Hack number four, respond to blog comments. This one is simple, and you probably are like, "Wait, this isn't really a hack, Neil." But let me explain why it's so valuable and it is a hack. Wikipedia is the seventh most popular site on the web, according to to Similarweb. You know how Wikipedia does so well on Google? They update their content on a regular basis.
Another way to also keep your content updated, and I wouldn't recommend that you not do the first, so you should still try to update your content at least once or twice a year, is you can also use blog comments. And when you use blog comments, what you'll find is that when people leave comments, and you respond to them, and you leave really thorough comments, people come back and keep leaving more comments.
This produces more content and in essence, you're updating those pages and making more and more valuable for Google, which helps with your rankings. And when you're leaving comments, don't just leave a thank you, make sure it's thoughtful, it's relevant, and it helps people out.
Hack five, use fewer key words, or at least for App Store SEO. So SEO doesn't just exist on Google, Apple App Store is extremely popular. No matter where you are, if you turn around and you see someone, chances are, someone has an iPhone, which means they also are on the App Store. But if you want to rank in the App Store, you shouldn't shove tons of keywords in your title, even description.
Most people don't know this, but the fewer keywords that use in your title or description in the App Store, the easier it is to rank for those terms. Just make sure that the keyword you pick or the keywords you pick are super popular.
It makes it way easier to rank and get higher rankings, versus going after too many keywords in the App Store, which makes it harder to rank.

7 Nifty Marketing Tactics to Deploy Now
Seven nifty marketing tactics to deploy now. You heard of all the standard marketing tactics like SEO and paid ads, or even using email marketing. But everyone's already doing that. And if you're not, you should make sure you do it. Check out my ad agency NP digital where we help with those tactics plus more. And there must be some new stuff that very few people are doing that work, right? Well, there is. Here's seven nifty marketing tactics that you need to deploy now.

Minichat: https://minichat.com/
TubeSift: https://www.tubesift.com/
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________
Tactic number one: Guest carousels, have you ever heard of Instagram carousels? They get crazy engagement. Just like this one. but have you thought about posting these kinds of carousels on other people's Instagram profiles? Not just yours, but other people's. It can get you more followers, more brand awareness and even sales. You have to try it out. It works extremely well.
And other users in many case would love for you to post on their profile, assuming the content's amazing. That's a key, amazing content because it's hard to keep making amazing content. So if you can make it and give it to others, they're like, wait, this is great. And there's a good chance they'll post it.
Tactic two: Drive traffic through backlinks using tools. One of the easiest ways to generate links is through tools. The Ubersuggest tool on the neilpatel.com site has over 24,000 unique backlinks. That's a lot. By giving away a free tool over time, you'll naturally generate links, assuming the tool's good. Now you don't have to build a custom tool like me. You can always use sites like Code Canyon to find tools within your industry and just put them on your website.
Tactic number three: Transfer your content from one social network to the next. We all talk about repurposing content but do you really do it? Take your winners from one social network onto the next. Your image posts that do well on Facebook should be used on other social networks. It's simple, but very few companies do it. And I'm not sure why, because they already spent the time and energy creating that content.
Tactic four: Use push notifications. People don't like giving out their email address or phone number. Sure you can still collect them. But a lot of people don't like giving them away. Doesn't mean that you shouldn't use email or SMS messaging. But, you shouldn't stop with those communication channels. Have you ever tried push notifications? Using simple tools like subscribers.com. People can subscribe to your website literally with one click. That's it.
Tactic five: Buying content to advertise on using TubeSift. YouTube is a great place to advertise on but finding videos to show your ad on is a pain. TubeSift makes it easier for marketers. You'll save time and it'll show you the best audiences and videos that you need to be targeted.
Tactic six: Use charts and data within your blog post. This is a no brainer, but for some reason people don't use it as much. When you write blog posts or create content make sure you use data and sets, even if you're citing other sources. I found that when I add stats and charts to my post I get roughly 32% more backlinks.
Tactic seven: Don't forget to follow up via text messaging. When I send out emails, I'm getting roughly 30% open rates. That's really, really good. That's better than 99% of marketers out there. But text messages have a much better read and click through rate. On average, when we use text, we find that we get 18% click through rate.
I'm not talking about open, I'm talking about click. 30% emails does not convert into 18% clicks on those emails. To give you an equal perspective, emails usually receive when I send them out, less than 4% click through rate. Typically it's closer to 2%. Collect phone numbers and follow up with your profits through SMS.
It works great and it helps you generate more sales. You just have to use it. And that's what most people don't do. But there's a lot of tools out there like Minichat that can help you do this and it'll make your life easier.

The Easiest Way to Make a WordPress Blog SEO Friendly
The easiest way to make a WordPress blog SEO-friendly. Believe it or not, WordPress is pretty SEO-friendly out of the box. If you want to make it more SEO-friendly, you just have to use plugins like Yoast SEO or All In One. But you already know that. Here's what no one tells you. The main reason most blogs aren't SEO-friendly are for two reasons, and you can't solve these issues through plugins.
RESOURCES & LINKS:
____________________________________________
Yoast SEO: https://yoast.com/wordpress/plugins/seo/
Google Analytics: https://analytics.google.com/analytics/web/provision/#/provision
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________
The first reason is you have too much content on the same topic. See, when you blog, over time, you'll have writer's block, or you have forgotten what you've written on before. That can cause you to write on the same topic over and over again accidentally.
For example, I may have written a post in the past called The Beginners Guide to SEO. And then, a year later, write a post on How to Get Started with SEO. And then, six months later, I may write a post called Seven SEO Tips for Beginners. Although each of those posts are different, a lot of times, Google will see them as roughly the same thing, because they're all about SEO for beginners. And that can cause confusion with search engines. And Google won't know which term or which post to more so rank for terms like SEO for beginners.
So, what you'll want to do is combine the post that are all around similar keywords and put them into one amazing post. This will increase your overall rankings and confuse search engines less. And the key with this is when you have that issue, go to Google Analytics, see which of the pages is the most popular and combine the other pages into the most popular one. And then do 301 redirects, and make sure you adjust the internal links that have gone to the old post and update them to go to the new post.
The second reason your WordPress blog isn't as search-engine-friendly is because your content is old and outdated. Did you know that Wikipedia is the seventh most popular site in the world, according to Similarweb? Do you know how they pull that off? Well, their content is continually updated. People keep updating Wikipedia on a daily basis.
Heck, some of their most popular pages are even also updated on a daily basis. And some content pieces, especially when there's new news, get updated multiple times within the hour. It's super effective. With most blogs, people write content, they never update them. We find this out with our agency, NP Digital. When we talk to clients, 98% of our clients that work with us, before they even started, never update their old content.
Now, of course, once they start working with us, we change that, and we start updating their old content. You want to do this at least once a year, ideally more than that. And this is an easy way to start generating more traffic.
And you're probably wondering, "Neil, what old posts do I update? Do I need to update them by a lot, a little?" Well, the easiest way to figure out what posts need updating first is to look at Google Search Console, and you can see what pages have dropped in traffic over time. Those are the ones that need updating first.
Now, when you update them, you want to look at what are the other competing webpages and blogs that rank above me for the terms that I lost ranking score. Google them, look at their pages, and see how you can make yours better.
Now, the two above reasons, aren't hard to fix, they just take time. But the time aspect is why most blogs aren't SEO-friendly. They prefer a quick plugin to fix their problems. But not all plugins can fix everything, sometimes you just need a little bit of human capital.
So put in the time and effort, and your blog will be more SEO-friendly. Or if you want my team to just do this for you, go check out npdigital.com, where we can handle all your SEO needs for you. What Jimmy Fallon and James Corden taught me about marketing
What Jimmy Fallon and James Corden, taught me about marketing. Have you ever watched James Corden' late night show, or Jimmy Fallon's? Well, they both have something in common. Can you guess what it is? Well, leave a comment below, letting me know what you think it is. And just think about it for a minute. All right. Are you ready to know?

____________________________________________
Well, they both produce entertaining content. That content tends to go viral. Why? Because people like being entertained, by mind-numbing content. And I'm not trying to talk trash, I love their content. Heck, I'm a regular watcher.
Now I'm not saying, that you should create entertaining content, just for the sake of views. But you should generate content, that's related to your ideal customer, and the products and services that you offer. And at the same time, mix in entertainment that makes sense, and is related to your content, so that it'll do better. It sounds cheesy, but it works.
Just think about the type of content, that you spend most of your time consuming. I'm on Instagram all the time. I watch people shuffling. I watch them doing funny stuff and pranks. Now for me, if I'm doing marketing, a lot of times I'll integrate experimentation in there. Just like how a lot of times, people watch science experiments on Instagram, right? Like where they're watching people like, oh, what happens when you put Mentos into Coke, right? That's an example of experimentation.
So a lot of times with my marketing, I'll try to bring in experiments, because it makes it more entertaining. Or sometimes, from Instagram and TikTok, I learned that people slide in, different screens and animations, to make the videos more attention grabbing, so people continue watching the rest of the video. I've taken those concepts and I've added to my videos. All these things work.
So learn from some of the most entertaining content, out there. It'll give you ideas on how to make your content better. If you need help with your social media content, or just your content in general, check out my ad agency, NP Digital.

My 7 Favorite Social Media Tools (That Are Free)
My seven favorite social media tools that are free. Do you know what the second, third, fourth and fifth most popular website have in common in this world? Let me give you a hint. It's YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. What they all have in common is they're all social websites. Social media is popular.
So, how can you leverage it to get more traffic to your website? Sure, you can hire people to help you out but you may not have that option because it costs money. On the flip side, there are a lot of free tools that you can use that can help you out. And if you leverage them, you'll get more social media traffic. Here are seven free social media tools that you have to check out.

ManyChat: https://try.manychat.com/
Hootsuite: https://www.hootsuite.com/
Exploding Topics: https://explodingtopics.com/
MailChimp: https://mailchimp.com/
Linktree: https://linktr.ee/
Canva: https://www.canva.com/
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________
Tool number one, Social Blade. Social Blade is a free analytics tool. Type in anyone's username and you can see their social stats for any of their social profiles. Here's my social stats for YouTube. The reason I like Social Blade is you can see the daily subscriber growth. When you see a pop, look for the content that was posted on that date. It'll give you insights into the type of content people love that your competition is posting on.
Tool number 2, ManyChat. With social media, you never know what the algorithms are going to do. It's tough to continue to get traffic from these social sites. Using tools like ManyChat, you can keep communicating with your subscribers, especially through Facebook messenger, Instagram direct messages and SMS.
Tool number 3, Hootsuite. There are tons of social platforms out there, and it's hard to keep up with all of them. Using Hootsuite, you can easily post to all the social platforms using that one simple tool. Their free plan allows you to easily manage two platforms and sadly, you got to pay when you want to manage more. This way you can consistently post on all the main social platforms that you're trying to leverage.
Tool 4, Exploding Topics. If you haven't checked out Exploding Topics, make sure you do so. It's a tool by my friend, Brian Dean. It allows you to see what's exploding on the web right now, especially on the social web. If you create content around those topics, you'll find others are interested in it and you'll gain more likes and even more followers. But be careful, as you need to make sure that the content you create around these exploding topics needs to be relevant to your overall social profiles.
Tool 5, MailChimp. You're probably wondering how the heck is an email tool like MailChimp related to social media. Well, have you ever heard this saying that the money's in the list. When you have all these social followers on social media, you need them to join your list. And the easy way to do so is to get them to opt into your email list.
So by using tools like MailChimp, you'll be able to more likely stay in touch with your audience. This is important because social algorithms keep changing and it's hard and harder to make sure that your followers see your content.
Tool 6, Linktree. Have you noticed that it isn't easy to monetize your social following? A lot of that is because you can't really promote all your products and services. But by using Linktree, you can have one link that you push them to from your social bios, from these platforms and they can pick the services and the offerings that you have and pick which one's right for them. It's a great way to let your followers pick their own journey and figure out, where and how you want to engage with them.
Tool 7, Canva. Social media is visual. People want to engage with beautiful content that is readable and ideally unique. Through Canva, you can create tones of social content on almost anything. From adjusting images to even video, to even creating, let's say carousel that you would post on, let's say Instagram, Canva can literally do almost anything and best of all, it's free. heck! You can even use it to create infographics.

7 Actionable SEO Tips That Are Easy to Implement
Do you want to know why it takes so long for people to see results from their SEO? Well, there are two main reasons. The first is, it just takes time for things to kick in and algorithms to adjust. You can't really control that, that's just Google, right? You can't really speed that up, time is time, they're going to do their thing when they do their thing.
But there's another reason why it takes people a long time to get results, and this one is more in your control. It's that it takes time to implement those SEO changes. And most companies move really slow to make changes on their site and the longer it takes you to implement the changes, the longer it'll take for you to see results. So today I want to break down seven tips that are easy to implement.
RESOURCES & LINKS:

Google Search Console: https://search.google.com/search-console/about
Exploding Topics: https://explodingtopics.com/
hunter.io: https://hunter.io/
CodeCanyon: https://codecanyon.net/
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________
Tip number one, everyone has SEO errors. It's natural because as you adjust your existing pages, or even add new ones, it can always create more errors. So I want you to head to neilpatel.com/ubersuggest. Type in your URL. In the left hand navigation, click on "dashboard" and then click on "add your first project." Follow the steps, step-by-step.
What you'll find is Ubersuggest will monitor your site, look at the keywords you want to rank for, look at all the SEO errors you have on your website, but here's the thing that Ubersuggest does that I love. What it does is, it breaks the errors down from top to bottom, what will have the biggest impact and what's the easiest to implement? So you want to fix the easy ones first, because they're at the top and they'll also have a bigger impact on your rankings. And that way you'll get better results in a shorter period of time.
Tip number two, speaking of Ubersuggest, it's also a tool that I added to my own website, neilpatel.com, and I want you to do something similar. It's so popular that's generated over 24,000 backlinks. That's a lot! That's a lot of extra links that I'm adding to neilpatel.com and it was so effective, I also bought AnswerThePublic and I'm going to integrate that into our portfolio over the up and coming months. Links are popular currency. The more people that link to you, the generally the higher you will rank.
Tip number three, use Google Search Console. It's a free tool from Google. Log into it and add your website if you already haven't done so. In Search Console, I want you to look at your traffic.
Tip number four, delete irrelevant pages that no one cares for anymore. See, over time, some of the content on your site will just get old and irrelevant. I'm not talking about outdated. I just mean straight up irrelevant.
Easiest solution, delete those pages and 301 Redirect them to the most relevant pages that are on your website. This will help you keep your site clean and strong from an SEO standpoint.
Tip number five, write on exploding topics. One of the best ways to get traffic, is to write on topics that are just about to get super popular, but aren't that competitive yet. There's a tool called exploding topics. It shows you what you should consider going after. And I want you to start writing content on that.
Tip number six, now, this is an easy one, but it costs money. Have you noticed there are a lot of blogs out there? There's pretty much blogs on everything. Look for one that's ranking great in your space and has traffic.
You want to take that blog, hit up the site owner, you can usually find their email on the contact page or through tools like hunter.io, and ask them if they want to sell it. Most people will ignore you, some will say yes. If you find some at reasonable prices, buy them, merge it into your website, including their content, and make sure you do the 301 Redirect to the appropriate URL, and once you do that, it's simple.
Tip number seven, merge content on similar pages. For example, I may have two blog posts on the topic of SEO for beginners. Now this confuses search engines, as they don't know which one to rank. So what do you do? You merge the pages together. Then you take the URL with less traffic and forward it using a 301 Redirect to the more popular page. This helps solves confusion for the search engines. And in the end, you'll get more search traffic over time.

NP Digital interview Forrester’s Performance Marketing Specialist
Hey there, welcome to this special keynote conversation at NP Digital's Virtual Summit 2022. You know, according to a Forrester Survey earlier this year, brands are funneling more dollars into performance channels in pursuit of maximum return in advertising spend.
In fact, more than 60% of B2C marketing decision makers plan to increase their paid media investments in performance channels, such as search, social, and video.
Now, that's great news for the performance marketing industry, but it should also be noted that the way consumers buy is changing.
So what's a hybrid consumer? And should performance marketing and brand marketing be fused together? Where is the industry generally going? Well, I'm sure that my special guest has answers to these questions and many more, so let's do this.

How to Get 1,000 Followers a Week on Instagram Organically
How to get 1,000 followers a week on Instagram, organically? Whether you love Meta as a company or hate them, you can deny Instagram's popularity. According to Statista, there are over 1 billion Instagram users. This means, as a marketer, it's a great place to get in touch with your ideal customers. But here's the thing. If no one follows you, it'll be tough to get engagement or even reach your ideal customer. Which means, you would just be posting content, and little to no one would be seeing it. So let's solve that today. I will break down how to get 1,000 new Instagram followers each week. And best of all, it'll be organically, which means you won't be spending money to get those followers.
RESOURCES & LINKS:

Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________
First off, I want you to post at least once a day. If you don't post often enough, you won't have the opportunity to gain new followers. Now, each post shouldn't be the same. You can try images, videos, quotes, memes, reels, even a carousel, or even try stories.
And don't create content purely for followers. Even though that's a goal, not just for this video but also for you, you have to keep in mind another goal. Which is you need to create content that both that would ideally appeal to new people but also provides a ton of value that creates the right type of followers. So that way, you can end up generating sales. Remember, followers that don't end up converting don't really matter. You want followers to help you build a brand that converts people into customers.
Second, I want you to do live sessions at least once a week with other Instagram users. Don't go live by yourself. DM other Instagram users and ask them to be on an interview with you. By doing live, both on your profile and on their profile, you'll gain more followers. Start off small by going after accounts with less than 10,000 followers and work your way up as you get more followers.
Third, post carousels. You know what they look like. Those posts that have multiple slides and they provide amazing education, like this one. Do that at least once a week. And you won't necessarily get the most likes. But what I found is when I look at the analytics, those type of posts provide amazing engagement from people looking from slide one, slide two, slide three, leaving comments, and also following you. Which is great, because that's what you want, you want to engage audience.
Fourth, you need to engage with your audience. When someone DMS you, respond, when someone leaves a comment, respond. By engaging, you will get more followers.
Last but not least, leave comments on other people's profiles. By engaging with other social profiles in your space on Instagram, you'll get more followers. But make sure your comments are thoughtful and helpful. It requires effort on your part, but it works. It's not a lot of steps, but it works. And you will end up spending roughly six hours a week on Instagram to get these followers.
Now over time, you'll be able to fine tune things and make things more efficient and you should be able to get the results in roughly three to four hours. And if you're still struggling to get a lot of that content created, use tools like Canva, which provide a lot of templates, and they can help you out.

The Larger the TAM The Easier it is Market
The larger the TAM, the easier it is to market. Have you heard of the word TAM before? It stands for total addressable market. For example, the global healthcare market is a $2.5 trillion industry. That's massive. On the flip side, the web analytics market is roughly $10.7 billion and that's in 2026, according to Allied Market Research, and it's not even 2026 yet. The reason I bring up web analytics is few of my businesses were web analytics businesses in the past, and I wish that it went after much bigger markets.
RESOURCES & LINKS:
____________________________________________
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________
See, in the past, none of my businesses were really massive compared to what I ended up creating later on in my career as an entrepreneur. Why? Well, the biggest reason is, is I went after companies that were in really small markets at least when you compare it to markets like health insurance. This lesson took me roughly 15 years or so to fully understand.
And investors would always tell me is the market big enough? I'm like, yeah, it's a 10 plus billion dollar industry, but you're never going to gobble up the whole industry. You're only going to gobble up a fraction. Might as well go after a multi-trillion dollar industry and gobble up a small fraction. It's much easier to build a bigger company. And when I started out as an entrepreneur at the age of 16, I built companies that solved problems. These problems, in many cases, were related to the marketing niche, but there are only so many people, or companies, that needed these solutions. And the companies did well, and they made millions of dollars for myself.
But I wasn't able to build really massive multi-billion dollar companies from these markets. Why? Because the TAM was too small. Now, my ad agency, NP Digital, is one of the fastest growing companies I ever built. Technically it was the fastest growing company I ever built, and it was the 21st fastest growing company in America according to "Inc. Magazine."
Main reason is because the TAM for ad agencies is much larger than, let's say, web analytics. Heck, there's ad agencies, even single ad agencies, that are worth more than the whole web analytics market.
Now, if I had to go back in time, yes, I would've picked a bigger TAM. I'm not really sure what industry I would've go after, but I definitely would've picked a bigger TAM because it's easier to market in bigger markets. Yes. The bigger the market, the more competition you also have. But it's easier to build a company that has seven figures or even 10 plus million dollars in annual revenue when you're going after a massive TAM. Because it's just a fraction of percent that you'll need to do well.
Same thing with marketing, you don't always have to focus on search volume or cost per click. Instead, focus on TAM. You'll find that the bigger the TAM, the easier it is to market and to do well. That's what marketers forget about when they do the marketing. They focus too much on search volume, and conversion rates, and market research, versus just making sure the TAM is big enough.
Look, almost everyone in the United States needs health insurance. Heck, most people in the world need healthcare. That's an example of a big TAM.
Now, I'm not saying you need to go after a TAM that's that big, but that gives you idea of how big a market could potentially be. And you got to figure out all right, what's best for you?
Now, whether you have a small TAM or a big TAM, if you need help gobbling the majority of that market share, check out my ad agency, NP Digital. We were the performance marketing agency of the year because we provide amazing results. We can help you do better as well.

Why I Speak at Conferences for Free Now (Used to Charge $50k)
Why I speak at conferences for free now, when I used to charge over $50,000. I used to charge $50,000 for an hour speech within the United States, literally only a one-hour speech. Plus I'd make them pay for travel, like flights and hotels. Internationally I charge $100,000 for an hour speech.
RESOURCES & LINKS:
____________________________________________
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________
On top of that, all conferences pay for my accommodations, food, travel, hotel, first class flight, sometimes even private planes. To top it off, I used to do around 25 to 30 paid speaking gigs a year before COVID, and I still get a lot of requests even today. The number actually' hasn't dropped, it's gone up recently, but can you guess how many speaking gigs I charge for today? Well, I charge here and there, but I learned that making money from being a public speaker isn't bad, but it's not the best way to make money.
See, some of the best events in the world have speakers like Elon Musk and Bill Gates. And you can bet that they really don't care for money for speaking. Sure, I may charge 50 or 100 grand. They can probably command half a million, a million dollars, but they're so rich they don't care for a half a million or a million dollars. It doesn't really move the needle for them.
But here's the thing. The events that these billionaires and these well-known entrepreneurs speak at like Elon Musk and Bill Gates, they bring in an audience that typically has a higher net worth. So I started to apply for speaking spots at these particular events. Some of them were already requesting that I speak. They just wouldn't pay me in the past and they wouldn't offer speaking fees.
Some of them would pay for travel and flights. Some of them would even pay for that, but I'm like, "Nah." Why would I speak there? "I'm getting paid at these other events." But what I learned is by speaking at these events that people like Bill Gates and Elon Musk are invited to, and of course I'm not getting a premier stage like they are, but still, when I speak at these events the amount of business that I close skyrocketed.
While before I was just focused on events that would pay me the most amount of money, the majority of the time I would walk away from those events, well, still getting some good branding, but I would rarely close revenue. And when I closed revenue, it wasn't as much.
Now I don't get as much to speak when I go to these events, and in many cases I get paid literally nothing, but the business that I'm closing from these events far exceed what I'm generating from the speaking revenue.
The big lesson I learned is don't be shortsighted. Yes, there are many ways to make money, but don't focus on what's short run. Instead, focus on what's better for you in the long run and what's more sustainable for your business.
See, I wish I'd realized this 10 plus years ago when I started speaking and I started speaking for money, but it's too late to turn back the clock. Hopefully you don't make the same mistake as I did.
And if you want to avoid other marketing mistakes, check out my ad agency, NP Digital, where we help companies like yours grow. And if you enjoyed this video, like it, share it, tell people about it. And if you have any questions, leave a comment below.

SEO For Beginners - The Easiest Way to Build Links
SEO for beginners. The easiest way to build links. Links are the hardest factor to manipulate when it comes to SEO, and without them it's almost impossible to rank at the top of Google. But before I teach you the easiest way to build links, let me break down how they work.
RESOURCES & LINKS:
____________________________________________
Dribbble: https://dribbble.com/
CodeCanyon: https://codecanyon.net/
AnswerThePublic: https://answerthepublic.com/
Hunter.io: https://hunter.io/
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________
With SEO, there are two main factors: your on-page SEO and then your off-page SEO. Your off-page SEO is essentially links. It's other websites linking to you. The more websites that link to yours, the more, quote, unquote, votes your site is getting, which helps you rank higher.
Now, not all links are equal. Links from sites like New York Times or BBC are considered to be more authoritative and powerful than links from a random site that's just starting out. And links from well-known sites, like the ones I mentioned, are tougher to get, hence they help you more with SEO. So how do you get those links? Well, there are three ways.
One, create infographics. People love visual images that help explain what you're trying to convey. For example, here's an infographic that breaks down how fast a cheetah runs. How cool is that? It's animated. It moves. It's kind of like a GIF. That's a great way to represent information. People love linking to stuff like that. They tend to easily generate links because people love visual content that helps explain the message. And you can find a lot of these people who can help you create these infographics that are, quote, unquote, animated and very visual on site like Dribbble. And you can find a lot of designers to help you create them at very affordable prices.
Two, release free tools. Did you know that I bought a tool called AnswerThePublic. And before that, I bought a tool called Ubersuggest. Ubersuggest has roughly 25,446 unique backlinks. AnswerThePublic has roughly 24,390 unique backlinks. That's a lot of links. When you release a free tool, over time, people just naturally link to it. You don't got to do outreach. You don't got to hit a lot of people up. Literally, a lot of people just naturally link to it. Why? Because it's free.
Now, if you release something for free that everyone else has already released for free, harder to generate links. But if you release something for free that people are usually used to pay for, really easy to generate links, you don't really have to do much other than release it on your site and just be patient. And if you can't afford to build a unique tool, use CodeCanyon sites to find a tool that's good and put it on your own website.
Three, releasing tools or infographics or content isn't good enough. You have to beg for links. Not like ask. I'm talking about literally beg. In the Ubersuggest app, I want you to go to the Backlinks Opportunity report. You can find it in the sidebar by clicking on Backlinks and then Backlinks Opportunity. In this report, put in your URL and then put in two or three competitors. Ideally, three. It will show you all the people who link to your competitors, but not to you.
Just think of it this way. If someone links a handful of your competitors, but they don't link to you, it means that they don't really favor one competitor or another because they're linking to a lot of players in your space. So you want to hit them up.
See what pages they're linking to your competitor sites first, and you want to hit them up and say, alright, here's similar pages on my website, and here's why they're different, and here's why mine are better, and here's why you should link to me.
Email each of those sites, ask them to link to your webpage, explain again why you're providing more value than the competitors, and it'll cause you to get more links. And if your webpage isn't better than your competitors, go and adjust it, make it better than theirs, and then send off the emails.
Don't send off the emails if your pages aren't as good. And if you actually don't have any similar pages to your competitors that people are linking to, go and create them. But again, make sure it's better than the competitors. And if you can't find the email address of the site owners, use tools like Hunter.io which will give you their email address for free.

Why we Acquired Answer the Public
Why we acquired Answer The Public. I own an ad agency called NP Digital. We're one of the fastest growing companies, according to Inc Magazine, at the 21st spot. And we have over 700 employees globally. But in the grand scheme of things, we're a really, really, really really tiny company, if you compare us to Apple or Google, or even companies like ExxonMobil. We really are tiny. And a lot of those companies grow through a simple channel. Can you guess what it is? It's acquisitions.
RESOURCES & LINKS:

Answer The Public: https://answerthepublic.com/
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________
See, Google bought Nest for home thermostats, Google bought Waymo for their self-driving car division. Apple Beats by Dre, Facebook acquired Instagram, and the list goes on and on. In essence, large corporations buy companies, as it allows them to expand faster.
Now with Answer The Public, it has roughly 60% of the traffic as Ubersuggest, but it generates less than 10% of the revenue, as Ubersuggest. So right there, well we can fix that, and we should be able to 4 to 5x that number easy.
Now, of course we won't ruin the user experience, and we won't reduce the amount of free stuff that we offer. Actually, we're going to give you more stuff, in Answer The Public for free.
In other words, you're going to get more for free. You don't have to pay for it and you'll get more features. And by doing that, the product will become better and more popular over time. In addition to revenue, Ubersuggest drives roughly 30% of the customers, for my ad agency.
Answer The Public never tried selling to their leads. That is additional revenue stream there too. And Answer The Public, had zero people working on the product. When you're going from zero people to adding people, it's not hard to make something better.
In other words, we acquire the company, because we can make the product better, and give users more for free so they're happier. And collect more revenue through other offers, like offering people, like consulting, if they raise their hand and want it.
Of course we won't bombard them, we're not going to show popups with that stuff. It's more so, you keep the product as is, add more free features, and by doing that, it makes it more popular, and more people will end up paying for a premium version, and we may also generate some consulting revenue, from it as well.
Now, the point I'm breaking this all down in a video, because I don't have to share this, I can just talk about how we're giving away more stuff, for free, on Answer The Public, is because I want this to be educational. I want you to consider acquiring other companies, in your business, to grow. You don't have to just grow through marketing.

My Biggest Marketing Win
My biggest marketing win. If you had to guess, what do you think my biggest marketing win was? Leave a comment with what you think it is. I'll give you a hint. It involved SCL Social Media, Email Marketing, and even releasing a tool for free on my website.

Well, it's not a specific channel. It's actually leveraging all channels. In essence, my biggest win is using Omnichannel Marketing. See, I saw this from being in the marketing industry for over 20 years. Overtime platforms change. And as they change, sometimes you end up on the winning end, and a lot of times you end up on the losing end. In most cases, you'll end up on the losing end.
So what do you do? You leverage all the channels for what they are. You let them drive your traffic and brand awareness, as much as possible, and as for as long as possible. But the moment their algorithm changed and it doesn't favor you, of course try to adapt. You won't always get the results you want and that's okay. Just leverage them for as long as you humanly possibly can, and keep in mind, something is better than nothing.
I know, that's a cheesy answer on my biggest marketing win. I just focus on all the channels, because I knew over time, and I've seen it, no matter what channel you go after, the algorithms over time won't always favor you. So you have to be prepared for that.
Just look at some of the biggest companies Microsoft, Apple, IBM, Accenture, or even Airbnb. None of them generate all their sales human traffic from one channel. They all leverage as many as possible. It doesn't matter if one channel can't scale as well as another, or if one channel is as profitable as another channel, as long as you can get traffic and they're profitable, you keep doing them as long as possible. Take advantage of them. Don't nitpick. Just be happy that you found this other opportunity that will also provide you with more growth.
The more you add into your marketing mix the better off you'll be. It's a numbers game. Remember, no one marketing channel builds a company. In today's day and age, it's a number game.
Now, if you need help expanding your marketing channels, check out my ad agency, NP Digital. If you're on one or two, or even three marketing channels, that's your focus? you're making a big mistake and I've been there. And I've seen companies get slapped for this, but when you take that omnichannel approach you're going to be way better off, your business is going to be much more resilient, and you're going to continually grow over time.

How To Improve Communication With Your Customers
If you want to build a deeper relationship with your customers to help drive more sales, learn how to get started with Inbox in Meta Business Suite.
https://fb.me/MBS-learn-more
Disclaimer: This video is sponsored by Meta. All thoughts mentioned are my own.
A simple way to drive more sales from Instagram and Facebook. You get messages everywhere, from WhatsApp to even social networks. But let me ask you this, how often do you check your Facebook, your messenger, and even Instagram direct messages? It's a pain to log into every one of those apps and check them manually, right? Well, that was until now.
Today I'm going to break down how you can use inbox in Meta Business Suite to make your life so much more efficient. And before I dive into the tool, I want you to know that this video is sponsored by Meta. But I would've done it anyways as it's a great tool and feature.
Just a quick recap. Inbox in Meta Business Suite is a free tool that allows you to manage your Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram messages in one place. It helps you save time, responds faster to customers, and to help you drive more business outcomes. In sales, you heard of the saying that you want to respond to leads within five minutes of them coming out, if not sooner. Or according to Harvard Business Review, it can drastically impact your conversions. Sometimes up to 100 times. So speed is super important.
The same goes with responding to your messages that come through Instagram or Facebook. The quicker you respond, the more likely you are to generate sales. In essence, it helps you do three things.
First, you save time because you can communicate with everyone within Meta Business Suite without switching between apps.
Second, you'll have happier customers. No one wants to wait days for you to respond. So the faster you respond, the happier people will be.
Third, it helps drive more sales. Who doesn't want more revenue? This is probably the main reason we use inbox in Meta Business Suite. But if you want those results, I recommend doing a few things.
Step one, you have to use filters and labels. Labeling your contacts is a great way to highlight when you are chatting with a VIP customer to easily know where a customer is in their purchase journey. You can also quickly filter for priority or unread messages.
Step two, set up automated responses to save you time. You can easily tailor and save replies to common questions to respond more quickly. For example, with one tap, you can reply to your opening hours or return policy.
Step three, manage customer information as it'll help you close sales. You can add contact information, preferences, and free form notes to keep track of important customer details and customize your communication with customers.
Step four, drive more business outcomes within the thread. You can share products or book appointments directly in the message thread with your customers. This allows you to get to know them better, help them more, and build a deeper connection. This will help you generate more repeat purchases too.
And if your social profiles are new, you can always turn on ads to help encourage more communication. Or you can create posts with a click-to-message button. Or you can just set up a chat plugin on your website, which also helps.
If you want to learn more about getting started with Meta Business Suite, make sure you follow @Metaforbusiness for more tips and get started with Meta Business Suite by downloading the app or by going to business.facebook.com.

How to Create the Perfect Tweet Storm
How to create the perfect tweetstorm? Have you ever heard of tweetstorms before? With Twitter, your tweets are supposed to be short and to the point. With tweetstorms, you're replying to your own tweets and creating a string of tweets to encompass one overarching thought. Here's the example. I created a storm on tools you should use to help you with your SEO.
RESOURCES & LINKS:
____________________________________________
MxToolBox Domain Health Report: https://mxtoolbox.com/domain/
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
Google Search Console: https://search.google.com/search-console/about
____________________________________________
My first tweet was, to improve your Google ranking, you need to first understand where you stand. Here's a thread on my favorite tools that can help.
My second tweet was, Use Ubersuggest to check your site's keyword rankings. Type in your domain, and you'll see a list of keywords that you rank for organically. And then I went on to talk about how you can use Google PageSpeed Insights.
Then in the next tweet, I talked about MxToolBox Domain Health Report tool to check for major issues in five different categories: general site problems, blacklist, mail server, web server, and DNS. Then I tweeted about FE International's Website Penalty Indicator tool. And you can use that tool to check if you penalize by one of the major algorithm updates.
Lastly, I talked about Google Search Console and how it can show you how Google sees your website to some extent. Now, with this tweetstorm, in total, it contained six tweets. It had 72,556 impressions, 667 likes and 215 retweets. It had 72,556 impressions, 667 likes and 215 retweets. I used tweetstorms numerous times and here's what I learned if you want to create great tweetstorms that go viral.
Number one. You need to talk about a topic that peaks people's interests. You can use tools like Ubersuggest to see what's popular. Just type in a keyword or string words into Ubersuggest to see what's popular. Usually if something's popular, that means people want to learn about it. Hence if you tweet about it, chances are people will want to like it, share it or talk about it, assuming it's good. And if people want to learn about something, it will show up in Ubersuggest, as it breaks on what's popular, based on what people are looking for, and it's basing it off of Google searches.
Two. Your tweet storm needs to contain at least five tweets. I found that when you have at least five to 10 tweets, it tends to do well. You can add more. But having two or three tweets together, really isn't a tweetstorm.
Three. Include any stats and data points. Anything that you can show or provide that backs up your points that you're trying to make just brings more credibility. Plus people love retweeting stats.
Four. Be sure and concise. If it takes you five lines to get your point across, something's wrong. Each tweet in your tweetstorm needs to be impactful and be useful as a standalone tweet so people can retweet it and like it. If you follow those four steps, your tweetstorms will do well. Now, if you need help with your Twitter or even social media marketing, check out my ad agency, NP Digital. If you have any questions on tweetstorm, leave a comment below, I'm here to help. If you enjoyed the video, like it, share it, tell the people about it. Thank you very much.

7 Marketing Lessons Learned From Billion-Dollar Companies You’ve Never Heard Of
Seven marketing lessons learned from billion-dollar companies that you've never heard of. You've heard of TikTok. TikTok's one of the biggest companies in the world. It's owned by ByteDance, which does over $58 billion in revenue. You've heard of Facebook, Google, Apple, even Amazon, they're all multibillion-dollar companies, and some of them are even worth over a trillion dollars. But have you heard of Danaher? Probably not, but they generate over $29 billion a year in revenue. Have you heard Fortive? They generate $7 billion in revenue each year. Have you heard of Ceridian? They generate over $1 billion in revenue. Look, there are a lot of companies that generate over $1 billion dollars a year in revenue, and you've never heard of them.
RESOURCES & LINKS:

Fortive: https://www.fortive.com/
Ceridian: https://www.ceridian.com/
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________
So let's go over some marketing lessons learned from these multibillion-revenue-generating companies that you've never heard of.
Number one, it's easier to market multiple products than it is to market one product. See, big companies have multiple products, because it's hard to generate all that revenue from just selling one thing. Now, a common example that you're very familiar with is Apple. Apple has laptops, computers, phones, iPads, headphones, the list goes on and on. Now, if you look at companies like Fortive or Danaher or even Ceridian, they have multiple products, which makes it easier to add more revenue and it makes it easier on the marketing as well.
Two, it's easier to market an existing big market. Have you heard of the word "TAM"? It stands for "Total Addressable Market." For example, almost everyone in this world has a phone, or at least in America. According to PEW research, 97% of Americans have some type of mobile phone. So it's easier to market mobile phones because everyone has one or needs one or will want one.So make sure you're selling products and services that a lot of companies and people need. It makes it that much easier to market, as there'll be more people to market to, which creates more volume.
Three, the best marketing is word of mouth. It doesn't matter how much money you have to spend on marketing, nothing beats word of mouth. The only way to get that is to either create amazing products or services. And if you look at Fortive and Danaher and Ceridian, Ceridian's a great example of this. People love Ceridian's payroll because you can actually get paid out daily as an employee. That creates that virality, why? Because people love Ceridian's product.
Number four, ugly is sexy. Everyone wants to create a cool company like selling iPads, but who wants to create a payroll software company like Ceridian? Danaher, they have a water treatment company called ChemTreat. May not sound sexy, but hey, we all need water. A lot of the biggest companies out there solve big problems that are ugly and necessary. And those companies are easier to market because it's less competitive.
Five, the United States is not the center of the world. Yes, I live in America, and I've lived in other countries as well. And I'm not here to say one country is better than another, that's for a different debate and that's up for you to decide. You don't want to create a company that is just going after the US or just going after China or India or Brazil. You need to ideally create a global company because it gives you more people to target, which makes it easier on your marketing. So take your global marketing.
Six, your marketing is only as good as your team. It doesn't matter what you're selling or how good you are, marketing is a team effort. You need amazing people on your team who have done it before to do well. Look for people on LinkedIn who have worked for your competition and been promoted multiple times, as the chances are, if they've been promoted multiple times, that company found them to be good.
Number seven, you have to build a brand to do well in the long run. All big companies work on building a brand. You build a brand by not only building a good product or service, but by also being in a business for many, many years, ideally 10-plus. So you need to be patient. So what other marketing lessons have you learned from multibillion-dollar companies?

Here are the Types of Content Twitter Loves
Here are the types of content that Twitter loves. Twitter was one of the first social networks that I was really active on. I was really early on Twitter hence, I've been able to build up over 443,000 followers.
RESOURCES & LINKS:
____________________________________________
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________
And over the years, what I love about Twitter is that the algorithm doesn't try to suppress your content compared to what Facebook and some of the other social networks do. People follow you. You tweet. They can see it if they're on. If they're not on, they won't see it.
Throughout that time, I've experimented with a lot of content types on Twitter and I figured out the type of content that people on Twitter love versus the ones that they don't. But before I dive into those content types, let me know in the comments what you think people prefer the most. And also let me know what type of content you post most often on Twitter. So let's dive right into those content types.
Number one, questions. People love when you ask them questions on Twitter. Here's example: Would you rather have two plus million followers or a million dollars? What do you think that my audience said? Funny enough, I assume that most people would take a million bucks. because if you invested in the SMP, you're roughly generating 9% a year, you can live off that. But shockingly, my audience mainly said they would prefer 2 million followers. Now that tweet generated 107 retweets, 77 quote tweets, and 797 likes. In total, it received 167,000 impressions. If you're going to ask people questions on Twitter, make sure they're thought-provoking questions like the one I created.
Content type number two, live videos. Live videos don't generate as much engagement as questions, but I found them to be a great source of revenue. Every month I hold a webinar and I even go live on Twitter with that webinar. That webinar on conversion rate optimization that I just showed you had 84 retweets and 61 likes. Nowhere near the amount of engagement that the question one had. And it only has 90,308 impressions, which is around eight times less than the question one, but it generated me three leads and one customer. That's much more than the question one ever generated me.
Content type number three, tweet storms. By creating multiple tweets around a specific topic, such as the one I did on voice search here, you can get a lot of engagement. I started off by talking about how 62% of Americans have used some sort of voice assistant technology. Then I broke down the five ways. And the first tweet that I included in the tweet storm was optimize for local search. Many voice searches are for local information and there are three X more likely to be local searches than text-based ones. That tweet storm generated 24,563 impressions, 146 likes, 70 retweets, and four quote replies.
Number four, quotes. I love putting out quotes on Twitter because it's great branding, not for the reason that you're thinking. Here's the example of a quote: "You can't buy more time in this world so cherish every moment." It receives 69,693 impressions, 576 likes, and 194 retweets. But what I love about quote content isn't the Twitter love. It's actually the offline love. A lot of times people will take the quotes and quote you in other places.
For example, I've seen my quotes appear literally in elevators. Some elevators have monitors and it's kind of crazy, some of these monitors pull quotes from Twitter and I've seen mine appear. And again, crazy but great branding. If you ever want more Twitter love, consider creating one of these four content pieces that I mentioned above. They work.

Exposing My Social Media Strategy
Exposing my social media strategy. Marketing doesn't have to be complex. It just has to produce results. And over the years, I found a strategy that works really well for me.
RESOURCES & LINKS:
____________________________________________
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________
To give you idea, I have over 1 million YouTube followers. I have over 1 million Facebook followers. I have over 315,000 Instagram followers. I have over 440,000 LinkedIn followers. And I have over 430,000 Twitter followers. You get the point. What I'm doing is working.
And not really from a follower count perspective either, I know I mentioned my follower counts, but I don't try to make them grow. Instead, I focus on generating more leads and sales from social media, which has been working.
YouTube is now our third most popular channel when it comes to driving clients for my ad agency, NP Digital. That's how I measure success. It's actual revenue and money in the bank. And I figured out how to get these kind of results from social media marketing, following three simple rules, which worked when I started and still worked today even after all the algorithm changes.
Rule number one, post consistently. See, social media platforms don't guarantee that your followers are going to see your content. So when you post consistently, you're more likely to get your followers to see your content. In addition to that, there is no guarantee that your content does well. Some pieces may go viral, others won't. Some generate hundreds of comments, some generate thousands of likes, and others don't. In other words, it's a hit or miss game. The way you get more hits is like creating more content and posting it consistently. Plus, you need to learn from the misses so that way you create more hits. So make sure that you post content daily, literally daily, and you can do it even multiple times a day, but a safe bet is at least once a day and a max of roughly three times a day.
Rule two, focus on your ideal customer and no one else. What I mean by this is create content that attracts more customers, not followers. Followers that are irrelevant won't make you money. So who cares if they follow you? So focus on the right audience. You do this by creating content that is highly relevant to the services or products you offer.
When I post content about life lessons, like what I wish I knew when I was 18, it does way better than my marketing content from a view perspective and even a like perspective, but you know what? No one pays me for life lessons. So it's irrelevant. When I create content around marketing tips and strategies, it gets a fraction of the views and like, but it drives leads and sales.
Rule three, genuinely help others. I say genuinely, because if you don't really care to help others, you won't. If you care and you really put people first, even if they never provide a dime, it's a great feeling and it will build brand evangelists. These brand evangelists will talk about you, promote your brand, help you generate the right kind of followers and leads and sales.
I stumbled upon this exact rule, this rule three, about being genuinely and helping your followers 10 plus years ago, accidentally, because I was helping people out because I cared, not because it was good for me. Years later, I quickly realized that I was creating brand evangelists and more revenue. That's all you have to do.
So if you follow these three rules, you'll start doing much better with your social media marketing. It really is that simple, even with all the up and coming algorithm changes that are going to happen over the next year or two.

The Biggest SEO Mistake I’ve Made
The biggest SEO mistake I've ever made. What does a national park, a war, and a casino all have in common? Well, I'll give you a hint. It involved my biggest SEO mistake.
RESOURCES & LINKS:
____________________________________________
Ubersuggest: https://neilpatel.com/ubersuggest/
____________________________________________
Leave a comment below, letting me know what you think my biggest SEO mistake is. I gave you that hint right? Now before I break down my SEO mistake, I want to first tell you that you need to think long term.
See, I was shortsighted when I first got started into the role of entrepreneurship and marketing. When I was in my early twenties, and even before that, when I was 16, 17, 18, because I started SEO when I was around 16 years old. And to give you context, now I'm 37. I want to make money fast. So fast, I look for shortcuts.
And there was this one site called Battlefield Bypass which was expired domain with a lot of authoritative links. These links were naturally generated and not purchased because it was a national park site. And it was part of the award that happened on that land. So I bought it, converted it into online casino site. Within months, I was ranking the top three positions on Google for the term "online casino".
That keyword is worth hundreds and thousands of dollars a month in affiliate revenue. Not thousands, hundreds of thousands to give you perspective. That's millions of dollars a year. That's a lot of money, especially when you're under 20 years old. But within months, Google whacked me! All of a sudden that site lost all of its rankings. In essence, I was trying to cheat the system by getting traffic and rankings by cheating instead of providing value.
See, the sites that rank in the top in the long run are the ones that users love the most. No one that cheats their way to the top lasts forever. Just think of it this way. You don't really care if a site at the top has a lot of back links or better on page code. You only care if that site solves your problem and ideally in a quick and affordable fashion.
Now I learned a lot from this mistake, and I made tones of others as well. But I had the shortcut mentality when I was young and I was growing up. And if I could go back in time I would stop taking shortcuts. And I would be much further in my career even as an entrepreneur. That's my big SEO mistake.
If you're struggling with SEO, and you don't want to make all the mistakes that I've made, and you want to get your rankings by providing value to users and using ethical, clean tactics check out my ad agency, NP digital. One Data Point That Will Change How You Do B2B Marketing
One data point that'll change how you do B2B marketing. I own a ad agency called NP Digital, we have 700 plus employees globally and we focus on helping companies grow their traffic and their customer base from the internet.
RESOURCES & LINKS:

Now, can you guess what the number one channel that drives our customers? Seriously, let me know what you think? Take a guess by leaving a comment below with answer. Now, if you guess that it was SEO or paid ads or any form of marketing, you're wrong, it's actually referrals.
A great example of this is a client telling other people about our company and our services and how they're happy, because if their friends also own businesses and their friends are looking for marketing help, they're usually like, "Well, if you had good luck with this company, let us try it out as well."
Another way we get referrals is a lot of our employees have come from other ad agencies, they're experienced, they're season. So a lot of times companies have worked with them at previous companies and they're like, "Wait, I love working with Chad, where's he now?" "Oh, he's at NP Digital, let me hit him up and see if NP Digital is a fit for us."
In other words, referrals is how we get majority of our revenue, but that's not the data point that'll change how you do marketing. Now, can you guess what our second most popular channel is? I'll give you a hint, it's a marketing channel this time. It's actually SEO. SEO drives over 2 million visitors a month, literally two plus million visitors a month. And it's a great long-term channel that you should focus on even though it takes a while.
But that's not the data point either, this third one though is, can you guess what the third most popular channel is for my ad agency? I'm talking about the channel that is the third most popular, that drives new customers, revenue, right? Not traffic, actual paying customers. And this channel works really well for both B2B and B2C.
I'll give you a hint, it's not paid ads and it is a social channel, it's actually YouTube. YouTube is the second most popular search engine in the world according to Similarweb.
Did you know that people search for tips, strategies, tactics, and all things B2B and even B2C related on YouTube, such as how to do SEO or how to put on makeup? YouTube generates us over 640,000 views a month, if not up to a million on a good month.
So with your B2B marketing, add YouTube into the mix, don't take it for granted, it works. It's not that competitive, there's not as many people trying to create content for YouTube, and I don't know why because it's an amazing channel. Plus once you create that content for YouTube, you can also put on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, you can literally repurpose it and put it everywhere, which drives even more revenue. And we see revenue from Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, all the social channels in essence. But people some reason don't really care to create video-based content when it works extremely well for both B2B and even B2C.

Why Social Media Marketing Doesn’t Work (For Most People)
Why social media marketing doesn't work for most people? It doesn't matter if it is Facebook, or Instagram, or LinkedIn, or even Twitter. Social media marketing just doesn't work, or at least for most people. And no, it's not because you don't have enough followers, instead, it doesn't work because you only focus on getting more followers. See, that's the issue. Let's say you want a million followers. If you want lots of followers, you have to create content that appeals to the masses.

For example, I'm in digital marketing, that's a vertical I'm in. I own a digital marketing agency called NP Digital. And I can start to create more generic content, and my follower account will rise faster, which is funny because that's what my social media team keeps telling me to do. But I don't. Why? Because yes, it'll get us more followers faster, but every time we do that, you can guess how many more clients we get or even leads? It gets us a whopping zero extra leads clients and revenue. And I've tested this out hundreds of times, literally.
So my most popular content pieces I've created have been around lifestyle marketing, such as spending money on fancy clothes or what I learned from flying first class on over a hundred trips. And I'm not saying you should fly first class. There's nothing wrong with economy. It creates buzz, but it doesn't convince our ideal customers to work with us.
On the flip side, if I give SEO tips or marketing tips, do you know what happens? I get way less views. I get way less likes on my content. But people who watch my content are interested in SEO, and a portion of those people eventually convert into leads and some even in customers.
In other words, yes, you need followers to make social media marketing work for you, and of course, you need great content, but the big mistake that people make, it's that they create content that focuses on the masses so they can boost this vanity metric AKA follower account, instead of focusing on creating content that targets their ideal customer. So with your social media marketing, focus on your ideal customer and not on everyone. That's how you make it work.
